I have this model. It's suspension is far better than the Japanese luxury model . Very versatile. Handles quick and sharp turns. The large wheel base makes a big difference on roads and handles potholes, and floods water as well as rough terrain. I have driven this baby at 55 mph on i95 from Nyc to Boston in the middle of terranhchal rain. It handled very well

Equinox goes fully electric in 2024. This is just a half hearted ICE update on a minimum budget. Perfect for fleet buyers

Chevy dealerships historically had big discounts on these things. The pandemic changed things. But I’m seeing big discounts on these again. $3,500 or higher discounts are now common.
That is the advantage of the Equinox. It has a lot of features and you can get it in the low to mid $20’s.

      @@mikereynoldsvlog That’s nuts.
Here in Southern California, an LS is low 20’s, and an LT is mid 20’s. A fully decked out LT with several option packages is $28.5K (before taxes, fees, etc.), and they’re the ones calling me after I test drove it a couple of months ago.

Perfect suv if it had the beefy 2.0 with premiere package ! Otherwise wait for 24. I love my ‘18 with the 2.0. Either engine aside it’s a great vehicle to drive on a long trip. Pretty comfy .

You got some facts wrong. All the 22 equinox cars get led headlights standard. When the wheels slip it does activate the AWD. The button turns it off so that it won’t kick on even if the wheels slip.

You can't even get the 2.0 turbo with 9 speed anymore, that's sad because it was fantastic. I have one in my 2019 and love it, really inspires confidence. The smaller engine is just not enough even with "one" person and no cargo in the car.

  • @cody6009

Lol turbo 4 making 250 hp meanwhile the 2015 awd 2lt equinox I currently own has 300hp and plenty enough tq, I have no issues getting going when I need some pick me up, sometimes while the cars look and feel nicer as the years go on I just can't help but think somethings are regressive. The 3.6L v6 sounds great and has all the power I could ever need with a 6 speed, and awd you can't beat that imo. Also who the hell wants a quiet engine ? Half the fun of owning a chevy with some power is how raw and gritty they feel when u put the pedal down, I love the sound out of the v6 I have , plus enough tq to put u back in your seat when u push it. Also my 2015 has a sport mod with + and - buttons to shift, crazy how in 2015 it had it and now it doesn't strange.

I don’t know what people are smoking. While not a powerhouse it has more than enough. Interstate speeds are no problem at all no problems passing etc! The guy acts like it can’t get out of its own way.

The only issue I can see is merging onto the highway. You might need a little extra horsepower to get in front of an oncoming commercial truck that shows no plans of slowing down.

Did Chevy ever fix the heater problem? I like my 2018 Equinox, I’ve put 80,000 on its still going strong. Depending on speed, I average 32 to 36 mpg. Still rides quiet, it’s still comfortable for long road trips, and I’ve never felt like I needed more power, it’s an SUV not a race car, but then I don’t drive all that aggressively I guess. My biggest complaint is the heater. In town driving, going around 30mph or slower or worse long idling in cold temperatures, when the outside temperature is something at or below zero the heater is weak. It blows plenty of air but it’s coolish lukewarm air and will leave you wishing it was hotter. Its cool enough you will feeling it in your knees hands and feet, it’s uncomfortably cold. It’s not a problem when you drive 40mph and faster. Then the heater is volcanic. The dealer and Chevy have no answers or fixes. That grill bra thing, “the fix” total waste of money and time, it does more to keep grim off grill but has very little if any fix for the poor heating at low temperatures. And I’m not the only, everyone I’ve talked with that has a the 1.5L eco boost engine has the same complaint. Otherwise it’s been a good SUV for me.

    4:22 170 hp? It’s not going to have a problem getting in front of a semi. 0 to 60 in 9 seconds is quicker than a 96 4x4 Tahoe with a 255 hp 5.7 v8.

    Dear
followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who
buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into
the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service,
the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf

This a rental or fleet car, that should only be bought used for cheap bc it's not a good product. Btw highway fuel economy at 70 mph is 25 mpg bc the engine labors to keep speed. Had as a rental not a good vehicle

Every car should have a clear, demonstrable reason to buy it. The Equinox doesn't. Nothing compelling in any area ... but it's not terrible in any dimension. It can be argued though the engine - as you pointed out - falls short. And the core (the heart) to any auto is the engine. It doesn't need to have 350 hp, but one should feel comfortable hitting the gas and passing on the highway. I WANT to like this SUV .. but it keeps coming up short. Nice review.
