This video is a life saver. I took apart my washer in less than 10 min and found that the reason why my washer would not start was because there was a small sock stuck inside the water pump component. Took out the sock, put the washer back together and BOOM! it works!!

Can you describe what your washing machine symptoms were ? I believe I may have the same issue. Before I take it apart I’d like to know what you guys symptoms were. Mine won’t spin unless I give the agitator a spin by hand

    • @franke7389
      @franke7389 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@jamiehenderson7844 when the time came for my washer to spin and drain the water out of my washer tub, the washer would spin a couple times and then stop. All the water would still be standing in the tub. I would try to reset the settings dial and then again the washer would spin Maybe 3 times and then stop. There was a sock in my water pump. So when the agitator was trying to spin and have the pump suck out the water, the sock was in the way.

This is why i love youtube, right here.
My washer wasnt draining/spinning all the way. Thru a bunch of videos I diagnosed the problem and then came to this video and left it on.
Taught me everything i needed to know about my washer. I almost think i mite try to collect old washers and dryers, repair them and then sell them.
Like geez, this video made it so simple.
I could of bought another one for 700$( which is ridiculous, especially because ypu be lucky if they last 5 years before a repair is needed.)
I could of called someone who would of charged me around 200$.
Or i could watch youtube, take 3 hours of research, diagnosis and repair/slash wait for amazon.
    And wah lah.....
7 fricking dollars and 3 hours of my time.
It only took me so long because i was drinking and having fun putzing around, could of done it in an hour otherwise.
Just awesome, amazing, information at my fingertips.
Its stuff like this that makes me proud to be a human and in aww of our collective ingenuity.
Now socially and politically is a lil different but this brings me back to hope.
Thank u kind sirs who made this video possible.

Excellent video. I needed to see how the back of my old Kenmore came accessible so I could replace the water inlet valve and this video showed exactly that. A 14 dollar part and one hours labor saved the old faithful Kenmore from the trash and saved me hundreds of dollars on buying one of the new touchscreen nightmares that are sold as washers now. thank you.

I recently worked on a Kenmore 70 series washer, the lady said it was 31 years old! Turns out, the last repair man didn't reconnect the lid switch to the harness properly and left the outer pump hose lose and un clamped. I took it completely apart, inspected, and reassembled it back after I repaired it a few minor issues with the back spring and chassy being bent badly and bending the frame's pins back in place. I was very impressed with how solid Kenmore makes their appliances, that think is a tank! I've rebuilt crosley washer, dryers, and stoves abs they more easier, but Kenmore, maytag, and other high-end appliances are like tanks! These videos have greatly helped me out and I love repairing and rebuilding appliances!

Thank you very much. My washer is around 13 years old and just all of a sudden stopped spinning but would agitate just fine. Ended up being highly rusted in the inside tank shaft. Cleaning it up with scraper, wire brush and WD40. Did the trick. Also had to use wire brush and WD40 to clean up the tank bolt before able to unscrew. I didn't have a spanner wrench. So after cleaning up top and bottom of the tank bolt, a small blunt cold chisel and hammer got it lose. Thanks again Repair clinic!!!! Couldn't have done it without you.

They are very easy to work on and with the exception of maybe one or 2 parts all the parts are readily available, not trying to sound like a ancient person but truly the new washers are awful, they are loaded with electronics that go out very easily and often and they have all these "environment people" mandated nonsense features it takes twice the time to do laundry, not sure how that helps the environment.

@@Chris-zp6eh Yes! It was the agitator. As I recall, my washer would barely agitate (turn forward 2 steps, back one, forward 2 steps, back one). It was barely turning, especially when it was really full of towels or blankets. I got part 470915 from Repair Clinic (www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Agitator-Repair-Kit/285825/470915) and it totally fixed my washer for $40 and no repairman. What the heck is that foam gasket that hangs around that bell shaped housing that the basket drive sits in ( @ 8:00) and what does it do? My very similar 29522800 started making horrible grinding noises under load, so I went after the usual neutral drain parts in the transmission and replaced the agitator dogs for good measure. Didn't change squat, so there's a new machine coming tomorrow. No other parts appeared broken and the noise started rather suddenly. I thought I was onto something when I saw that gasket thing as it didn't appear to be able to serve any useful purpose where it was, but the one in the video is exactly the same, all the way down to those two squashed 'U' shaped bends which look like they were displaced by some screws. Mine was even twisted over on itself in a couple spots and was quite loose. -Thanks!

Out of curiosity, do you (or anyone else who may read this) have a video showing the proper reassembly of outer tub, onto the body, along with the proper alignment for the mounting plate (part that sits between frame and outer tub, above the motor), and springs?
I had to replace a pump, and ended up discovering the tub was quite filthy, presumably owing to my use of budget detergent pods... So I took the whole outer tub off to clean. My problem is despite putting everything back together correctly as per the video, some of my tear down exceeded what was covered here, and I am now trying to trouble shoot some destabilization during the spin cycle, which I beleive is related to the alignment of the mounting plate or how I reattached the spring assembly.
Great video though, I could not have found and fixed the leak without this! Thank you so very much!

The agitator bolts are typically 7/16" on machines made in the US.

I have a model 11023032101, but the panel looks exactly as the video's. I don't, however, have a bolt that secures the lower agitator. The illustrated parts breakdown doesn't show one either. I can't pull the lower agitator off the shaft. Any suggestions?

This is amazing. But could anyone tell me what I should look at, mine is leaving my clothes sopping wet. Even just two shirts and a pair of jeans. Is there a filter of some sorts etc that may clogged that I could check?

Edit:nvm I bought one from you, came to $50 Canadian, but $3 of that is the quicker shipping

Ok so I have torn apart my machine. It is making a horrible noise while trying to spin out and does not spin out at all. As I was tearing it apart I noticed it looks like the transmission is leaking a sort of oil. I plan on replacing my transmission coupler. Would you suggest to replace the transmission and the basket drive or just on or the other. I need help diagnosing my issue with the oil leaking.

Quick question: is the cabinet top welded or is it screwed to the cabinet sides? I have limited space through a doorway but OK once I'm in for the washer.
I think if I can disassemble the washer it will fit through the doorway. Thanks a million!

What is the point of the spring (1:21) if the screw is fully tightened, thus completely compressing the spring? I just replaced the cogs in mine and I'm still not sure why the spring is there.

@ 2:38, the ide pieces can't be detached just by pulling back from my Kenmore Elite. That piece is bigger & wraps to the side. I even removed the screw that seems to hold it to the back piece.

Okay, have our old Kenmore model 110.26692502 completely taken down. The problem is that everything works but the spin cycle. I can get the tub to spin if I start it by hand and quickly close the lid. The tub was rusted tight to the agitator shaft, but we got it of with a little persuasion with a piece of 2X4 spruce. Now, the problem is all the parts look fine. Is there a clutch somewhere that could be slipping, or could the rust have kept the tub from spinning?
Great video! It's not exactly the same as the one shown in the video, but close enough to get done. Thanks for your help.

If you still have the problem, that's a spin clutch.

Can anyone help me with my problem? I have a Kenmore 80 series and it was not working properly. I first noticed my clothes were wetter than usual when unloading so I payed attention to a complete wash cycle to realize the only noticeable change was not starting the spin at a high speed it had to build up to reach maximum speed. Meanwhile washing still and just drying a bit longer till I figure it out. After a wk or so i was going to do a small load and I had filled with water and getting ready to add detergent I noticed it quit agitating too and since I didn’t add close I didn’t pay attention to whether it spun out at all or as it had prior. Since I had no idea what I was doing and wasn’t positive I figured I’d go ahead n change the clutch and the motor coupling. I did so put it all back together and turned it on- agitated fine when it got to the spin it spun out however it made an awful noise doing so- my question is what could I have done wrong or not got back properly in place to make a noise from hell - it really sounded bad but it did quit making that noise before it completed the cycle. I just feel like it is something I did or didn’t do and I don’t want to mess it up any further, I can not afford another right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated and my apologies if I don’t get back to anyone promptly I do not have internet service at my home so my time is limited.

Got a Kenmore Series 300 and its automatic water level sensing appears to be malfunctioning. It never adds enough water. I know these are water saving washer's but they are not adding enough water even on small loads. Is there a way to turn off automatic water level sensing? The clothes on top stay on top the whole wash and do not properly clean. A case of being over-engineered to a fault I'd say.

The inner tub we still could not lift out. We probably have older model. Too much mold and dirt is inside, and we were not able to disassembly it to clean through. Stinks with mold. And underneath the oil is leaking. May be we just need to throw it away? It looks like iver 20 years old. We just bought the house and now dealing with it.

I think it's funny that they used a Craftsman Evolve ratchet to take off the agitator on a Kenmore machine.
