Marcin Rucinski has just spoken ! Best Freaking Resolve Color Grade Tutorial Ever !! Best Content That I Have Watched In Years !! Yep .... Subbed !.......Belled !
Amazing crash course, thank you! Quick question for you: From studying a lot of other tutorials on correcting and grading LOG footage specifically, the recommendation seems to be to use a Color Space Transform to non destructively convert your LOG footage into Rec 709 first and then correct and grade from there but I noticed you didn't do that, you just went straight into the wheels and started building from there. To my understanding, the LOG to Rec 709 transform isn't just to regain saturation but also to correctly remap the values from a LOG space to a Rec 709 space so I was curious if you could elaborate a bit more on your choice to not do that step and go straight into building off the log footage if that makes sense!
I recently learned that camera manufacturers also make "log specific" LUTs to bring your footage back to a linear work space as well. In project settings under the color management tab is one place you can choose to apply it (under 1D, 3D, input, output, etc.). However, when clipping occurs you can't bring it back like you can in the color page by placing an adjustment node before it. My guess is that there are no LUTs necessary for this workflow (which is awesome) and if you're image starts to fall apart then see how it reacts to linear or try playing around with the log wheels. Best of luck!
Needless to say, not afraid to admit it for myself, a lot of people in this industry need the hand holding to actually understand and learn what we want to do. This video is #1. Even makes sure you're looking at the rite portion of the screen. Thanks gf!(I really was looking at the wrong screen while listening and watching the video).

Excellent excellent tutorial. Concise, informative, no fluff, not boring, and above all else, I TRUST you! Thank you so much for providing this knowledge
Am I seeing this wrong? The mask protected the face from the teal look but the armpit shadow turned too blue imo. Why not use the skin tone mask to protect the whole skin?
you can recreate another mask to protect the armpits too. i noticed that too but maybe he didnt because there was so much things in his mind while recording you know.

Much thanks for this one. Long time FCPX editor here, just getting into DaVinci. This was very helpful. Great free resource. You rock. Notes: You move a tiny bit fast (esp bcs your screen recording software doesn’t have visual guides to highlight mouse, etc), but it’s nothing insurmountable, as I can pause and replay. Also: Maybe a good idea to teach people to be neat w organization re labeling nodes etc (you said you always know how to make fixes later as you know your own layout, but that’s different than teaching newbies!) You gained a sub. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for uploading it in your youtube channel. It helps a lot
Of course man. Enjoy.
By far the best resolve tut I have watched and answered all of the nagging questions I had about prepping footage from whichever nle program you use and conforming it inside of resolve. A must watch.
thank you. let's go
Everyone in comments: this isn't 1 hour! It's 42 mins!!!
Me: it's free! Amazing ❤️
😂🙏🏽💪🏽
Quick, professional, efficient. Superb Tuto. I am really impressed. It is not just another tuto tool - it is THE TOOL!
Wow really great tutorial! I noted so much things down. Thank you! :)
Thank you brother. Glad you enjoyed it.
THENKS - I switched to RESOLVE from the PREMIERE!!! I chose a new beginning!
Mate this really helped me out although I'm in FCPX I can sort of take some of your knowledge and apply in FCPX. Love ya work👍
Thank you so much. Appreciate the love.
As this guy said, it changed my life ;) super useful tutorial!
thank you
An extraordinary amount of work to achieve that end. And, you managed to turn the wall green in the process.
There is so much information here I will have to watch this 10 times to even just get a grasp on what is going on. Very in depth tutorial Qazi and one I will definitely come back to. Thanks for making it. Now the fun begins.........
Let's go! Thanks brother. Much respect.
You're great! Thank you so much for clearing up and sorting up the mess in my head :) See you in your next vodeo!
Thank you so much for saying that. Glad I can help. 💪🏽
I decided to finally give color grading on DaVinci a try. I’ve watched over 40+ videos from others who seem to be all over the place, but you were able to show a lot in just 40 minutes! Great job explaining everything so throughly. You earned a sub my friend. Many thanks! 🙏😉👍
Thank you, brother. Makes me very happy. 💪🏽
Amazing free high quality content. Thank you !
Eric Wetzel thank you for three kind words brother.
Excellent excellent tutorial. Concise, informative, no fluff, not boring, and above all else, I TRUST you! Thank you so much for providing this knowledge
that means everything. Wow. Beautiful comment. Thank you so much.
Am I seeing this wrong? The mask protected the face from the teal look but the armpit shadow turned too blue imo.
Why not use the skin tone mask to protect the whole skin?
you can recreate another mask to protect the armpits too. i noticed that too but maybe he didnt because there was so much things in his mind while recording you know.
these are real tutorials, real world examples, perfectly explaining the entire process. THANK YOU!
You're very welcome. I have a ton of fun putting this together.
That was, as you say, the sauce
hahaha thanks, brother.
Blown away at how much I just learned in such a short time. I already knew some stuff but, you just filled in huge gaps of info I was missing. Thank you.
Of course brother. So happy for you.
@@theqazman I just signed for the webinar.
Reckless Pixel Images already mentioned you on my IG story. Let's go!!!
@@theqazman Yeah, I fooled you. I'm @lenzwizard on IG
Thanks dude. That was helpful!
Awesome. Glad to hear that.
Also: Maybe a good idea to teach people to be neat w organization re labeling nodes etc (you said you always know how to make fixes later as you know your own layout, but that’s different than teaching newbies!)
You gained a sub. Thanks again.
That intro was just awesome I have watched it like 10 times...make a tutorial about that as well......
😀Thank you so much. I want to eventually make tutorials on editing and cinematography. So, stay tuned.
He did a very good job imo. Explaining the basics step by step. English is not my first language and I have no experience in using DAWs
"Keep Creating" you're changing the Plant
Will do. Thank you so much for the kind words.
This video was absolutely fantastic. I was a complete noob when it came to colouring and now, I'm not a complete noob. Thank you!
Music to my ears. 🙏🏽
THE best video about DR colour grading that I´ve seen so far!
Man I wish I understood one fifth of what you did in this video. I’m brand new to DR and need to watch one of your basics courses before this makes sense to me. Subscribed!!
The insights in this ... and I'm only 14 mins in. I love DaVinci even more now :)
