@@tyler_bt3326 I think because it's a narrow track. Imaginr going 100 km/h through a town. Looks faster than doing it on a highway. And ofcourse the banking is great. Taking more speed into a corner and get a slingshot out of it
They're still so fast in the corners, even though the cars have simplified front and rear wings (2019) and simplified floor (2021)... the floor regulations alone cost them ~10% of downforce... imagine what they could do with 2018 regulations but 2021 development

Honestly I don't think Tsunoda would be dumped away immediately, but Italian Jesus can do miracles with an Alpha Tauri imo. Or Alpine as well, but I don't think they would drop neither Ocon or Alonso...which I am afraid Gio will have his career killed by Sauber.

@Sabiq Let's be fair, in normal conditions none of those cars are able to get points. The Williams is now the better car but it still is very difficult for them to get into the points. They just were incredibly lucky with half the grid going out at Hungary and the whole Spa weekend, since they geared the car heavily for quali, Russel pulled a miracle and the race never came, or they would have dropped down the grid like a bag of stones. Alfa on the other hand could have much more points but because of all those strategy and pit errors they keep ruining their drivers' races. In Hungary Giovinazzi could have won but he was pitted 3 times for no reason. Giovinazzi is on the same level with Russel in my opinion, he just couldn't prove it. There is a reason if Toto Wolff wanted him as his 3rd driver before Giovinazzi went to Ferrari and picked Russell

Zandvoort hosted it's first F1 race back in 1952, meaning it's about just as old as the other ones. It is basically already a classic.

looks like a lot of fun to drive too. It seems though if the aero grip doesn't nicely transfer through every change of direction in the banked corners, you lose your grip and are quickly thrown off.

I just want to say, i love this nasty, high speed, zero tolerance, technical track, it takes all drivers to a next level of experience, i enjoy today.
Just means the race is going to have zero overtakes and constant red flags, awesome track just not for F1

@@Ze-Germanzuk this track is new for all drivers, but when they will have more experience on this track, there will be less red lights, and more trying to take over, there was not much time for them to learn the track well, but all drivers were excited about the track, and for them it is also excitend that there is zero tolerance on this track, i trust the futher when they learn how to act this track.
I love the track too. Just wished that they made the main straight a little bit longer so that more DRS overtakes would be possible. But lets wait and see how the race turns out tomorrow

This track does look awesome, it makes the cars look like jet fighters driving off some corners. The downside is that there are virtually no runoff areas, which means a lot of red flags.
Fun fact: Max Verstappen is the only driver of the 2021 grid who has a 100% pole position rate

I love how it's normal for Gasly to be getting into the top 5 every race now, it's like the AT car is built around him like the RB car is around Max.

It maybe looks like that but that is ofcourse not the case. The teams just try to make the car as fast as possible. If they would build it so a driver is comfortable, they'd be slow.
And that is why Gasly should stay they at AT and not beside Max
I believe that's kinda the plan... They want Max to lead RBR and Pierre to lead SAT. And make the two teams championship contenders.

@@NonstopDriving it was a failure of his drs which cost him about 1 tenth and at the exit of T3, he upshifted from 4th to 6th gear losing 5th gear which also coated him 1 and half tenth, so it's not so close as it looked

Classic tracks are just great. Designed into the flow of the landscape, instead of just being designed.
F1 cars are an exemption, but Zandvoort allows for really close racing with multiple lines to choose from.

Love that this track is back! Nice long straight, different types of corners and most of all it’s nice and wide. Track designers take note.
The visuals of this circuit wow! Now it looks like F1 driving around! And the roar of the crowd ouff chills.
This is a championship battle that will be remembered for a long time. The two greatest drivers of their generations are going head-to-head and doing things so absurd that it beggars belief. This is Formula 1 at its absolute peak.

@@reinholdbeck7097 come on, russel so far has only proven really exceptional on saturdays. Way too early to call him the best driver on the grid yet, for that we would have to see him perform in a top team in high pressure situations with a competitive teammate consistently.

@BigRonnie Yes he is. Verstappen clearly has the best car this season and Lewis missed virtually all of FP2 which was massive considering this is a new track. It shows how great Lewis is, that he was only 0.038 behind Verstappen.

He is a great driver yes and I like him, but clearly has the best car this season. Lewis has won multiple races this season in a slower car and is winning the championship as we speak. Right now, at least yesterday, Max was better than Lewis because of the only reason that ultimately matters: he had the fastest lap. Whoever wins today, be it Lewis or Max or Nikita or anyone else, they will be the best driver today whether you like it or not.

I'm now new to this been watching F1 for over 30 years it's quite clear u are new to this and have no clue. Ferrari had the fastest car I 2018 and 2019, especially 2019, and Lewis won.
