A couple of little "tabs" on either of the ends would make zipping/unzipping more user-friendly. Love the zippers, too! I keep them on hand! Just love your projects. Thanks for sharing!
It's nice having Liz microphoned up. Makes the video even more fun to listen to because we can hear you well. I love how the two of you interact through the demonstration.
Liz mentioned how she loves the sound of the sewing machine, and it reminded me of how I used to think the sewing machine said “yum yum yum” when I was first learning to sew. 😁 I still love the sound of my machines when I work.
Seven And The Littlest Mew.....my 2nd son used to say "yum, yum, yum" when I was sewing at night. I made all my daughter's clothing and the boys PJ's and some shirts, so yes, I was sewing every single night.
Lovely wee tutorial, Misty is such a lovely person, she doesn’t take herself too seriously which is very refreshing, but clearly very talented. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards Yvonne Scotland x
Hello Scotland! 😃 We hope you are surviving the pandemic. We see Britain on the news each night and are thinking of you. Take care.💕 Love from sunny Australia 🇦🇺
Love this format with Misty in the front and Liz in the back! As I’m watching Misty create, Liz is answering the questions in my head before I can ask them! Great tutorial ladies!
I’m only 2 minutes into the replay and this is the cutest bag! You can stash sewing or other craft notions in here, toiletry tote, label maker tote...so many options. Thank you for another great tutorial.
Thank you for such a great tutorial! I live in Virginia and recently had the privilege of coming to Hamilton for the first time (a few weeks ago). I purchased some of your decorative zippers and wondered about installing them when using two fabrics with stabilizer in between. This tutorial answered my question. I also enjoyed your conversation with the videographer.
I just watched this tutorial for the first time and finally I know what I can use a bunch of those darling fancy zippers for! I ordered quite a number of them some time during the Winter and when they came, I thought they were so very cute and hung them in my sewing room and have just been admiring them. Now I'm going to start using them and making lots of these adorable and highly useful zipper bags so that they'll be ready when I find people who need them, how terrific!! Many thanks Misty, Liz and everybody else who brought this valuable project to us all! From Terry in Colorado
What an adorable Valentine's travel bag. I love these as well as the neat zippers to put in them! Good tutorial Misty and Natalie you are great running the camera as well as bringing up peoples comments & questions. I love watching you ladies working together , during the tutorial. Jenny doesn't have a thing to worry about, because the two of you, have it all under control . Good tutorial ladies!
Yes, I would need to cut your fabric slightly larger. The first seam with wrong sides together is 1/8” , then right sides together is 1/4” to enclose the other seam. I have only boxed two corners on some bags, but imagine you would use the same procedure for the other two. The tutorial I watched for this pattern is with Darvanalee Designs on Flosstube. She is in Australia and does a wonderful job
I will try and find the episode where she did the project bags and share that. Just found it.🙂 It is from September 17, 2019 and is titled How to make a Large Project Bag. Darvanalee Designs. I don’t recall if she showed how to box corners, but I knew how to do that. Misty explained how to box corners very well. Hope this helps!
I just made this bag for my son with manly fabrics and I made it 14” instead of 12”. I love it and plan to make me one tomorrow. I think I will add little hold tabs on each end of the zipper on any others I make.
I purchased a bag of zippers many moons ago, so l'm ready to grap a few Fat Quarters from my stash and get started. I'd like to opt for the full 14" to use ALL my zippers length. Thank you for providing such an easy tutorial. It's going to be a short learning curve and the fun creating can comnence!! Yay 🎉😂
You can serge the seams if you want them finished. Ive made these for all my granddaughters for makeup bags and they make great dopp bags for the guys. Just use fabric to match each person
Thank you for sharing this project. I had been working on gifts for each of my daughters and trying to decide how best to package them (14 cards, to be opened one a day Feb 1-14 and each with something I love or admire about them) This little bag was perfect! I tried to share a picture, but wasn't able. Thank you again!
I have made many similar bags, and yes, regular batting will work. It just wont have as much firmness to the structure. But if if your using it as a toiletry bag, slightly less firmness means it wont become misshapen in your luggage.
I love this zipper pouch idea. Misty did a terrific job showing step by step how to put it together. Since I’m really only a craft sewer, I’d love to see a second version of the video showing detailed instructions on binding the seams and adding vinyl. I zig zagged my seams, but the binding method sounds ideal to stop the fraying. I suspect the ones I made as gifts will see their way to the washing machine many times. Thank you for this splendid tutorial. BTW, I love the fancy heart zips I purchased from MSQC to make my pouches!
I made one in a blue/white polka dot and it’s awesome!! Adding tabs to either side on my next one. Such a fun project. I changed how I installed my zipper as that’s what I’m familiar with. Thanks for the tutorial 😊
Such a cute bag and very practical! Also an easy project for beginners. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow! Thanks Misty for the excellent video. I hope all is going well in Hamilton. I hope to visit again soon. 🤗🤗 Anna from Manitoba..
Hi Misty, I'm from Harvard, Il. I can not wait for all your stores to be open to all of us. I would like to see all the fabrics that are in the stores ln person. Love the protects.
Hi Misty I Like your tutorial simple and fast I am going to try and purchase some of the items those zippers are very pretty when you're on a limited income it's kind of hard to get things that you actually want you and your family have an awesome happy Tuesday and be safe
I love it! I am trying to work out how/when you could add a handle to one end. I'll have to get the "aha" moment when I make a bag I guess! Thanks for the tutorial--you can never have too many zip pouches (=

Your family is awesome and all of you do a splendid job thank you for your tutorials

You can make with a quilted placemat.
Misty you are a joy to watch!❤️
Soooo cute You are a great teacher. Thanks.

A beautiful and simple project. Thank you, Misty and Liz! 🌷🌷
Thank s Misty this project is so cute. I think I might use my serger to finish the insides.
Misty, You are always so clear & precise making your protects so fun & doable. Thank you over & over! I love this.🤗🦩
Great tutorial, thankyou Misty and Liz!
A great tutorial and looks like something that is fun to sew and functional as well! Thank you!

It is so much fun to come back to these and read the live comments. Some of the comments are funny.

Just made this bag. Sew cute and fast. The zipper really makes it so easy.
This is adorable especially using that fancy zipper, another informative and fun tutorial thanks Misty and Liz💕💕

Love the simplicity of the tote. The kids you so much!
I have made project bags using a similar process, but with French seams. For those that like finished seams, this works great.
Do you have to cut your fabric bigger for French seams?
Pam Kahmann, how do you do French seams and box the corners? Thank you.

Oh I wish I would have read this before I just got to the part to sew on my zipper! I need to try this for the next one! ❤️
This was excellent thank you!!!😊
This made so much sense to me (not confusing) and the end product is gorgeous 💖!
Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Another cute bag. Thanks Misty. I love your Tuesday projects.
They are fun and you have such a happy fun disposición. So cute!!! 😊❤
Looking forward to making this for my teenage granddaughters.
I've had a package of those zippers for 2 years. Now I understand how to apply them. Thanks for the video 😊🎄
Omg,I absolutely love this. Way easier than the other way I have made bags like these.
I just made this bag for my son with manly fabrics and I made it 14” instead of 12”. I love it and plan to make me one tomorrow. I think I will add little hold tabs on each end of the zipper on any others I make.
Good Job Misty, this is such a great project...so many choices depending on fabric..
Hello, first time tuning in live. Thanks
Awesome tutorial. Love these zippers. Thank you .

I love the way Misty says “bulk” ❤️
I have ended up making about a dozen of these little bags since watching this video! Thanks for the inspiration
I found it really helpful to sew a tab into the seam so that there is something to hold on to for opening/closing the zipper.
You can serge the seams if you want them finished. Ive made these for all my granddaughters for makeup bags and they make great dopp bags for the guys. Just use fabric to match each person
Thank you Misty, that was the quickest bag and I like the size ❤️ Chris-Raleigh NC
Love thes as gift bags! Have the zippers already!!!
Very nice zipper pouch! Great job, thanks for sharing ❤
I love your videos to learn. Also to see the different fabrics at a closer view.
Hi , Margaret from Tucson,AZ, Enjoy your projects!!!
I made a couple of these beauties,I found it needed the tabs at the ends of the zipper. I love this little cuties. Thank You
Thank you so much for a great tutorial. Love the fabric ❤️
Love a project that uses fat quarters vs yardage! I’ll definitely add pull tabs
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I made 2 and will definitely make more! Love it!

I've only quilted but I'm totally gonna make this cute bag 😊
I got my bag of zippers yesterday! Love, love, love them!!❤️❤️
I have made many similar bags, and yes, regular batting will work. It just wont have as much firmness to the structure. But if if your using it as a toiletry bag, slightly less firmness means it wont become misshapen in your luggage.
I have used foldover elastic on the raw edges and that’s quick and easy, I baste glue and then sew.
Hi great super easy project. Good use of the Bosal. Love the zipper with the hearts on.

Beautiful. Thank you so much. I think the people in my neighborhood I Minister to will each get one of these for February! Thank you! Thank you!
Love this! Super cute and looks very simple! Love the zipper!

Thank you Liz! I finally can hear you!!!
Cute project great gift.
You make it look so easy
Misty...whom ever dreamed up this zipper is a genius. So cute & easy to put in!
What else can you you use the interfacing for.
so cute and I love making bags to use up my practice quilt sandwiches now that I have the cutie frame !
Thanks, a great project with great instructions. 👍❤️😊
What a cute bag! Great video! 💛💚💙💜🤎

Adorable project!

Loved the project. Great job
Misty your nails🙌🏽💯💅🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this, have made a lot of these, but added a handle on the end.
You have no idea how badly I wanted to serge the seams! Apparently I have a sickness. Love the bag and great tutorial....thank you!💜
I make a similar bag. After I cut the points off, I zig zag the seams.
How cute!!
Needs a tab to grab when zipping! Great bag.
Looks like something I could do! Awesome!
Loved this!!!
The interfacing is fused to the fabric, so you don’t need to finish edges unless you want to. It won’t unravel.
Great Tutorial.
Great tutorial
I got 2 of these zippers in my Christmas box and wasn't sure what to do with it. Never used zippers, but now I know and will try this out, thanks.
cute bag, love the zipper
That was great! Thank you!
Hi from Scotland 🏴
Gorgeous I'm making one of these!
Darling project. !!
God Bless from Grand Rapids Mi
Hi from Newcastle Australia
Great for gifts
Such a sweet gift! And fast too! Off to buy some BOSAL 💃🤣.....
I love it! I am trying to work out how/when you could add a handle to one end. I'll have to get the "aha" moment when I make a bag I guess! Thanks for the tutorial--you can never have too many zip pouches (=
