Very informative video format! You managed to display just about every new thing the update had to offer! If there is one suggestion I'd like to give, I think you should add those narrow white bars that go across the screen indicating how much time there is left before moving onto showcasing the next weapon. Y'know, like a lot of other Terraria content creators do when they showcase weapons. But yeah, other than that, cool stuff.
Though I would also like to ask something; about the new lore item text, is there a reason why there are some i's in place of t's?
Haha, I used a thing to transfer the text on the image (screenshot of the lore) to the editing program but thanks to the terraria font the "t's" and "l's" were confused as "i's"
I corrected some of the errors in the text, but yeah I didn't notice some of them because I was sleepy such as "Asiral" lol
I have already finished playing clasic calamity, now I am heading to catalyst with also infernum mode. This video explains a lot of me with mod, thank you.

YOOOOO omg I've been waiting for this for so long
I've tried the whips. Unfortunately they're horrible, early game ones lack proper bonuses to minions that vanilla whips give, calamity mod removes the ability to whip stack, and late game ones don't even have a summon tag. So catharsis, the post supreme calamitas whip, is worse than catalyst's scythe of the old god, a pre moonlord classless weapon.

@@profaneddonut5342 I'm pretty sure because they combined they just ported some of the whips over, seeing as every time I load the mod it says "We've combined with the Catalyst Mod!"
Not to mention in the recipe browser it shows I can turn some whips from the whip mod into new ones from Catalyst
God those new sfx are fuckin CRISP. Love it!
during the astrageldon fight when that adrenaline was filled up then lost it physically hurt me
the fact that on add on for calamity is higher quality than the actual calamity mod is incredible to me.
a lot of catalyst devs are also calamity devs so i hope we get this kinda stuff in the base mod too

Nope, Kuma says that the accessories and a lot of whips from UCW weren't interesting enough to be added

Yesss, the items and armor that Astrageldon gives are God Tier, if you are a summoner main you will have a lot of fun with those whips.

The best part of this update has to be the whips. Now you can actually play with the summoner. The new texture is a bit like the old one but still looks better.

The Catalyst whips are considered far worse than the vanilla whips. and devs constantly blame vanilla ones for boosting minion damage.

Nope, for now it's just focused on adding some content to calamity so u can combine Catalyst + Infernum perfectly.

How is this mod in a multiplayer scenario I tried playing infernum with 2 other people but it was to buggy has this been tested for multiplayer? if not is it going to have a multiplayer specific add on?
Question for anyone who knows the answer, can I add Catalyst onto an existing play through or will that break the game? I started a summoner play through with the extra whips mod because I didn’t know it was merged with Catalyst.
Afaik you won't have any problem if you add catalyst to a current playthrough
@@LeiLaiSaid I just joined the discord for the mod to check the notes and it seems like the only problem if I add it now is there might be less Metanova ore in the under ground astral biome but that could be fixed by making another world just to mine the ore anyways. Not everything, there is a lot of stuff that was removed because of balancing and not being that interesting, you can use the 2 mods anyways

Lots of the whips from UCW were either not that interesting, didn't fit well into progression, or they were just all around broken (Siren's Serenity).
If I remember correctly, we didn't add Sky Splitter specifically because of the tier shift for Prism Break, as well as a confliction with an aerialite whip going to be in Cal Main at some point. The accessories weren't interesting enough to warrant being added (and frankly summoner doesn't need more accessories), and the other whips just had equivalents on similar tiers that wouldn't let them see use or would make the tier awkward with options.
Wulfrum Chain would have to deal with Leather Whip, Wulfrum Armour, and Snapthorn.
Static Scourge would have to deal with Coral Crusher, and also was just a really weird weapon to balance (and so was Desert Scorcher to be honest).
Daedalus Whip would have to deal with Firecracker and Cool Whip (which is aesthetically similar anyway).
Prism Break was tier shifted because of the same two whips listed above.
Lash of Languish, Siren's Serenity and Stellar Wind (my beloved) were removed because of the plethora of post-Plantera whips already existing (Dark Harvest and Morning Star). Siren's Serenity was also a balancing nightmare in UCW.
Star Scrapper would have to compete with Kaleidoscope, which, no.
Righteous Dawn would have to deal with Blossom's Blessing.
Devourer's Maw, not sure. Likely just existing alongside Unrelenting Torment, which was balancing hell for both mods.
Proxima Centauri was a meme item.

I get that there were some whips that had to be removed, but still, for example, wulfrum chain was obtainable even on first day, giving summoners some whip much earlier than leather whip or snapthorn. I will also miss some of post ml whips and static scourge (though I get it was broken in pre-boc) and 'too much whips at one progression point' isn't a valid argument for me, because every class has multiple items at the same point of progression. So they absolutely could keep Stellar wind, Righteous dawn and Devourer's Maw (I will especially miss that one). But we'll see, maybe they'll add something in next updates
@@chadstreamsam69 Too many items was a big point because it's extremely rare the same subclass of weapon is on the same tier. Sure, you can be melee and have like 20,000 swords after X boss, but Summoner has nearly always been a quality over quantity class. We wanted the weapons to be more rewarding to obtain and to look forward to the next one, not to just grab it, it be cool, but then you have to replace it immediately with just a better one.
I do miss Stellar Wind though. Glad to see you miss Devourer's Maw too, since that was the weapon I made, but holy hell, is it janky and broken (makes summoner have more Defense than melee).

Aside from the fight being one of the most fun, the loot is super useful and can be used until Pre-DoG
