Ministry in the Metaverse - A Fad or New Frontier to Preach the Gospel?

- EDMOND, Okla. - Even as COVID restrictions relax, many houses of worship have found it difficult to attract returning parishioners at their pre-pandemic attendance levels. The resulting physical and financial drop-off further complicates the worrying trend of church closures outpacing new ones to replace them.
But the shift also stirred a religious awakening of sorts, forcing once reluctant pastors and church leaders to rethink their outreach and adopt widely-used technology, like livestreaming which has allowed them to reach audiences far beyond their church walls.
Now some faith leaders are considering what's next on the technology horizon and the implications for ministry, eying the unchartered world of the metaverse to plant churches and preach the gospel.

Love the hipocrasy in this comment section. Ya'll claiming to be all religious and self righteous yet you sit there judging people when you claim only god can judge and making assumptions solely on your fear. This is 2022, we're out of the dark ages, grow up and start treating other people better. How about the people that can't go to church? People disabled, sick, or maybe have social anxiety or mental issues that make being in a physical church difficult. There is nothing wrong with VR, It's a social platform and like everything else, should be used in moderation. Im a 911 dispatcher and Firefighter, I don't have the time to attend a physical church, not to mention my local ones are awful. This allows me my 1 hour of prayer and faith with other people each week. Ya'll acting like all we do is put on the headset 24/7 and nothing else.

yes I know that we cant forsake the assembly I so agree with that but I also see that even in person churches just dont read the word of God Chapter by Chapter and Verse by Verse as it should have always been :( thats why i use the Tecarta Bible app/ KJV only that does read word for word and Chapter by Chapter and without human interpretation. but very sadly that never has been not even CBN does that and I dont trust CBN at all . and as far as bringing the church into Metaverse as far as I'm concerned that will be a frikken Huge mistake. cuz again no1 just reads the word of God CH. by CH. and Verse by Verse. :(
You finding some metaverse play to earn game to play? I playing Zombie World Z so i recomend it. The game have big community and the price really stablizing, so you can invest and re back your investment just 2-30 days ROI
The Meta verse animation/avatar s in this video remind me so much of the old music video by fire straits money for nothing. It looks kinda cool, very primitive though.
Ohhh no! Christian's need each other, need face to face and to gather in God's name. Call me old fashion, but fantasy world of people worshiping as robots, cats, or shepherds seems just plan wrong to me.
I wont be joining any church in metaverse thats as far as I will go.
