    QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are you ready to upgrade from an air nailer and switch to the Gen2 Milwaukee Brad Nailer? Did it pass the test for what you're looking for in a brad nailer? What length nails do you normally use?

    I've had mine for 2 years now, I truly belive you got a bad gun. Mine sinks 98% of them consistently, and with a nice clean hole. Sometimes when I switch materials I have to adjust , but once I adjust it stays consistent.

      @@MarkThomasBuilder I agree with Jonny, so far you are the only one who talked about the extra nose pads, I wish you can explain a little bit more on how to choose the right one and how to change them, great video Mark

    Doing Finish Carpentry for living , had the dewalt 18 ga for 2 years it started not sinking the nails , went with the Milwaukee and no issues so far and much quite than the dewalt the winding noice , overall happy with the nailer , hope it holds for 5 years

      @markthomasbuilder most of reviews are very good , using one in actual gives me a confidence that is a good tool , as long as the tube doesn't leak the gas , then it's useless, but warranty should cover it

    Great video Mark. I like Milwaukee tools and I will purchase this new Gen2 18 gauge brad Nailer. I like the features. and will use Hitachi Nails or Porter Cable Nails. Keep those videos coming there very helpful in purchasing tools.

      @@MarkThomasBuilder Thank you sir. Got my ass kicked yesterday trying hammer 2" galvanized finishing nail with 1/2 x1/2 plywood strips on to hard wood (so hard to aim), still got a few hundred feet to go. That's why I'm watching your video. Also have to replace few lap sidings with 2" siding nails. Hope this gun will also work for that too. Thanks. great video & response.

    500+ Nails and it only took 9 Watt Hours? (a 2.0 CP battery is 36 Watt Hours if I am correct) Is that thing running on the atmosphere?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure the watt hour rating on the CP2.0 battery. The Milwaukee website advertises that it has 2xs more runtime and 20% more power due to the superior pack construction and electronics.

      It's not like the DC motor is spinning constantly and flat out in comparison to a drill or even more so a grinder...

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Colaaah It feels pretty close to a pneumatic air nailer, as far as performance. I have another battery powered framing nailer by Dewalt, which is not the case.

  • @evictioncarpentry2628
    @evictioncarpentry2628 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I tried mine with a 3 inch thick piece of Laminated Maple from a railing. Using 2 inch nails it will sink them about a 1/16 from flush.
    Pretty damn impressive considering an air nailer will barely do that.
    I'm waiting for the 3.5 framer to come out! It's taking forever.

    I love mine just have had a problem with 1 1/2” brad nails but I think it’s the dewalt nails I bought. One side of the heads are worn down. Has anyone had this problem? I have shot 1” , 1 1/4, 1 3/4, and 2 inch as well with zero issues

    • @Colaaah
      @Colaaah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like the Dewalt nails being defective like you mentioned, especially if you have had no problems with every other set of nails you used of all different sizes...
      You seem to of already done a good process of elimination, so definitely not the gun itself 👍

    • @josephhunt6278
      @josephhunt6278 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @josephhunt6278
      @josephhunt6278 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ROB FORCE yeah man I’m still going strong with the hitachi nails still haven’t had a jam since... I noticed that if the heads are overly flat on one side it will jam it at least for me anyways... but the nailer is awesome. I had the dewalt nailer which a great nailer but I just like my Milwaukee better

      Well, here in Australia they are 2yrs on the batteries and 5yrs on the tools. And I'm pretty sure Milwaukee doesn't favour one part of the globe over another... Can you put a link to show where you read 3yrs on the batteries?
