I, too, am stuck at different ages of childhood trauma within my body and mind, and suspect I have created similar emotional blockages in raising up our daughter. I feel what you are saying, Amy, about still being a frightened three-year-old inside of ourselves. I am certainly noticing how I am lacking in developing my path in life; also, the person I am dating remarks my lack of progression in life skills. No one else has remarked this before, nor have I ever felt the lack as strongly as I do now at age 51. I can begin the journey of earning secure attachment and perhaps help our daughter avoid decades of pain and self-doubt. Luckily, she excels in her career, so she possesses strength and bravery in that area. Take care, and peace to all.

It’s so funny to know that God doesn’t allow anyone to go through anything ALONE, for years your life sounds JUST LIKE MINE & for once I feel like I am not alone & that there is HOPE to become a better woman, I have been doing most of the work & when you said your mature side starts to speak I can relate because instead of going into shame or guilt or self pity , I now have a beautiful inner self that’s speaks life over me whenever I’m feeling an old trigger. I really appreciate you answering the call to share your story, and help US behind you because this is what LIFE is about !
We are different ages, colors & people but shared a similar life, there is the ONLY ONE LIVING BEING THAT LIVES WITHIN EACH OF US & with that being said ✨✨✨ ONE LOVE, ONE LIGHT ✨✨✨

This was incredibly helpful. Particularly resetting the baseline and learning the parasympathetic NS response, and integrating the parts so I can stop slipping into limbic and gaslighting myself into connections that hurt me. I've been sabotaging myself despite my best efforts!
I've spent a lot of time reading etc like you said, and not been soothing myself out of the trauma response. I feel like I have a new understanding.
This is amazing news! I think self gaslighting is more common than we think, and in my own journey the more awareness I have the more I'm amazed at ways I do it (and awareness leads to change).

How to do bottom up healing? Can you please elaborate? I can totally related to this but don't know how to do it.
One way is Somatic experiencing - for me it clicked when I watched a Teal Swan video (how to process emotions), you sit with the discomfort of the emotion and sink into it rather than trying to make it go away, eventually it will fizzle and transform into a different emotion or calm

SE can be helpful but it’s not always targeted to the abandonment energy in the body.
You need to take a breath between sentences. All your sentences just run together, reducing the effectiveness of your high quality info.
