Second-Gen Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-gauge Brad Nailer vs Original-HUGE Improvements!

  • The second-generation 18ga finish nailer from Milwaukee Tool makes HUGE improvements to the original M18 FUEL brad nailer. It improves both visibility and rate of fire. No small update, this tool truly feels and operates like a complete redesign. You basically get fast, accurate firing with zero ramp-up delay. The battery preps each shot before the tool fires, eliminating any lag. On top of that, we used the tool in bump-mode. The fast firing speed should keep up with just about anyone’s needs. Finally, the head removes the clutter, leaving a clear indicator that places your brad nails right where you want them.

I have the first gen 16 gauge, it failed after a little less than a year. I convinced my wife that I needed the new 18 gauge... now I’m selling my newly replaced 16 gauge nailer that Milwaukee sent me. This new one has been a real treat!

Hi, wondering what the respective model numbers are; I don’t want to buy the first generation accidentally. Cheers

I purchased the new milwaukee gen 2 18g brad nailer and it's better then the first model. Only cons there's a shadow at the tip from the LED light. Also If you lose the rubber tip you can't fire the gun.
My DeWalt 18g brad nailer is also good. If you lose the tip you can still fire the gun. Only cons, that rev up motor and it a little bulky. I hope dewalt can change that rev up motor on all their nailers. Hopefully that will make it less bulky.
Now, the DeWalt 15g & 16g finish nailer has a way better design then the milwaukee 15g & 16g nailer. I hope milwaukee will come out with a new version of the 15g & 16g

Model #'s would be much more useful than old new first gen second gen.

Seriously. Now viewers have to guess which is old, which is new model. And/or guessing which model(s) he is using. Frustrating

Correct and I believe the older is the 2740-20 and the newer is 2746-20.
