    I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

    I too have put it to heavy use approx 30,000 nails mostly 1 5/8 . I'm a trim carpenter. Not one issue with this gun. Love it worth every penny. I bought mine on free battery week and scored a 5.0 for zip. Everyone on our crew wants one. Highly recommended. Throw away your gen 1. Milwaukee hit it out of the park with gen 2.

      Scott Moore, if someone has a Gen 1 nail gun they don’t have to throw it away... Ghat would be rather stupid, considering Milwaukee’s awesome 5 year warranty. They simply need to call 1-800-SAW-DUST, tell the rep how disgusted they are with their Gen 1 nail gun, as they fully expect it to operate as beautifully as the Gen 2. There’s no way to repair it, so after receiving the Gen 1 gun back they’ll ship back out a Gen 2 to replace it!

      Wait till you drive 2” brads into solid mdf casings and liners. There is no better nailer on the market then the Ridgid pneumatic. I used Omer, Max, Porter Cable. They are all trash in comparison. Omers are almost 200 $ more. Life time warranty on the ridgid. Best nailer I used 10 years in business! Painters love it!

    • @vickijohnson9425
      @vickijohnson9425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had no luck with cordless nailers. I currently own the Milwaukee gen 2. It his a great gun for looks, technology, and power is incredible. Sinks nails deep. Hole size is ok too. It’s the double nail BS I hate. Perhaps I got a lemon. May change it up with a new one see if it’s a factory issues. Noticed the top bar that holds firing pin down has no real torque like the Ridgid. It seems much looser. This could be how 2 nails sneak out?

  • @DestinyA83

    Out of all of my tools, this is by far my favorite one!
    When I built my tiny home, the nailer I was using was always getting caught up on something and it jammed and I had to constantly move the air compressor and cords. Huge irritation and after getting this for the bargain price of $178 I threw the other one away lol.

    I love this gun, I’ve had mine for a year and my only issue with it is it would be nice to have a smart point tip like the Bostitch gun, and the on off switch needs to be where the drills forward reverse switch is so you can do it with one hand.

  • @bobpoor6348
    @bobpoor6348 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The only problem I have had with mine was with my initial use as the tip would fall off if you inadvertently dragged the tool along to the next shot. I called Milwaukee support and the nice gent on the phone said he hadn't heard of that being a problem but sent me a new pack of tips which was nice. I have learned to not drag it and also CA-d it and haven't had a problem since. Great tool and impresses all who I have let use it.

      Daniel, yes. Call 1-800-sawdust on Monday. I don’t think they’re open on Sundays.
      Tell the Milwaukee rep that you’re very dissatisfied with your Gen 1 nail gun, that you fully expected it to function like the Gen 2 does. There’s nothing they can do to fix it, so they’ll replace it for you. Tell them what an awesome job they did with the Gen 2 nail gun and how great it would be to have a tool that functioned as it does vs what you’ve been having to deal with.
      I think situations like this are less expensive for a manufacturer to replace on a case by case basis vs issuing a recall.

  • @martylucas8557
    @martylucas8557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don’t understand why you were having an issue with sequential firing of the nailer. The Milwaukee has two modes, one where you have to lift the tool in order for it to reset prior to shooting the next nail and a sequential mode that allows rapid firing by moving the nailer along the surface you’re nailing, without having to lift the nail gun.

  • @marcuskolloen9214
    @marcuskolloen9214 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If you put the tool in Sequential mode you can drag it a cross and fire without lifting the tool.

    Ok, I just picked up gen2 cordless Milwaukee brad. I work with mdf daily. I see the ridged pneumatic nailer. That is by far the best on this video. As for the cordless, it is at best hit and miss. It’s 1 week old. First day I had 3-4 miss fires. Shooting Two brads at one time leaving them up 11/4” above the product.
    I was doing window liners. And 1” nominal casings. The gun has no issue with power or sinking one nail. Yet it will occasionally try to sink two when burring it into 2” of solid MDF. Finger joint pine and profiled casings would be a breeze with this gun, or even the far cheaper Ryobie Airstrike. I bought that one first. I would still own it except I maxed out pressure and it would miss fire and fail to recoil on 2” mdf.

    Mine was amazing for a year, but then it started killing my batteries, and now I had to send it back for service because it was not turning on after being turned off, and it was also having trouble shooting nails consistently. I have had this for just over a year and I love the gun but it's just mysteriously stopped working. I contacted Milwaukee and at first they were not going to honour their guarantee because it was just outside the year. They said it was because I had not filled in the form for the extended warranty which I contested because I could prove my purchase to them. After a bit of fighting my corner the guy told me to send proof of purchase and he would look into getting it fixed under warranty for me. I am somewhat disappointed in Milwaukee because this is the 2nd tool thats broke down on me. I have reliability concerns! I still think their finishing nailer is the best one out there but I have lost confidence in the tools reliability and the company imo are not showing good after sales support by trying to deny me help under warranty. The tool was bought on 5/5/2021 so it's only a few weeks over the year and it is not firing! What should I take from this in terms of the brands reliability? Great gun when it works but it's not so great when you are on a job and it lets you down! The gun has only seen fairly light usage over the year too. Not good Milwaukee! At least honour your guarantee when customers have proof of purchase. Do better Milwaukee!!

    Was forced to buy this because the pneumatic nailer I had took a dump on me. Plus the pancake compressor I had on hand was really loud. I’m working on a condo unit so the super loud noise was embarrassing to say the least.
    I’m installing 3/4” thick, 5 1/2” wide baseboard on a 3 floor building. Around 1,200 feet once all said and done. I used Dewalt nails exclusively because the Home Depot only had that on hand at the time. After getting used to the initial learning curve mentioned at the beginning, I didn’t have a single issue with the gun. No jams or other issues to speak of. I used a 3.0 battery on an 8 hour day. I have to say, I was extremely satisfied with the performance of this gun. It was a huge help. I didn’t have to worry about compressors or plug in outlets, hoses or otherwise. For me it was a worth while investment that paid itself on the first day. I used it on another worksite a few days after for some small baseboard, no issues. Didn’t even have to adjust the gun for depth.

One huge issue that doesn't have anything to do with the nails is that it doesn't like to fire all the time. I'll get a click and no shot, then wait 2 seconds to try again. This is my 3rd gun and I'm hoping this one is better.

      Are
      You sure you don’t have the M18 Fuel Gen 1 gun? I use mine everyday, firing from 10-15 + racks of 2” nails per day, 5-7 days a week. I use exclusively Senco nails. I have never ever had a jam or a malfunction to speak of. I’ve also knocked my nail gun over at least half a dozen times, where it’s fallen from 2-3 feet.
      I do however take extremely good care of it, always cleaning it off, then replacing it in the large Milwaukee bag.

I know i can still send my unit back and get a new one but when i do.. i dont want to be using the wrong kind of nails for it.

    How’s recoil vs your ridgid pneumatic? Reason I’m asking is. I’ve had the 1st get before. And it was junk, it was worse then their 15Ga recoil. Hence I’ve bin using my bostitch, and ridgid pneumatic. I also have bostitch (dewalt coppy) cordless, it’s flywheel design with slight ramp up, but much softer on rebound.

    THANK YOU! I LITERALLY JUST GOT MINE TO THE JOB SITE 10 MINUTES AGO AND IT WAS ACTING LIKE SUCH A JAM HAPPY PIECE OF CRAP THAT I STARTED GOOGLING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I COULD BE DOING WRONG. I WAS USING DEWALT NAILS BECAUSE THEY SAY ON THE BOX THEY SHOULD WORK IN MOST BRAD NAILERS. I'M SO HAPPY YOU SAID THAT. I LITERALLY CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW FRUSTRATED I WAS AFTER HATING THIS BRAND NEW $400 NAILER. I'M GOING TO SWAP OUT THE NAILS WITH SOME OTHER BRAND AND GIVE IT A FRESH START IN THE MORNING. I REALLY REALLY HOPE THIS TAKES CARE OF IT. BY THE WAY, IF ANYONE WITH A MICROMETER WANTS TO MEASURE, I THINK THE DEWALT NAILS MIGHT BE A TINY TINY BIT THINNER AND THAT'S CAUSING THEM TO NOT NECESSARILY DOUBLE FEED BUT MORE LIKE 1.05 FEED. OTHER BRANDS MIGHT BE A TINY BIT THICKER NAILS OR JUST A TINY BIT MORE SPACED OUT AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT MICRONS HERE SO IT'S NOT SOMETHING I'D BE ABLE TO SEE WITH MY BARE EYE. ANYWAYS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TIP ABOUT DEWALT NAILS. I'M GOING TO HANG IT UP FOR THE NIGHT AND GIVE IT A TRY WITH SOME DIFFERENT NAILS IN THE MORNING.
