2 full days trying to grasp the basics of how to record my guitar playing with Da Vinci, how hard could this be! I was ready to throw the towel in and book an appoint with the shrink for stress and anxiety, and then came along Jamie. Your teaching made an impossible task, so easy to follow. Thank you heaps. 😊 A happy vegemite from the land down under.
This was a perfect getting started guide. Opening this app for the first time was overwhelming. What you shared and how you shared it was perfect. I was able to jump right in and really get going with a simple vid! Thank you so much!
Finally, a Davinci Resolve for beginners that doesn't just jump around all over the place! I really wish you would do a whole series of videos on this.
I'm at 17 mins and I had to pause to like and subscribe. This is very good stuff. I've never been this amazed by a tutorial. I feel like I paid good money for this. You aren't rushing and skipping over stuff. You are an excellent teacher.
I watched two "DaVinci 17 101" videos and couldn't make sense of either. Your video is clear with step by step instructions. At the end, I'd created my first video. Thank you, so much!
I like that the way you explain is easy to understand for people of all ages, I'm 17 and had an easy time learning, but older people can easily understand too!
Am watching your video at this point of time as I just started using davinci 17, I am just at basic, and your clarity in explaining really makes it seem a lot easier and I'm ready to move further
So glad I found this video! I have watched others that talked way too fast and had my head spinning! You have made this look so much easier even though I know there is a lot to learn. You made this so easy to follow along! Thanks!
If I don't learn the basics of this software it's my fault. Not because there aren't lots & lots of people like this content creator providing adequate tutorials.
Good video. It amazes me that - on the audio timeline - Davinci doesn't allow double-clicking for adding keyframes when just about every other program I've used does!
Your video is ALREADY better than the tutorial that was on the Davinci Resolve website. I really appreciate how you explain the BASICS (which I really needed even though I've edited video for over a decade). I'm trying out Resolve and love how explain your process.
Hi Teacher's Tech I have been through your whole video and made some notes in a word document. (Im an older guy so I need notes!) There is so much to learn, but you did show what is possible and the basics of how to get started. Thanks a lot
OMG Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!! This video has all of the key functions that any novice would be looking at doing, with some fun extra to give their video an extra umph. You were clear, concise and well spoken. Thank you again, so very very very much!
it's awesome , amazing tutorial ever in my life . the way you explain motivates me a lot and makes me understand a lot . thank you so much for this amazing tutorial . hope you make all new tutorials further . and i can't wait to see it . thank you
Thank you. I appreciated your explanations, your examples and your not going into too much detail. I know I will be referring to this video again and again as I learn how to use DaVinci Resolve 17.
You really made my day. This is a great video, I did everything that you did and it really helped me in the process of learning how to use DaVinci Resolve! THANK YOU!!! So clear and you talk about everything I needed to know :D Have a good day!
GREAT video!! Exactly what I needed as my very first introduction to Resolve. I had experience with a couple of other editors, but Resolve came highly recommended from a friend "in the business" and I am glad to be making the switch. Your pace was perfect, you are concise and really easy to follow. Thank you for making this video, I look forward to watching many more!
Really great vid, thanks for sharing! I recently upgraded my PC to progress my editing skills, so this tutorial is perfect!! You speak really clearly and explain exactly what you're doing, without going off-topic, which seems to be surprisingly rare these days!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Gave me a great basic grasp of DaVinci. Never edited a video before but with your tutorial I completed my very first video edit. Thank you so much!!!!
I am learning... and it is very difficult learning curve. If I might add to your wonderful instructions... the timeline work space where all the editing is done - it is like if a person were editing a old timey hollywood movie camera film. And to make that film strip appear, drag the video in upper left hand window "diagonally" (not straight down) down and to the right into the timeline work space.
Nice job on the tutorial. Looking to migrate from Video Pad editor to something more robust. This looks loaded with features. The difficult part is leaving something I'm very familiar with, to something that I'm not. Takes me right out of my comfort zone!!! But I downloaded Resolve 17 and will give it a shot!! Thanks again for your work.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I subscribed after watching this video because you made editing on Davinchi so much more clearer for me!!! Would love to see more tutorial on colors and other features this software offers. Thanks a bunch!
Great intro, thanks! I was planning to give Resolve a try for my next TH-cam video but wasn't quite sure where to start fumbling around. You video has helped me speed that up by many days, a now I think I can side-step the analysis paralysis portion of where to start :)
This is helpful, but I am an absolute primordial beginner. I'd like to to edit ONE clip: trim it, edit out bits and create transitions. Every video for beginners, including this one, starts showing multiple clips and images and audio and very complex (to me) stuff. Is there a video showing how to edit a single video clip?
This video was great and really helpful. I played it at 2x speed and found myself learning much quicker and he's still understandable. Thank you for posting this content.
I started trying to edit my own videos a few months back with shotcut and i saw your tutorial and i loved it ! but i got busy w school works so i got no time with editing anymore, then last saturday I said, I need to try editing again since major exam is done, so I looked for best free editing softwares again and found this one, then for some reason you just uploaded this like 8 days ago, its insane like the world is telling me to rly go back editing 😆 Im glad you did this because you are the best editing software youtuber ive seen and its really helpful. Please keep doing what you do and have a nice day 😊
Thank you for your help. I was using Shotcut, but after somebody suggested DaVinci Resolve for some extra features, I thought I'd give it a try. It would have taken me quite a bit longer to figure out by experimentation had you not made this wonderful instruction video. Well done! I must say though, your voice is almost too calming. Have you ever considered working as a negotiator?
This is an extremely helpful video well put together and covers enough of the basic edits to get you up and running with Da Vinci Resolve. Thanks very much
Brilliant - thank you! Never realised the power of the program and this helps so much to get started - I have a feeling I will be watching this a couple more times still.
Hi Jamie, your Davinci 17 is the best and easiest to follow intro tutorial I've seen. Do you offer a full-blown course on 17? If so, where can I access or purchase it? Thanks!
Wow, thanks a lot! I got too frustrated with LightWorks Editing Software so I decided to move to Davinci. This tutorial is really helping me, thanks a lot ♥
Very informative! Can you please show us how to cut on a very particular point on a video. For example, my raw video has some unwanted portions and I want to remove them how do I delete that very precise portion of the video.
Thank you for this great walkthrough, I would have likely given up without it. Just one question, at the end we chose TH-cam and rendered our videos to YT, but for some reason mine said, "Upload Failed". Internet is all good here, I linked my TH-cam to DR, do you have any idea why this might happen? Thanks again, Dean
Divinci is a good software but for color but many people work in other software and come to Divinci and color it is a lot of problems so I will tell Black Magic you add some things to it and you will see that no one else is using it like music sync delivery quality is better. I think this is the number one free software in the world
You're the best, Jaime. I tried to watch several others but they assumed I knew something--which I don't. Yours is idiot-proof for technophobes like me, and yet you don't waste any time. Your explanations are crystal clear. If I made videos, I would make them just like you. I hope you'll be able to make some more about DaVinci Resolve that include more details on how to adjust color, etc. on the original video and how to adjust sound quality--maybe play a before and after to show the differences. Thanks so much!
How do I find the Windows Task Bar when in Resolve 17. I did before but forgot how I did it. I want to use file explorer to import clips. Wonderful presentation on all your Tutorials. I have been an Avid Composer for 15 years but now am transiting to Resolve because I love it and it's so much cheaper to keep up to date. I have spent a fortune keeping up with AVID.... john R
I had a very long video that I wanted most of the video removed to only show a small portion of the video. I wanted to save that small portion as a video. You certainly helped me accomplish that by moving down the entire video to just the portion I needed. However, is there an easier way just to find the portion I wanted and cut the rest out? I'm sure that would have been so much easier, if there was a way to do that.
A good tutorial for a beginner like me. One thing I dont underatnd is that. I created a short video at 60p. I want to make the whole a slow mo. What speed settings shouId set for my project
thank you soooooooo much..... you are a life saver, finally I can find all the button to start my video..... Although this is way complex than Camtasia, BUT this apps totally beat Camtasia
Why would anyone give this video a thumbs down?! Thank you so much for another clear and simple tutorial that even newbies like me can follow.
Because this is the video they were watching when they realized the tutorial they're uploading sucks.
@domecrack his vids are good stop lying.
I wouldn't give it a thumbs down but I do find the talking head a bit off-putting.

At last, a tutorial for beginners that explains at a beginners pace. Thank you.
EXACTLY.
yes, thank you, hopefully you can do a video on color grading or reccomend one!
This was a perfect getting started guide. Opening this app for the first time was overwhelming. What you shared and how you shared it was perfect. I was able to jump right in and really get going with a simple vid! Thank you so much!

Excellent Tutorial ~ He taught at the beginner level ~ which is me ~ and he showed you exactly what option you were selecting. Thank You!!!!
Fantastic, this has told me everything I need to know to get started. Thank you.
agree
Honestly, this is gold! After having worked with Magix for a couple of years, I decided to take the "next step"! Thanks for this amazing video, Jamie!
You’re welcome! I’m glad it could help you out.

This video tutorial is filled with answers to questions I had in many other videos. This is a gem!

Fantastic job, Jamie! Once again you have nailed it with your easy-to-understand tutorial. You hit the spot that other wannabe teachers miss.

Oh, this video I am looking at it as it is going to be first time on the program. Thank You. I will look into raw photo editing tutorial next.
Brilliant video, easy to follow and includes all the features I need for a really impressive first video. Thank you so much for taking the time!!

Thanks for the intro to Resolve 17. Just had to buy a new computer and had planned to try out 16 but will jump into 17 instead. Looks great.

Instructive step by step at a pace one can assimilate. Thank you!
thanks heaps for a clear, comprehensive and careful tutorial - this will get me started tomorrow.
Fantastic. In 15mins I've discovered I will never use Openshot again!!!
