For real this boss is not a pushover, he's a bit more simple than other late bosses in the series but the fact that he's a pressure heavy type makes it difficult, even tho that's the case I love this boss, it took me a little to get the hang of it since the damage per hit is pretty high on this guy but once i learned it was total fun. Hope you guys get to enjoy him as much as i did. KEEP ON SLAYING
The biggest fight for me here was against the camera. I’m positive that the Nameless King is a Fromsoft programmer who doesn’t want his or her creation to get beaten.
This was the one. I’ve beaten every boss in Elden Ring and it’s DLC. The majority of bosses in Dark Souls 3 I defeated on my first or 2nd try. None frustrated me until Nameless. His switch ups between fast and delayed attacks broke my brain. At least 20 attempts. Came across this guide after watching others… took him down 2nd try, wearing Onion Bro’s helm out of respect for the fallen. I was shaking from adrenaline. Thank you!
Simply the best. Great tactics. I couldn't approach this king for a week. I dealt with your guide on the second day. He only fired a couple of lightning bolts during the entire fight. Otherwise, standard attacks from above
Thank you so so much for this video dude. I used this as well as your Dancer guide recently, and both were amazingly helpful. As soon as I started using your advice, I immediately saw improvements, and I managed to beat nameless king on my 23rd attempt today. So again, thank you so much for these videos. I'll be sure to check out your Twitch channel as well.
My friend you being able to take something from my tutorials is very important for me and im very happy that this is the case, GGs on the win, Nameless King is not easy, best of luck on the rest of the game
I swear there's a lot of weird thing FS do with their code. For example, Lorian will always get teleported near you when you enter the arena for the second time and onward. But if you enter the fogwall and stand still, he will get teleported in place
omg thank you so much! I failed on that lightning attack too many times, couldn't get that timing right not even once, but using that strat with looking away from him made it so easier that I beat him on the first try after watching this video
Thanks man , me and my brother were both stuck at this boss. He watched your video and defeated him. Then i tried your method and boom , defeated nameless king . It was the 1st and last time i saw his 2nd phase.
just beat this dude the other night, and all the little details like moving right during flight, the times to switch camera focus from the king to his mount... perfect. many tutorials omit details like these that make a difference.🎉
I learn most of his attacks at the 3rd try, but still struggle with his lightning attack. finally beat him after learning from you at 6th try. Thank you so much, still helping 4 years later 👊
If you're talking about the lightning that comes from the sky, all you have to do is look away from the boss (turn around) and it will miss every time.
A year after you made this but...This guide was amazing! I had heard this guys was one of the hardest bosses in the game and he was pretty challenging when I got to him. But after watching this video it only took me 2 more tries! The 2nd phase strat was the key! Thanks so much!
at 0:30 there is an even simpler way to dodge this just unlock your camera and walk the opposite direction of where he's flying, turn in slight angle towards around 2 o'clock, and the lightning spear will ALWAYS miss you
A very well done guide. You gained a sub for the great job you did. It even have drawings so it easier to understand. I've been looking a lots of "guides" on how to beat this boss but yours IS the best one with all the details. Hope this kind of work never ends. Thanks.
Definitely my favorite fight in DS3, was so satisfying and super fun to learn all of his attacks, was also the one boss i actually really felt like it was my fault whenever i died
Buff the weapon with lightning and attack the beak. When the Vivern gets knocked down, go to the beak and hit it - it will be a critical hit. Depending on the weapon this could be the end of phase 1.
Oh my god, I finally beat him thanks to your tutorial, thanks bro, thanks, it's true that you can't just get desperate, you have to hit him once, maybe twice, and then recover far away from him. It's better to fight him from afar, thanks, thanks, thanks. 😅👌👍
Thumbs up for explanation of lightning slam phase 1 - I've noticed most no-hit demos either kill him without letting that move happen or don't really explain how to avoid it. I've noticed though that once you sprint close enough to him it doesn't matter if you dodge away or into it - I prefer to dodge into it since you'll move past the shockwave but still avoid taking damage from the spear and reposition yourself closer to the wyvern's head.
Perry Tran yeah, in a no hit setting the fight ends pretty fast and you don’t get to see all of his moves, definitely a run killer if you’re not expecting it. Thanks for the thumbs up, happy to help.
running away from it is the best thing because he will track you until the moment he slams down, this means if you know exactly how far the hitbox stretches, you will get a free headslashing as reward if you know exactly where to stop
First phase is tough, because you can watch any number of people doing it quite easily. Some someone like me, I want to kill and then learn mechs later. So. Use a heavy sword. Greatsword 3-hits to critical and most criticals take out the dragon. If you use other ultra greatswords, it's like 4 solid hits on the head. Just saying. There's time to learn the nuances after you beat him a few times, with anxiety, focus, and this will to defeat. Anything less heavy will make the fight a lot longer, unless you know the fight already. Phase 2. It's tough because his attacks are delayed. Good luck with that. And. Like Blasty says, keep distance and punish him when he charges.
Playing second playthrough. The first phase is easy with Dragonslayer axe . The second is the hard part. Have to try the hollow greatsword on second phase.
looked up a nameless king guide so i could prove that you can just turn ur camera on the lightning bolt attack but now i really wanna redownload ds3 and fight nameless king lol also i like your accent
Heavily disagree and i have a good amount of unfair experiences to know specially since i dedicate my last 6 years to doing hitless on many different games so i know unfair when i see one. The boss is very tough sure but its not unfair at all, you have all the tools to deal with all his attacks and there's no artificial difficulty in the fight, very little bugs if any to put you at a disadvantage or rob you from your fight. Unfair is when there's an unbalance between what the boss can do on a fight vs what you can do in both defense and offense. If you're getting 1 shot consider increasing Vigor, if you're lacking damage consider upgrading it or getting another weapon, if you have very few heals for the fight then look for more.
I've been struggling with nameless. So i should basically just keep my distance until he does the gap closers in phase 2? And only roll when he does the sword charge on phase 2.
I came to this game after getting a platinum in Bloodborne, killed Orphan of Kos on my fourth try, and was hoping that at least something would carry over to this. I'm not sure if it has or not. I have probably fought this jabroni over 50 times at this point. The only other time in recent memory where I have had so much of a problem with a boss not "clicking" was Genichiro in Sekiro. For whatever reason I just could NOT get his timing down and it took me like probably over 70 tries before finally doing it. For this guy, I kill the chicken in a minute or so without being hit, and then it's all over again within 15 seconds of the cutscene ending. There are two things that just do not work for me in this fight. The first is, almost without fail when he does the skewering attack, no matter what phase I'm at in the roll, it ALWAYS interrupts the animation and I get to go for an unintended superman ride. It's the worst if I'm trying to roll straight into it like you are. The other is that if I stay too close, he almost always acts like I'm interrupting his little league practice and he just spams the horizontal swipes. I've counted up to 7 horizontal swipes and 3 vertical slams. By the time he's done with all that crap, I've burned through my stamina bar and I get killed by the next attack because I can't roll any more. It does this probably 75% of the time right off the bat: immediately after the cutscene ends, he does the skewering attack that always gets me no matter when I roll, and then he just swings back and forth until i'm dead. If I run away he skewers again and swings back and forth again. I've actually never seen the float-to-the-side-then-dash-in aerial attack, he's only done the horizontal/vertical wind combos once, and he's only done the delayed aerial attack 3 times throughout all these attempts, it's just the same things over and over. It just feels like a buggy mess and a slog against a poor game engine.
@@heyblasty8614 No, hell no. He kills me within 15 seconds of getting to the "on foot" stage without me being able to dodge any of his attacks or damage him since he just does the spammy horizontal attack until I die, never anything else.

Honestly the thing that pisses me off about this boss is just how you have to constantly keep doing part 1 over and over which is a peace of cake, the problem is the second part because its completely unforgiving. Endless barrage of fast, deadly attacks that will 2-3 shot most players with little to no time to heal in-between if you do get hit. The telegraph for his attacks and the delays between the build up and attack so different for each move it makes it so hard not to panic roll thinking an attack is coming or to roll too soon. Imo the second phase of this boss fight is really all they needed, first phase should never have been a thing.
Well its either this or a harder version of the second fight as a second phase cause if you've noticed at this point every boss has a second phase to 3rd phase in this game. That said i do understand your struggle, high damage per hit with odd timings on his attacks is a nasty combo to deal with.
