I LOVE this video!! So much useful information and perspective! Literally this is like gold for anyone who wants to expand their horizons into crabbing!☝️🇺🇲
Definitely bringing my kayak next time I'm on the oregon coast. Looks like a lot more fun than the Newport pier. Great video I enjoy watching all of them.
Oh I'd love to go out with u...I have 2 problems, I live on the east coast and I don't have a kayak....we'll make 3 problems, I'm also 61 years old with back problems. I'd never be able to get in and out of them....lol. At least I can watch u.
I've got a Bonafide SS127 that I'd love to see how it handles crabbin'. It's not powered though so I anticipate an amazing arm workout. As far as bearings haha bearing buddy is a misleading term, my Sea-Doo trailer had bearing issues and that was just lake water.
NICE! Amazing haul. I've got to get a boat... I don't think I'm agile enough to be on a kayak but I see classified ads for pretty great somewhat affordable 15 foot aluminum boats popping up weekly. How amazing to have the bay to yourselves. On a recent trip to Tillamook Bay I was the only one on the crabbing pier for a couple of hours and it was really awesome. Did you make anything special with this haul? Did you get to accomplish the dungeness quesadilla?
Unlimited budget? The one I'm on. Spot lock is godsent. The ability to hold in one spot to retie/setup/manage gear is incredible. I'd also get a Solix 12 as well.
@@oregonlife I missed the make a model of the one you have. Can you supply make and model and any must have accessories that you have? I really appreciate the help.
I have a Hobie Pro Angler I want to take crabbing at Yaquina. Great vids PK.
Great haul, PK, tight lines! ☺️✌️🎣
Love watching your videos PK!
You got video of that one jumping out of my kayak! That was a fun trip PK! Let’s do it again soon.
Yea, for sure, Barry. That was a fun trip. We'll definitely be out there again soon.
I'm craving some crabs now. Good job PK.
Good stuff PK! Hopefully weather gets better soon so I can get myself out there.

I bet that you're feeling better about the next crab boil now!
Makes me wish my kayak was big enough for the bay!
Yup. If you ever get one, we'd love to have ya tag along.

Nice. Good eating!
Im getting my first Kayak and would like to get out and do some crabbing
Very nice catches!! Get the butter ready!! Is it better crabbing at night or dark conditions or is the water calmer than?
Crabbing at night is definitely more productive, assuming the tide isn't flowing very fast. If it's fast, they tend to dig into the sand.
NICE!
Amazing haul.

Nothing special. Being on a kayak just lets you get to places that are less pressured (vs docks). No quesadilla, next time.
Think it feel upside down cause of the air inside the pvc pipe maybe 13:22
I watch all your videos all the time, but I do have a question about the See perch, is there a size limit above and below?
In Oregon, no size limit.
Where is Yaquina?
I remember crabbing at Garabaldi Oregon.
Newport.
Crab escape 19:13. 😛
as for bait, have u ever tried marinating chicken in any scents? thanks for video.
No. Raw chicken has enough scent already, I find.
How can I buy them????
Which Kayak and what accessories would you purchase if you had an unlimited budget?

are there business in Oregon that provide Kayak fishing/crabbing guides?
oh, that's a good question. I don't know if there are. I usually go with friends to Waldport, if you're in that area.
@oregonlife I am in corvallis. Once I get all the gear I need and more comfortable with my kayak In bigger water I will head to waldport.
Raw Chicken? How about Raw Gull?
