Its a lot easier using 3 spoons I know people say you only need 2 but it's a heck of alot quicker to use 3! If you have the rim supported so the tire is not touching the ground I use a old 30 gallon oil drum made of plastic it works perfect and doesnt scratch the wheel.
Yes you can but I wouldn't use that because of the mess to clean up and it will get your tire out of balance, better to bring a plug kit and a small compressor like the mini jump start ones.

I was looking at the m/c tire changers at Harbor the day after when I bought the mini and the car tire changers. 'Haven't decided on that yet.
