PK great video! This is the perfect example of having a great time living life to the fullest!! I will have to try this one day. Thank you for the tips!
Pk thank you so much for all of your videos. I listen to you all day while I work your knowledge and zest for life and what you do is so fun to listen to. I would love to surf fish one day. Thank you for getting me through my work day, Monica.
PK, I used to do this also. B U T... With a little twist. I would get about 4 or 5 whole Shad and wrap them around my legs with that GREEN Garden wire. Then walk out to the shallows, and within 30 to 40 seconds those guys would show themselves. Clean-up is smelly, but the end results make up for the slime.
@@Gigi_xyz23 Only a little, because they DON'T crawl that fast! I was constantly moving. If you start to admire your catch, then that's on you!!! Hahahaha.
I watched the video of you guys doing this at night but this one showed me the type of area needed. I just happen to have a spot I would like to try. In our case it would have to be at high tide though or there are a few bays we could do it at. Tanks for showing us something fun and different!
PK your a man of your word! been waiting for this video and reminding you for it a long time thank you very much , i really appreciate the time you put in on these great videos! now we just need the seal assaulting a crab trap video once again thank you, moving to Corvallis in March from Florida, looking fwd to running into you on the beaches
Ah yes. I got that seal in my sight. I gotta find some shad so they can really attack it. Congrats on moving to Corvallis. It is a very nice place to live.
I’m heading out to Newport Tuesday Oct. 19th and will probably be at the pier about 10-11pm until Wednesday morning. I’m hoping to get a good haul with some tasty red rocks! Keep up the great videos 😆 oh, wish me luck 🤗
Those aren't anchovies they are candle fish! and they are breeding and laying eggs. One off salmons fav food you will actually see salmon with noses rubbed raw from them plowing the sand when fishing "Banks"(shallow flat regions of bottom below the water surrounded by step drop offs into deep water. Fished with needle fish spoon right behind down rigger ball while pounding down rigger ball making constant contact with bottom imatting salmon routing up candle fish also be sure to hang on you may even end up with a hali!
Netart Bay, park at Happy Camp public park (or near Terimore motel on Crab ave), walk left one or two blocks, evening low tides 5-9pm is best cuz crabs don't dig down in the sand like during the day because of predators.
Clams yes. But I would look for minus tides for that. Lower is better. Crabbing is slow now, this is the slower part of the season (best times are in the fall). But who knows.
Oh no raking the sea bed? Isn't that damaging the sealife environment? Although I love crabs, first time ever today to go crabbing today. Search for crabbing tips and found this one. In Canada though, raking or using any sharp object not allowed. $150 fine.
Razor Clam hole maybe ?? pour little table salt on the hole & wait a little while 30sec. salt make them come back up to surface, & they squirt water up as they dig deeper down... that is a guess cant see hole very well, but to me looks like razor clam hole.. /ps: -just informed maybe illegal to use salt on clams in your country.. dont do it :) please follow your country & local fishing laws :D
I just found your videos, I used to crab every year as a teen ager. I have never crabbed as an adult and I like this way very much. I wonder what you think about doing this in a drysuit and snorkel set up?
BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS!!! A couple people have died from steeping into a hole, and having their waders fill with water. I NEVER go into water deeper than 2 feet.
I really enjoy how you show all kinds of different ways to do things that actually work.
I will be trying this much thanks from Seaside Oregon---Love your chanel.

probably the best video i've ever seen of a dude chasing a scared female around a beach!
That's the kind of raking I could get behind! Now if I could only figure out how to rake in the dough...
Awesome! My son captians a oyster barge in North Bend and sees the Dungies all the time.

Never thought of doing this! I sure will give it a try😍🦀😍 Thanks PK
Tight Lines
Low tides in the evening 5-9pm is way better in much shallower water of 1-2 feet, just a small minow net cuz rake is too heavy.
Wow, nice catch brother, I want take my vacation go to see you and tour me to catch crabs
Very cool. We have come across a lot of crab while clamming in eel grass. Never gone out and targeted them that way though.
Never seen this technique looks fun!👍😄🦀

Good stuff PK! I'm in Gold Beach... hoping to try this raking beachside!
Do they bury under the sand?
Yes. Especially during really rough storms
Crab feeding on those anchovies?

Is this along the Siuslaw tidal flats?
Cool vid Pk! Glad to see the clam-cam come out...I'm gona have to try this method next year. Tight lines 😎
Sorry if I missed the info but what brand is that light mounted on the rake? Thx
Man they were some nice crabs 🦀
Hey PK thank you for all the great videos.. where is a good place to crab with this method.

@@ongta1265 thank you so much for this message. I will check out Netarts bay. I did it at Siletz bay on low tiday at night n caught 10.
@@ongta1265I heard it’s best to go 2 hrs before low tide
Fantastic way to catch crab! Were those fish Sand Lance?
Always love your videos. Where were you
What months r crab season over there? And what’s the limit per person?
PK, I am going to be on the OR coast for the entire month of March. Is this a good time to rake for clams and crab?
Clams yes. But I would look for minus tides for that. Lower is better. Crabbing is slow now, this is the slower part of the season (best times are in the fall). But who knows.

Canada does not allow crab snares as well
Love it❣️❣️
where is this please?
Netarts bay
We’re is this at?
which tidal flat is this? that';s wonderful
Looks like Alsea Bay, but not 100% sure
@@nwnative4139 Once I saw the bridge in the video, I am close to 100% sure it is Alsea.
Don't expect these youtuber dudes to answer, but they expect a like and subscribe, lol. Looks like Alsea Bay!
Shawn Jackson-Cook look at the 24:02 mark, but I don’t see the Alsea Sea Wall. Could be Alsea but also maybe not.

Its illegal to use salt for clamming on the West Coast. Also razor clam will not be in a bay, they are on the beach.
@@jawsua32 sorry had no idea i live in Australia buddy 'XD don't have clue about the laws over there
@Rexism7 its also illegal to have sex with our own grandmothers and children or with cat and chickens... but perfectly fine to vote for trump.

Yes, that will work really well. You'd limit out really fast because you can reach places where waders can't go.
where is the tidal flats?
Wow, better than raking leaves..
BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS!!! A couple people have died from steeping into a hole, and having their waders fill with water. I NEVER go into water deeper than 2 feet.
I have heard of people doing this on the beach as well. The rake in the troughs between the sandbars.
Wow!! That's all I got is wow lol
I found that the best time is as the tide is starting to come in.
great job!!!
Sure those are anchovies and not grunion?
Awesome!
Do you have an Instagram? I’d be stoked to follow there also.
Use plastic rakes so avoid puncturing and injuring the crab! Please and thanks
2 words PK……HAIR CUT. LOL
That's how I crab... TIGHT LINES!
Where are u
How is this by hand when you are using that rake lol
Those holes r warms
That is a whole lot of work to catch crabs
Marine sandworms i think
Let go of the rake and I will help you enter my pot full of boiling water.
Also throw soft shell back
Too much talk about a hard rake, its a video, show don't talk.
