This went pretty well and I got good results. A couple of things with the rear brakes, you can buy different caliper adaptors that will mount the caliper where the old one was, much like the front. Also, the Zimmerman rotors didn't fit flush on the hub. I had to take a very small amount of the outer diameter of the hub for the rotor to fit flush. Other than that, it was a good conversion. Thanks for watching, getting that master in right now!
@@afternoongarage Thanks for the additional info! My build is going a bit slower than hoping, but definitely will be coming back to these extremely informational videos! Keep em coming!
Not sure about that one. The problem is now getting the CNC adaptors. There used to be a guy that had the machine and cut a bunch of sets. I can't find him anymore and some suggest they went out of business since their CNC equipment was found on the web on a used tool auction site. The master was around $300, brake calipers $800, rotors $600 and then there is the adapters which I paid around $250. Hard lines and fasteners can be had through your local parts retailer. Elephant racing has a kit as well. Lucky for me, the calipers were sticky and wouldn't release so I solved a problem while getting an upgrade. The car stops great with this upgrade.
Great job ! ! You answered a lot of my questions that I had as I work on my car. KP
This is great! I am in the process of building my LS3 swapped 87 coupe. And will definitely be taking this project on!. Thanks

Very nice vid thanks. If I had my local Porsche dude install upgraded brakes like you did what should I expect to pay?
