    Unbelievable - ASUS 27" 240Hz OLED PG27AQDM Review
The day you’ve been waiting for is finally here because today I have the most anticipated monitor of 2023 the ASUS PG27AQDM 240Hz OLED is in my hands, and guys this review is definitely gonna shock you. The ASUS PG27AQDM is a 27" 240Hz OLED using MLA technology and a heatsync capable of boosting brightness. Not only that, but the PG27AQDM has an incredible response time of 0.03ms, a true 10bit panel, and is capable of up to 1000nits of peak brightness. Using this new OLED technology ASUS has been able to make what could be the best OLED monitor ever created for gaming.
The only thing gamers may not like about the new ASUS 240Hz OLED is that unlike the OLED TVs many have grown accustomed to it's using a matte finish which will significantly reduce the clarity and vibrancy of the display. Hopefully future OLED monitors will use a glossy finish so gamers can get the most out of this incredible OLED technology.

Now just to give my quick viewpoint,
I have tried a lot of different screens, and every single time i've been using one in an environment with anything else than usual home lighting, i have not been able to see what would be on the screen in the place where the reflection is, like at all. However, a mat finish has always only made it harder to see, however i've been able to. So i will almost always prefer a mat finish on most devices. However a tv and a desktop monitor wont matter usually, as i can easily control the lighting. However on laptops primarily, i will always, always, always go for a mat display, even though it's a bit more grainy and washed out compared.

That's already settled, the dyac 2566k has the best motionclarity of any monitor right now by quite a margin, then the pg27aqn, then this or LGs OLED. just watch monitor's unboxed review of the lg oled and the pg27aqn. This monitor is no different.

And what means hdmi 2.0 not good for consoles, how that work? i plan in future buy ps5 and xbox x and thinking how bad it will be if i stay asus for play on thme games like apex legends
Asus 2k oled will take from me around 1600$ with delivery to my place
What you can say in total it very good buy? i currently on 240 hz dyac + benq 2546k
It will be big changes in screen and shooting for me on oled? I play apex legends/Dayz and plan to play other games single/survival/shooting. Oled of Asus will be very good for apex/dayz and others vs my TN 240 benq? I want be able to see more clear screen to see enemy pixels on distance/green/bushes/ pick from top of building or like very little part of head

I believe the HDR issue will be fixed. Matte finish was pretty much a given, I'm not sure if it's even the manufacturers choice at this point, maybe it's some kind of weird condition they have to comply with to acquire the panel or something. The HDMI 2.0 ports on a 1000$ monitor are quite sad though.

I totally agree with the finish issue. I'm holding on to my FO48U until I come across another glossy one that does it this well. I've been sad about monitors not having glossy finish since my very first 120hz display, the venerable Asus VG236H. Back in 2010 it was amazing, too bad it had a CC backlight and it eventually just died.
I don't even understand why people say reflections are a problem, with glossy I get a small patch of light on the screen and can easily ignore it, but with a matte finish like my Dell IPS it diffuses across half the screen and becomes so distracting that I have to get up and mess with the shades, etc. (edit, lol I wrote this before you said the same words in the review)

How is HDMI 2.0 as waste for either PS5 or Series X? The thing does 1440p @120hz with VRR enabled. Isn’t that what it’s supposed to do? I mean what magic do you expect to happen having HDMI 2.1 on it?

Hello, I want to buy this monitor as well. but I am always traveling with work. I have a special troller for the unit and monitor, but it is 34 centimeters high. I would be interested in the height of the monitor from the logo (ROG) to the edge of the top frame. thank you, I would appreciate it if you would answer me.
p.s. On the Internet I see that it is written 351 mm. but I don't understand if this dimension also involves the logo or if it is separate .
my box has a 3 cm thick sponge. it wouldn't be a problem 1cm pressing on him.

As someone who's never used OLED and only LCD monitors (all of which have matte already) I'm use to matte, and although I agree glossy would be better theirs no glossy monitor options and I don't really know what I'm missing out on so it's pretty much a non-factor for many PC gamers, as this panel would still be a massive upgrade over what we currently have.
Same thing with HDR, most PC gamers have never had a proper HDR experience and LCD's can barley do it and very few people own those high end ones that can. I feel like these two problems are more or less issues with people who use OLED TVs for gaming (like on console or even their PC) before we had monitors. People upgrading from an LCD which is most people would just be happy they're getting a significantly better display. So if it's better than the LG in SDR I think those types of people would prefer this.
But yes we should have glossy & proper HDR 100%

I'm always confused about the matte vs glossy thing thats popped up over the last few years. Is everyone but my using a pc in a totally blacked out environment? I remember when monitors were glossy on a regular basis and it sucked. Didn't matter if the monitor or tv was plasma and had great blacks because you were looking at your reflection everytime there was a dark room. I do get wanting glossy if youre a photographer or something but not having daylight come through a window or someone else in the house needing a light on is unrealistic for most situations.

the difference between Matte and Glossy finished on high end monitors is minimal. With premium monitors like this, they do use a more premium matte finish. Cheaper monitors do use a way cheaper matte finish that does diffuse way more light. Matte finish isnt the same across all monitors. But people still like to believe that matte is all the same in 2023 even though companies go through great lengths in order to give users the best experience possible with premium monitors.
