I agree with your take regarding the kobe influenced designs Nike is releasing. It's cool to see the legacy of the Kobe line in so many of today's shoes but when specifically looking at Nikes signature Basketball sneakers, you see almost no variation. It especially bothers me on the Jordan side were Luka, Tatum, and Zions signature shoes almost all looked alike- with a protruding peice of plastic along the side being a key element of their designs.
Scooped a pair recently for casual wear. Nice to have a shoe that’s versatile for both street wear and being solid on the court. Side note Bring Back HESRIPS!
Whats the sizing like?
I know the weight is mentioned a ton but these are in fact too heavy to hoop in. They begin to weigh on you in a long playing session. As a guard I feel like a SF, PF or big/combo guards will benefit from this shoe. It does look good though, you can rock these casually!
Dude i like your videos, but this feel more like a sponsored campaign than a shoe review/showcase. You didn't mention how the fit, if they're narrow or wide, how comfortable they are, how stable they are, how's the outsole, etc.

I don't know why but to me both the AE1 and the hardens have an Adidas Kobe sneakers feel to them. Like if you told me the AE1 was supposed to be the Kobe 3, I wouldn't argue. Same thing with Harden's shoe from last year and this year. They look so futuristic, it feels in line with the Kobe 1 with the fro-be logo

The ae1 are very clean i wish the latest hardens 7,8,9 put tongues on the shoes for style points

There's a slight misconception in regards to the "Blow out" situation only for the fact sometimes there are specifica athletes - that like to wear their shoe they;ve broken in more than a number of times - not realizing the amount of torque they put in the shoe. That amount of force (physics) and torque break-down the shoe until the constructed materials can't last more than said amount of games(practices). If AE decied to wear the same shoe to practice/game for probably more than 5-8 games, that shoe would do the same thing with the weardown of the stitching/glue/intergrated upper. Some athletes - in order to break-in the shoe - wear it during practice/shootaround to break-in - so by the time game rolls around - the shoe is well broken in with/or without custom orthotics to mold to the foot well.
So are these comfortable off the court just as an every day shoe? How’s the fit? Comfort? The price is great for sure.

Just got the ascent colorway. Im a nike and anta user. AE 1 is very comfortable yes but very heavy! Too much room inside.

I wasn’t sold on these at first but I’ve come around. I like how they look. Those Hardens are terrible. If Adidas would chill with their ugly branding on everything - if it wasn’t so pronounced on the back they’d look 100x better. That’s the only part that makes me overall pass on these when I am interested in trying. Hopefully Adidas makes some decent stuff in future, outside of Ultraboost, some 4D’s and the ZX 2K (1.0’s) their stuff is just .. ugly. (Accidentally posted this as a reply to a random comment, my B to that guy)
i have yet to find a comfortable pair of basketball shoes for wide and flat feet. need the width and support.
