Sorry, but you can't expect Wemby to make an immediate impact like Duncan and Robinson did when they first entered the league. They were both older and had more established teams. Even with Wemby, the Spurs are still going to use this year for development and grow the organization organically. Spurs don't need to make the same mistake the Suns did with Ayton trying to rush to contention. This year needs to be about developing the games of Wembanyama, Sochan, and Vassell and then re-evaluate again in the summer. If it doesn’t end up being too expensive, which let’s face it, it might have to be since Lakers can match any offer, but if it didn’t end up costing too much, maybe $20mil a year max, I think Austin Reaves would be a fantastic youngish addition to their team.
Bring in Dante and Brook Lopez. Dante has the shot and the defense, Lopez also has range and can play center. Nobody needs to play pick and role with Wemby, he is always open due to his size, long arms, and mobility. Getting more outside shooting means teams cannot pack the paint on Wemby, not that packing the paint would really work...but then you want to have a really stout defense since you have Wemby and can destroy teams on defense. Reaves is never going to be a great on ball defender with high steal numbers.
I‘d love to see a match between Lofton Jr and Wemby again. That guy posted and imposed his will like Wemby is a tiny matchstick. Wemby was so helpless guarding him.
Brown seems like the better choice over Reeves. He probably will be a cheaper get without the restricted FA status risk. He can run an offense handle and shoot, but is better defensively than Reeves. He also seems like a better fit with the Spurs' culture. The Spurs need a point guard, and even though neither Reeves nor Brown are pure point guards, they're the best fit options available. They're guys who will still fit in, should the Spurs acquire a more traditional point guard at some future point, since both can play the 1, 2, or 3 at a high level.
Overpaying for Reaves won't happen. That is not the Spurs way. They have combo guards who they will develop. Wesley was injured last year and was not able to fully show his true potential. In games he was healthy, he was balling. Same with Malaki. Sochan handles the point too from time to time. They will do it by committee. And will be waiting for the right player to come. They will not hurry Wemby. They will let the pieces fall where they are and make a move once things are clear and when Wemby is ready to go to the next level.
For the Spurs, If it’s Anyone To Drop A Bag On PLEASE GET AR15. Yes OverPay Df out of him he can become a definite starting PG on this Team. (PS: I’ve never been a diehard Spurs fan but what I can say is I’ve respected this organization for years especially Pop and now that they got Wemby, oh I’m for sure watching ) With that Being Said IDEALLY I will become a Spurs fan if they get these pieces (crazy because a lot of these people in the video I’ve been saying fits perfectly around Wemby) 1. Austin Reaves 2.Bruce Brown ( Effective offensively and could hurt his matchup on defense, a bonafide stud) 3. Donte Divencenzo (This man can fit on ANY NBA team and be impactful IMMEDIATELY reminds me alot of Lonzo and Caruso) 4.This is a Dark Horse but Kyle Kuzma ( Yeah he’s a hit or miss but I think if he gets with pop, he’ll become more consistent and disciplined) * WILL THIS TEAM WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP, First year together probably not. BUT let them develop and they can become the new dynasty the worlds talking about. I’m actual feeling kinda anxious because I just know the success this team could have with those additions. But idk I guess we’ll see during free agency.
Kuz is a knucklehead and shouldnt be on any serious team. Donte shouldnt be a starter, same with BB, as much as I love BB, his role in Denver isnt one other teams are going to give him. My guess he stays put.
I am French ...don t expect wemby to be a top player the first or two years he will be good but not dominant then when he will have 20 pound more and have played against all players many times he will be the guy expected to be
Tim Duncan is the 2nd greatest player to me behind Lebron. Duncan is just a real 1 of 1 individual in my opinion loved his game from Wake to the end of his career in the NBA
Ngl ar and wemby could be scary. Im not too into the whole salary and money side of the leauge but i was thinking abt poole maybe going there and having a breakout season with wemby. And i feel like that could happen with someone like reaves who grew alot as a player as we saw last year
Pool is a toxic personality, he got punched in the face at practice and none of his teammates defended him, which says a lot. His game doesn't really translate to wins partially due to his lack of iq, and he has not shown to be very coach able. I really don't think he is a good fit for the spurs (especially the culture they want to have), the Houston rockets would suit him much better imo. Pool already has a ring, it's highly likely he will be more focused on securing the biggest bag possible than prioritizing going to a competitive team. But the spurs want long-lasting success. And the spurs already have one of the best blueprints on how to sustain that level of winning as a orginization, and that's by developing their players and maintaining a culture thats serious about doing what it takes to win. With all that being said Austin Reaves >> Jordan Pool 😂
Spurs won't fly into chip contention just yet, they have emphasized time and time again that they're going long term, and it's strategic - they somehow managed to tank whilst developing their current roster, Wemby is the center piece of their new project and it's not often an organization gets a #1 draft whilst carrying other bright prospects to build around, they have $43 million in cap space and this allows them to build a solid squad that amalgamates youth and experience, it's really a matter of patience but hats off to their management for how they're moving about - they didn't go for the ''win now or fuck it'' move like the Nets did (twice might I add)
Tim Duncan David Robinson make any coach look like a genius. Pop pretty average post all-stars. What he does deserve credit for is being amongst the first to draft foreign players. That advantage disappeared ages ago.
Why trade for them if you can develop those picks? Signing those guys limits the growth and potential of our own picks. Look what happened in signing LA and Demar
I think the spurs will add faster than most think, the French guy, if he lives up to some expectations, will be too tempting to do anything else. He looks frail, but so did Kareem, so who knows. Good luck down there.
Yeah i dont thinknit will be immediate. It would be so cool to get dame lillard. Being from and living in san antonio it would be so sick to go see Dame live and see what he can teach to the yound bloods.
Spurs GM Brian Wright stressed being patient and deliberate in moving forward with Wembanyama, pointing out that it's hard to fix mistakes from moving too fast. From that, I think it's unlikely for the Spurs to overpay for someone like Reaves. They'd rather basically run it back and see how last season's core of young players play with Victor
San Antonio would be BALLIN' quickly with any combination of these players. If Lakers let Austin Reaves go, they might as well send AD and Lebron packing too.
I wouldnt say no one. Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell are progressing every year. It rlly will on take one more step for both of them to be considered all star caliber players.
Leave wemby alone, let him work and lower your expectations. He's a rookie. Don't expect him to make immediate impact like Duncan and Robinson. But I wouldn't be surprised if he had an amazing rookie season, being guided by one of the best coaches in the league and being mentored by hof's like Duncan, Robinson, Manu, and Parker.
If the spurs were smart, which they probably will be, the tank shouldn’t be over yet. They’re still not good enough to win now, and another lottery pick to pair with wemby is how you really complete the rebuild.
Luka Doncic is the greatest Draft Prospect ever, but he got overlooked. He walked so Victor could run. If the Suns didn't mess up, they would probably already have 2 Rings instead of a series of embarrassing exits.
Well Reeves is off the table........ re-signed would the Lakers for 4 years 56 million Rumor has it though the Spurs were the other option and were close on their offer but Lakers were ready to go near 100 million but sees like bidding didn't force that
Shifting focus towards Wemby from day 1 seems like a terrible idea. In fact, I don't expect anything from him other than staying healthy. I want him with strength trainers and shooting coaches and kinesiologists and everyone who can help him stay healthy. He also has to learn the NBA game. Moving too quick will only hinder his growth.
I totally disagree. Wembenyama is not strong enough. SAS need 2-3 years at the bottom, to acquire more top10 young talents. Slowly develope individuals and build chemistry.
If it’s not a superstar, I want us to save our money. I want us to develop Wesley and Sidy. I also like the idea of Vanvleet but I don’t like that comment he made a couple years back.
In reality, the Spurs are largely going to tank again next season. The goal will be to evaluate the talent on their roster and see which of their many projects is worth investing in going forward. They'll hope to land another good lottery pick and then use some of their stockpiled draft picks and young players to acquire some running mates for Wemby. Expect them to still be poor in 2023. Much improved in 2024. And making some serious noise by 2025.

Sochan could improve a ton in a couple of years, hope he does
What a privilege it has been to grow up a Spurs fan. I love this organization
Not falling for the hype is the thing that separates good franchises from the bad ones. No to Reaves in Spurs uniform.
never thought that the current spura line up were youngsters. lookibg forward for a great rebuild result
Sochan is clearly there to be the blue collar defensive worker to protect Wemby from nasty match ups.
Reeves is a "Yes". Reminds me of a "Stockton to Malone" partnership. But, they will need a significant small forward and a big enough sub for Wemby.
They didnt bring Pop in to be HC. Pop was the GM and he fired Bob Hill who was very popular with the players and fans.
The spurs have stated they arent going to rush things and see how the team is before they make big moves
A player like Jeff Green or Aaron Gordon at the PF spot will be a good addition for the Spurs.
Jeremy Sochan seems like that guy. But really I expect wemby to play the 4, not the 5.
Great Content
Overpaying for Reaves won't happen. That is not the Spurs way. They have combo guards who they will develop. Wesley was injured last year and was not able to fully show his true potential. In games he was healthy, he was balling. Same with Malaki. Sochan handles the point too from time to time. They will do it by committee. And will be waiting for the right player to come. They will not hurry Wemby. They will let the pieces fall where they are and make a move once things are clear and when Wemby is ready to go to the next level.
Common Spurs W
We back baby! Go spurs go.🎉
YESSIR
For the Spurs, If it’s Anyone To Drop A Bag On PLEASE GET AR15. Yes OverPay Df out of him he can become a definite starting PG on this Team.
(PS: I’ve never been a diehard Spurs fan but what I can say is I’ve respected this organization for years especially Pop and now that they got Wemby, oh I’m for sure watching )
With that Being Said
IDEALLY I will become a Spurs fan if they get these pieces (crazy because a lot of these people in the video I’ve been saying fits perfectly around Wemby)
1. Austin Reaves
2.Bruce Brown ( Effective offensively and could hurt his matchup on defense, a bonafide stud)
3. Donte Divencenzo (This man can fit on ANY NBA team and be impactful IMMEDIATELY reminds me alot of Lonzo and Caruso)
4.This is a Dark Horse but Kyle Kuzma ( Yeah he’s a hit or miss but I think if he gets with pop, he’ll become more consistent and disciplined)
* WILL THIS TEAM WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP, First year together probably not.
New CBA rules would make keeping the core much harder. I like the idea of Reeves in the spurs
They are gonna need an experienced veteran floor general for a couple of years.
Stay off the weed 😂 MJ is the goat
Duncan was great player but in my opinion i think it was the way that spurs play that fit him
dawg
jordan at 3 is crazy
I agree Tim’s my no. 2 but behind Jordan
That's an evil laugh 😂
Ngl ar and wemby could be scary. Im not too into the whole salary and money side of the leauge but i was thinking abt poole maybe going there and having a breakout season with wemby. And i feel like that could happen with someone like reaves who grew alot as a player as we saw last year
Poole is a bum, he’s got a horrible attitude.
I’d keep him far away from Wemby even though I think the kids very mature for his age.
With all that being said Austin Reaves >> Jordan Pool 😂
go spurs go baby! Love spurs content
Spurs will be champions within the next 5 years as long as Wembanyama doesn’t get hurt
Boi boi and wiembi would be crazy
PG: Tre Jones
SG: Vassell
SF: Keldon
PF: Sochan
C: Wemby
Wemby shouldnt be the 5, and If i know Pop, he wont be, he will be the 4, and sochan will be a 3 or sixth man.
Spurs will be in the top 5 defense this year and probably top 10 in offensive
Why trade for them if you can develop those picks? Signing those guys limits the growth and potential of our own picks. Look what happened in signing LA and Demar
My thoughts exactly. When we lose our way, we always pay.
Kerr won 2* championships with us 😊
99 and 03
I think the spurs will add faster than most think, the French guy, if he lives up to some expectations, will be too tempting to do anything else. He looks frail, but so did Kareem, so who knows. Good luck down there.
GOOOO SPURSSS GOOOO WELL BE BACK ON TOP BABYYYY
Yeah i dont thinknit will be immediate. It would be so cool to get dame lillard. Being from and living in san antonio it would be so sick to go see Dame live and see what he can teach to the yound bloods.
Spurs GM Brian Wright stressed being patient and deliberate in moving forward with Wembanyama, pointing out that it's hard to fix mistakes from moving too fast. From that, I think it's unlikely for the Spurs to overpay for someone like Reaves. They'd rather basically run it back and see how last season's core of young players play with Victor
Hornet got squash twice, A.Davis and now Victor
Got Kerr looking like you still play in the thumbnail 😭😭
San Antonio would be BALLIN' quickly with any combination of these players. If Lakers let Austin Reaves go, they might as well send AD and Lebron packing too.
Wemby got no one to help right now. They need another year, or two, to build a championship team around him.
Spurs didn’t “bring Pop in to be the Head Coach”. He was the GM and fired Bob Hill and named himself the Head Coach. Worked out alright
Jaylen Brown your next video JimmerRange 🙏🙏🙏
If the spurs were smart, which they probably will be, the tank shouldn’t be over yet. They’re still not good enough to win now, and another lottery pick to pair with wemby is how you really complete the rebuild.
David Robinson DID NOT win the ‘96 MVP, Jordan did. Robinson only had one MVP from ‘95.
Luka Doncic is the greatest Draft Prospect ever, but he got overlooked.
He walked so Victor could run.
If the Suns didn't mess up, they would probably already have 2 Rings instead of a series of embarrassing exits.
The first time Wemby sends Kawhi’s shot into the seats, will be a sweet day.
Sochan is a good pair with Wemby
Damian Lillard & Victor Wenbenyama 🤔🤔🤔
"Now why is he screaming like a little girl?" LMAO
now my warriors are screwed
Well Reeves is off the table........ re-signed would the Lakers for 4 years 56 million
Rumor has it though the Spurs were the other option and were close on their offer but Lakers were ready to go near 100 million but sees like bidding didn't force that
Wolves got 3 1st picks ;_; . KAT, wiggins, & Edwards. I'm praying Ant's finally the one!
The next Darko Milicic…calling it here first 😂
Shifting focus towards Wemby from day 1 seems like a terrible idea. In fact, I don't expect anything from him other than staying healthy. I want him with strength trainers and shooting coaches and kinesiologists and everyone who can help him stay healthy. He also has to learn the NBA game. Moving too quick will only hinder his growth.
THEY SHOULDA DRAFTED BJ YOUNG IN 2013 - ❤
Greatest mistake we ever made.
I totally disagree. Wembenyama is not strong enough. SAS need 2-3 years at the bottom, to acquire more top10 young talents. Slowly develope individuals and build chemistry.
Austin Reeves makes sense.
Video didn't even mention the magnificence of flipping Dejounte. 🤣 Hyping him up for Atlanta. Haha
fire video
If it’s not a superstar, I want us to save our money. I want us to develop Wesley and Sidy. I also like the idea of Vanvleet but I don’t like that comment he made a couple years back.
That Fuck Pop comment will be remembered by true Spurs fans. Easy pass.
The lakers have already put the word out that they will match ANY offer for Austin reaves
San Antonio is the seventh largest city in the nation so it’s not really a small market.
Kawhi laugh😂😂
As a laker fan, respectfully hell no
Uh, Mamu got minutes on the Bucks, he was always going to feature on Spurs.
Malaki like that
10:53 Woow!
