I have dock and boat crabbed at kellys. Great place! The owner is kelly. He saved my friend’s life when my buddy sank his boat in the bay. Kelly rescued him and didn’t make a big deal out of it…but it really was. Cheers to kelly!
To break up the ice in the bag when it’s frozen solid, lift the bag and drop it to the ground rotating the bag to be dropped from different angles. This assures you get all the ice in cubes. Hope this helps 🙂
Thanks, PK for another enjoyable video. Especially like this one since I'm planning my first crabbing outing with my sisters early October and we were planning on Kelly's Marina, so extra thanks for the info on Kelly's. I had to laugh as you were counting the catch and one was moving towards Jeff's bare feet for a toe pinch LOL. I look forward to seeing your next outing!
Another great video PK! I just bought a new Tohatsu 50 with Tiller making it easier to work crab pots hand lines fishing rods and hill nets. Installing electronics today ! Woohoo! Keep up the great content! Ncwarrior62 from Outerbanks of North Carolina! Tightlines Brother!
Pretty sure a buddy and I rented a boat out of that marina a couple decades ago... Don't remember much more than that! Lol Stoopid old age-ish! 😖🤣 PK, come back to Siletz Bay and night-crab with me with the Crab Daddy's!! 👍🍻 Tight Lines, Brother!!
You can weigh down your trap by tie wrapping down rebar cut into pieces to fit on the bottom. Like an X criss cross, or square around the sides or both. Depends on your fishing area tide pull or tide speed. I hope this helps you make it easier .
Some guys are opposed to this because of it creating what some call a "hot pot" I'm sure it's just an old wives tale but look it up there are guys that say they catch crab regardless but there's others that say you would do better without rebar
@@CovidFart I just looked it up. I’ve noticed people talking about it on the fishing forums. They talk about an electrical charge that’ll run over your pots. I’m not an electrician, but I’ve seen guys use it, and time after time, they’re pulling in pots full of crab. To each their own experiences. Perhaps you can put it to your own test. Try it. Take two traps or multiple traps and drop them off in an area where you’re catching crab, and put it to the test. And let’s see if it’s true. Does the charge affect you, or does it affect the crab? I read how some guys would put the rebar in pvc pipes to shield the electrical charge. I would seek out an electrical scientist who can provide scientific data on this type of experiment. Or is this scientifically proven?
It's just a square crab trap that's very common. You can get them on Amazon. Search for "Crab traps" on Amazon, you'll find plenty. I got mine from Bi-Mart in Corvallis. I think it was about $30.
PK, I'm just setting up for crabbing from a boat, traps instead of snares. What traps are you using and where did you purchase them? Any pros or cons to the folding traps?
PK uses mostly ProMar with built in bait holder.. I use the Danielson square collapsible traps you can find at Walmart for $20! They work pretty good.. the promar traps usually sell at places like Bimart or fishermens marine.. a little more expensive and don’t collapse for easy storage
"Pressure" in fishing jargon means well fished. A "high pressure" lake means it is fished frequently and the fish are less likely to take the bait or mostly undersized fish are left.
Further explanation, in Oregon and WA only male dungeness can be kept. So lots of female and undersize crab could be a result of lots of people crabbing, keeping large males, and leaving mostly females and small males.
The best are "months that end in R" as the crab mostly molt in early summer and by the fall they have better filled out their shells. Otherwise you may be catching soft shell crab or they don't have much meat in the shell.

Deadliest Catch! Love it!!!!
Great video! I cant wait to go do that too. That looks like an awesome time.
Nice catch. I used to fish the Nehalem a little further inland in the late 70s.
I love Kelly’s! 🦀 never been in a boat usually dock crab
You need a second stationary camera. The motion sickness I got wasnt from the boat.
Carlo Rossi is the college special! Only thing possibly worse is Franzia. Drank plenty in my days in Corvallis at Oregon State
Great day crabbing.
Looks like 👍 a great meal to me...
You have to get the right flavor of CARLOS ROSSI MY GUY! Rhine AND DONT FORGET THE ICE!!!
Thank you 🙏
Why the pvc pipe in the bottom of the trap? Weights?
Pretty sure a buddy and I rented a boat out of that marina a couple decades ago... Don't remember much more than that! Lol

What was the price for two limits of crab?
Another great video just wondering what was the name of your new crab trap and where did u buy it? Thxs

Where did you buy those colorful twist ties you are using to keep the trap closed? Do they last considering they are used in salt water?
They're called "nite ize". They got them at Home Depot, and amazon
I noticed the long sleeves, was this filmed recently?

Lots of female crabs indicate bay is high pressure? As in atmosphere?

What month can go catch crab because it first time for me
In Oregon, the best time is from September to December.

Yesssir 👍🏿 👍🏿 🦀 🦀 🦀
Put some kind of identifying sticker or name on your buoy to make it easier in knowing it's yours
We used chicken there worked great a group of 4 camp for a night and limit that night and the next morning and went home
Keep the ice separate from cooked crab. Thank me later.
I don't know why you can't keep females. They're good eating, especially the big heavy ones. In Maryland, we use bushel baskets.
Because they are reproducers.
Keeps the population from being extinct.
Crab
Who’s the dead weight with shaved legs? 😂 All he’s doing is thinking it’s a summer day and telling PK what to do 😂
Lol what a bum
GOD SAID THAT CRAB IS NOT FOOD. 😎🎸
Oh well....
What in the name of god possessed you to drink Carlo Rossi?
Your better off covering your catch with plastic and then with ice.
Pk time
You lose some weight PK?
