I’m on my 3rd 1100 shadow (1988,2004,2007 about 55,00 miles) personally I don’t want abs I’m in total control of my bike. Love them ride without working on them.
Nice looking bike man ;) Yeah I can confirm if you are super tall its not a good fit, I actually looked at one of these but it felt pretty awkward because of my half giant stature lol
They're great bikes. Had one about 30 years ago. I think it's a great bike for a beginner. It really is. It's low powered, light, low, easy to balance, and reliable. Perfect non-intimidating bike for a new rider. I wasn't too new of a rider when I got mine, but I hadn't ridden in several years and wanted to ease back in. It was great fun for the year I had it. Next bike was a Harley Softail. Talk about a huge step up! Lol But I had fun on that little girl until one day, it felt way too small and I began my 25+ yr Harley riding career. I've took another pause from riding (wife didn't dig the the danger). Got back into riding last year and have a Kawi z900rs café. It's fast nimble and nostalgic. Love it! Hope to get another Harley bagger before too long. Prob a used Road Glide. FWIW, I'm only 5'5" so that made me feel that much more comfortable with its size.
I have a 2007 shadow 600. Great starter bike but for one exception. It's got a 4 speed. That means it's SHOCKINGLY BAD on the highway. You're a hazard who can't get out of his own way and when you do, you're maxing it out. I think the engineer who decided on the 4 speed costed honda A LOT OF MONEY and a few lives along the way. I think he should be drummed out of the industry and black-balled from motorcycle design. There is no good reason to hold out on a 5 speed. Heck the 4 is probably more expensive. Nobody wants one. You are going to need at least a 40 tooth rear sprocket to get up to 75 or 80. If it can't get on the highway, what are you doing selling it in America and calling it street legal? Most driving is on freeways.

Oh, and they sound damn good for only a 600!
@6:07 Looking for that missing 5th gear? My biggest gripe about my VLX was the gearing.
Hey, I'm looking at reviving my 04 shadow - just picked it up. Any particular issues you ran into?
Keep the carb clean. Run it every day or other day. Check the carb boots, rubber hardens over time
A harley 45" is a 3 speed 20hp....so what....that vlx is great!
In brazil, the color is grená, ai have one Black 2003 in Brazil, i love

It can easily handle the highway. What are you talking about.
