I just tried to do it, but when i do the white border, that border does not fit to the zoomed pictures. while the pictures are zoomed in, so they don't fill the whole screen, the border however, goes along the edge of the whole screen so there is a gap between the border and the pictures.
Could you please stop posting more videoes!, I simply don´t have time to see all your fantastic! content, and your very likeable personality !, I also got a life you know !!.....LOL, I´m just kidding Alex, you´re the best !, thx for the video, i´ll watch the whole thing tonight.......greetings from Copenhagen / Denmark
I'm new to resolve and you just saved my life as I need to prepare a slideshow from our family vacation. Now I know how I can do it quickly and not picture by picture. Thanks man!
The control + c, alt + v attributes copy and paste tip has saved me from repetitive strain injury, thank you! Until now, I have been adjusting the blanking fill and drop shadow attributes per clip/image!
I've seen enough of your videos that I just want to stop reading the manual and watch ALL of your videos instead. You're saving me a ton of time and mistakes - THANK YOU
The amount of content in such a short video is amazing. I'm just getting started on DaVinci and really video/picture editing in general and I've learned so many quick and easy ways to make my content palatable.
I use Davinci Resolve once a year, to stich together the slideshow for the annual banquet for our scouting group. (beavers/cubs/venturers/rovers) So I don't use it often enough to get 'good' at it. For years I've created video stubs (one per scouting event) and then they get imported into DR for the final assembly. THIS year, I tried using DR for the entire slide show for the very first time. My success is due in no small part to finding your video, Alex! I used several of the techniques you illustrated in your video, and they worked super-well. The end result looks decently polished. (FYI: The white border feature is buggy, and frames the entire frame instead of just the shrunken image... I searched and found people complaning about this problem in the DR forums.) Thanks!
I got Davicni Resolve last year and I was so lost and 6 months ago I came across your channel and now its as simple as it can be, so thanks and keep rocking it
Somehow the speed of your information delivery syncs perfectly with my mind. I'm never waiting on the next step, nor felling like its going to fast. Just spot on mate - Thanks!!!
Your video is the most engaging, clear, and informative of all the video tutorials I have watched. Thank you for all your help. You’ve gained a new subscriber in me.
great job. I switched from my previous program to this because of video but there are very few you-tubes on slides vs videos. Thanks for the instructional video.
This is the best video i ever seen. You saved me time and cost to going to college to learn so detailed lol!! 👍🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🤝 . This was better than a Netflix show . Fantastic!!
Alex my man! I love the timing as I just started to work on a project which is to be made from photos sent from a client to be put together. Useful stuff as always, keep it up!
Actually learned a few "other" things by watching this. - I am still learning Resolve after years of Premiere and Avid. Keep up your great work! Thank You.
thanks for this, really helpful. i keyframed some rotation angle just for the duration of push transitions, so it looks like cards sliding on the table. thanks again, good stuff.
Thank you for uploading this video because it is a great help for me to learn video editing , I am grateful.Sorry I don´t speak English.I wrote the help of a translator.
Thank you, I believe this covers all possible effects to add and make a great slide show.... I will be using this to make a slide show of my still portfolio!!
Very nice update to bring it forward to DR18. And I appreciated the additional content/options not covered in earlier DR17 video. I concur with other comments that your videos are always informative and helpful ... solve pratical problems in an easy way. The old DR17 video had 2 items not covered here that I still find helpful: 1) How to reduce pics to a resaonable size for DR (e.g., turn 32.5M pics into HD size using 3rd party tools) 2) How to do dynamic zoom across several images and then make it go the opposite way ... then repeat the in/out out/in effect for entire slideshow Thank you!
My hero. I've never managed to work out how to do the image borders. I never considered the fusion page. Now I don't have to go back into Affinity Photo and add a border to each image one by one. Thanks!
OMG.... i watched half this video last night and already had so many ideas. Thought about what I actually wanted to achieve and came back to remind myself of all the options you went through, to confirm what i wanted was here. Halfway through i figured out what i was going to do, but came to the conclusion i would have to put the whole lot in a composite clip in order to get the picture in picture effect i wanted. Lol, watched the video to the end this time, and lo and behold, you show me how to do that as well. In future I'll watch all your videos to the end first! Liked, subscribed... my go to DaVinci instructor!
This video was very helpful as I am trying to learn and build my channel. I want to add photos and this is a wonderful help. I took lots of notes and am going to be applying this lesson to my next video. Thank you very much. I know and can appreciate how much hard work you put into this.
Well, that was about the best video ever, on making a slideshow. I'm going to be trying out a lot of these ideas. Will watch this video quite a bit more than just once, for sure. Lots of things to learn and learn-by-doing. Thanks for such a comprehensive coverage of the topic.
Simply Wow! I never knew that you could do all of this in Davinci Resolve! My slideshows were pretty much standard fare but THIS! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I learned quiet A LOT. This is one of your best tutorials.
Outstanding content and presentation. Your tutorials inspire me to learn more about Davinci Resolve and move away from what is now a very clunky Premiere Pro. Many Thanks MrAlex.
Excellent tutorial! One thing I would add is sound effects. I know you weren't concentrating on this, but at least with the retro looks, I would add the sound of a slide projector changing slides - adds to the illusion.
thank you for the fabulous content.. request you to post how to go to BACKGROUND option and how to save the video to the desktop .. thank you for the support!!!
Great Video! Is there a way to use such a slideshow as template? So that I don't have to start from scratch every time but instead just replace all pictures at once?
Thanks for this Alex I've just started using DaVinci and made a slideshow with your other tutorial which is great this one tops that with great ideas for a beginner thanks again
Wowwwwwww!!! You don't understand how much I appreciate your tips and tricks Bro!!! Going to Miami/Bimini for my BDay in a few weeks... taking my DJi Osmo Action 3 camera and Mini 3 Pro drone, and you've really helped me to develop my Trip's storyline and ways to make/take/use the footage that I'll be getting during my stay! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I really appreciate you!!! #Salute
This is great - thank you so much! Blanking Fill is a game-changer for me. I've been adding a sublayer of the photo/video and adding gaussian blur. It looks like I could have been saving time, and thanks to you, I will going forward. 👍
Thank you for updating 09:34. I use a Wacom and middle click from your older tutorial wasn't working. I have 200+ images to add borders to so it was going to be a long night. :)
Thanks for getting to the point. Why Davinci resolve doesn't have a built in command for removing or changing all the transitions on selected clips is beyond me.
This is similar to one my older vids but it's been updated for Resolve 18 🙂👍
It’s funny I was literally watching the older video 2 days ago. Nice update. You are doing a great job. So helpful.
I just tried to do it, but when i do the white border, that border does not fit to the zoomed pictures. while the pictures are zoomed in, so they don't fill the whole screen, the border however, goes along the edge of the whole screen so there is a gap between the border and the pictures.
@@theflavourist1985 opening fusion page will resize photo unfortunately, I think this is why in his previous video he suggested resizing photos first
@@azrael201201 What's the solution? My border also is not on the image, but rather on the frame.
So helpful to get me started. Thank you!
This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen for any topic. Congratulations!

Between Mr. Alex and Patrick Sterling, I no longer have a life outside work, fishing, and video editing. That's fine by me.
you're my Jedi master for davinci !
I'm new to resolve and you just saved my life as I need to prepare a slideshow from our family vacation. Now I know how I can do it quickly and not picture by picture. Thanks man!
Thank you, perfect for a beginner
It is similar to your older vids, but every year you make it even better, more informative and valuable for all of us. Thanx Alex!
Such a great video, it helped me put that added touch on the slideshow for my uncle's funeral.
Hi Alex.. From California.. Home of motocross and Supercross.. Love all your content with DaVinci!
Hey man, you don't know how much you've help me, I'm learning Davinci and you're my favorite channel for editing
The control + c, alt + v attributes copy and paste tip has saved me from repetitive strain injury, thank you! Until now, I have been adjusting the blanking fill and drop shadow attributes per clip/image!

Been trying to learn to do this in Final Cut Pro but this is much more understandable and easy! Thanks!!
I had to pause the video to give him a thumb up 👍 before I continue watching. Such a valuable one!
I got Davicni Resolve last year and I was so lost and 6 months ago I came across your channel and now its as simple as it can be, so thanks and keep rocking it

Best Davinci Resolve creator on this platform! Thanks for all your help!
Bro's a lifesaver!! Thank you so much!!

Useful stuff as always, keep it up!
You are the best man. It’s so enjoyable to see all your works and it helps me create more better vid’s. Kudos to you.
Thank you! Having to slam together a quick looping slideshow for a multi hour funeral with 1000's of images and this is going to be so much help!
You can also add CMD+G to delete the gap. in the keyboard customization.
Amazing, this quick run through was exactly what I needed. Appreciate it.
Merci beaucoup. C'est tout simplement impactant.
thank you. This is a perfect tuto to apply.
Loved it. So much useful info packed into a short time. Thank you. I took notes and will be coming back to reference this.
Thanks for the zoom tip. I've been using a transition dragged across clip lol
Actually learned a few "other" things by watching this. - I am still learning Resolve after years of Premiere and Avid. Keep up your great work! Thank You.
Excellent as always! Compound clips is going to be interesting when building a much larger project (or intro), so thanks for that idea.
Thanks Alex, you are doing the Lord's work! 😃
thanks for this, really helpful.
i keyframed some rotation angle just for the duration of push transitions, so it looks like cards sliding on the table.
