Hello. Nice work done on the VT600. Congratulations! I'm renovating a 2000 model here in Brazil. My biggest challenge is with the fuel pump and adjusting the carburetion. I'll make some videos soon, when I'm ready. I took as inspiration the air filter, exhaust pipes and painting of the wheels. Sorry for my English, I don't know much about that language.
I went the opposite way of customizing my Honda vt600. It's one of the few modern bike's that can be fitted with a 1970's era Vetter Windjammer fairing. I found an old Kawasaki touring bike in a junk yard with all the Vetter gear fitted on it. The fairing, bags, and trunk. I designed and fabricated brackets to mount the fairing to the bike's frame which was going to be the most difficult part of the build. I succeed in doing that and was very happy with the result. The bags and trunk were easy. Now it's a light touring bike or Bagger. Everyone around here calls it the Shadow Wing. It's actually better than the early 80's GL500 Silverwing I purchased new back when Honda made light touring motorcycles.
Badass piece you got there brother! I currently have a 2002 Honda Shadow ACE VT750CDA. I'm curious how much was the jet-kit and the pipes you installed?
Do you know exactly what bars you have those look awesome! Been looking for a set like them, and curious where you got your rear fender? Sick build man!
Thank you, I appreciate it! These are 6” z bars from lowbrow customs. And I’m not sure about the fender. It was on the bike when I bought it but I’m pretty sure it’s a short bobber fender from TJ Brutal Customs.
I wish I had more friends that rode bobbers. I'm the only one in the group with one lol, they all have stock harley's and V Stars or ZX6R's and shit. Lol and here I am with my 650 V Star Bobbed out
It’s not too bad! Especially if it’s only a single carburetor. This was my first attempt at it and it was pretty easy. A little tedious changing out jets a few times to get the right combination but overall extremely worth it.
Thanks guys. I did it one time because the bike was running weird. The hardest part was reaching all the hoses and screws, especially when putting it back on
It’s just used as the coolant overflow tank. Originally the overflow tank is where my battery is now so I just rerouted the coolant line to the bottle mounted on the side of the bike.
I own the bike in the video. I guess that would depend on your idea of slow. Haha. Compared to my cbr600rr the shadow is extremely slow. But it’s fast enough to have plenty of fun on. And due to my bike being a hard tail I don’t think I need it much faster. Open exhaust and intake, bigger carb jets and a sprocket change helped a lot.
Hey what’s up? I’m the dude in the video. I’m about 1.8m I believe. With taller bars it’s pretty comfortable and you also have the option to move the foot pegs forward to get extra leg length if you need.
I’m about 5’9” and as you can see my legs are at a pretty comfortable angle. These 600’s are pretty small. They do make foot control extensions and if you pick the right set of bars to make your arms comfortable you should be good.
Hay bro I need some good advice on how you did your bike,I'm not quite there but mine I bobbed out also black and red .do u have an email I can reach u at.
Don’t most people learn to wear pants when riding around the age of 5? Lol 7,000 miles on it so far this year and not a single burn. I can literally sit my leg on the pipe while riding and not burn my pants. Not to mention the stock exhaust is next to your leg in an even worse spot. But thanks for looking out.
@@kennypool I get it, and I appreciate the stress on being safe. I’m the guy in my group that gets on everyone for not wearing gear. Which is why I wear a helmet, pants, long sleeves, gloves and over the ankle protective riding shoes every time I get on any of my bikes. I’m a pipe welder for a living and built this bike for my union’s yearly motorcycle ride. Didn’t want to cover up the pretty stainless.

One of the best looking VLXs out there nice job
Thank you. Joey did a great job!
Wow, thank you very much. I had a lot of fun building and still ride it 3 years later.

Would be cool if you posted a short video on your channel to show it off....heck, you built it...show that thing off...its got me curious now!😉
@@PhantomOfThePsy-Opera I do have a video of it on my channel. It's a little shaky because I'm and old man. Just go to my channel and have a look.
I love the Whisky bottle on your left side
Love those Motor PsychoL J pipes!
Enjoy The Noise! 🤘
Rims and Tires are the show! Beautiful bike
Thanks. I'll pass on that on to Joey.
Thank you very much! I had a lot of fun building it.
Rad... just rad... Honda Shadow's are cool 😎

Any Honda with corboraters the float is a must to be set at the right hight they are no in-betweens especially. Changing jets to difference size
Looks Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honda shadow is a living example of how the Japanese took something American and then made it 10 times better than the American ones

It's the font fender. That was done a lot on these bikes before TJ started making fenders
It’s definitely not the front fender. I have the front fender still and it’s very different.
hello, can you tell me which wires I have to take to install the start button? .. shadow looks beautiful by the way👍👍

Great looking bike congrats! Did you powder coat the top triple tree? How about the forks and speedometer? Is that paint or powder coat
Everything is powder coat except the tank, fender and engine.
@@JoeyPBuilt right on thanks!
I wanna change my exhaust too but don’t want to deal with tuning

Learn your carb. The single carb is easier than I had imagined. No big deal
Thanks guys. I did it one time because the bike was running weird. The hardest part was reaching all the hoses and screws, especially when putting it back on
Great bike ! Did you have to replace the stock cables to install those mini apes ?
These are stock cables and wiring. The bars are 6” tall. I hear you can go up to around 10” tall before needing to lengthen cables.
Colors look good. where did you get the pipes? Bike is badass 👍
Thank you! The pipes are from a guy named Justin Alexander. He can be found on Facebook at Motor PsychoL J’s.
@@JoeyPBuilt thanks bro. Ride safe
I have a 1100 shadow pipes are louder then my friends 1800cc harley n im have a over charge problem
Yea look s great, too bad it ain't a Sportster!
What size jets did you run and how many turns on the mix screw
What kind of bars are those man? Wanting to put the same ones on mine
I want to make bobber paint it nardo gray with black stripe or a pearl white with a matte white stripe .
That would be cool
Love the look of the pipes! Did you build or buy the exhaust?
Thank you! These pipes were built by a guy named Justin Alexander. He can be found on Facebook at Motor psychoL J’s.
You may have said it. But. What main and pilot is he running with that stack?
That's bad ass man👍
may i ask what it the purpose of the jack daniels bottle on the side?
It’s just used as the coolant overflow tank. Originally the overflow tank is where my battery is now so I just rerouted the coolant line to the bottle mounted on the side of the bike.
Dude I need that on mine!
Im getting a hard tail shadow like yours are they slow?

How tall are you ? I want to buy a vt 600 bobber and im 1,90m big. Am I to tall ?

@@JoeyPBuilt okay thanks dude helped me a lot i didnt know That ☺️
How long and how much was the build?
Would you recommend a 6ft guy on a 600 shadow

What I want to know is why do so many people build these 600 Honda's ?
Cause they look and ride badass and will outlast a harley

Factory foot controls, or do you Have forward controls?
Factory location. I’ve been thinking about extending them a couple inches though.

When you burn the skin off your leg put that on TH-cam so others can learn.

@@JoeyPBuilt o.k. if you say so. Why not tack on some decorative exhaust schields. Stop risking being scared for life over a stupid bike
