Oh my God.....literally, as in the boss's design is just absolutely riddled with so much religeous content, the wings of a Seraphim, the arms of Vishnu, the trees of Nervana, this is both so horrifying yet so awesome at the same time
Well that was perhaps the most bazonkers boss fight to happen since... What, Radiance EoL? Terraria modders pushing the funny 2d sandbox game to its absolute extremes yet again. Great job with the fight! :p
This fight does an EXCELLENT JOB at showing the player that you're fighting GOD. The way he looks, the fact that Xeroc's face is censored (in the bible it also pretty much says that nobody can look at the Most High's face directly) this is just pure cinema.
I think this was inspired by Undertale's omega Flowey due to the hectic sprites, background music, some of the sound effects and even just the attacks themselves which is really cool. Another reason I think this is because the boss kicks you out of your save just like Flowey did in Undertale.
I'm getting a more Madoka Magica's witches and Cassette Beasts's archangel vibe here, powerful beings that have a completely different art style from the world.
@@osseyocelot5431 in the case of the lore, you could not be more wrong, what your staring at is the god that consumed the soul of zeratos and single handedly became the most powerful being in creation. he was one of 2 things yharim failed at (noxus) the golden heretic actually tried to kill xeroc as one of his last gods, and xeroc showed him how "hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned" he was, it was hardly a battle, and yharim learned that day there was atleast 2 gods he could never hope to kill, and that the only reason hes alive even in the first place with years of training and killing countless gods is because a fly is nothing to the milky way. now dont get me wrong, I love yharim much more than the next guy and he is by far my fav tmodloader idea (and eventually boss) but he should be long dead (by your hand I might add) by the time you fight this one. cause at the end of the day yharim can absorb godly powers, split planets, cover himself in the strongest auric and exo plated armor known to man or devil, but hes not xeroc, hes not half of xeroc, hell hes not even one percent of xeroc. everything that happens in the terraria universe happens by xerocs will and forbearance, including you "beating him"
THE SPRITE IS PERFECT i geniuenly wouldve already been happy with the placeholder sprite as it reflects the cosmic theme of this boss so well, since xeroc is a god so powerfull he is barely comprehendable. but dude... all the religious imagery, symbolizing xerocs position as a literal god of light and time, quickly glitching in and out of reality makes it seem like our character is at the brink of understanding xeroc itself, but cant really completly comprehend him. this along with the theming of xeroc being more powerfull than the reality he is bounded too makes this such a thematically perfected encounter
One could argue that getfixedboi Nameless Deity is closer to what a "full powered" Xeroc would look like, but I'm sure even that is him holding back. Stellar boss
There would be no fight. Old lore Xerox (what this fight is based off of) can just... Delete anything he wants. Whenever he wants. He can literally just make you cease to exist from anywhere in the universe, any dimension, at any moment. Not even just delete you. Delete your literal history. Make it so that you never existed ever. No one remembers you, nothing you've done exists anymore, everything about you just gone in the blink of an eye.

As it is, xeroc would probably win but if the terrarian wins that'd be an insane feat, even compared to all of the other shit he can do
A few minor details: One of the bullet hell attacks actually makes the Star of David. The initial pre-fight part has that “tree” with apples. Once the fight starts, they fall to the ground. This could be a small nod to the “Apple of Sin” in Christian mythology. The likely censoring of his face is also a small nod that God in Christian mythology has no definite form.

Not even the highest and most sacred of Blasphemous' bosses felt so overwhelming and daunting! I loved the detail of their face being censored, like if our minds couldn't understand the "blessed eldritch horrors" behind.
This fight is so beautiful that I didn't notice I had tears streaming down my face. No exaggeration, this is pure art. Phase 3 transition gave me chills.

I try not to act that way, I mean I know there’s always going to be someone better than me like Cata. I’m also definitely aware that not everyone has the same skill sets. Sometimes tons of practice is what some players need!
I like how this is described not so much as a _fight_ as it is a _test._ This was but a figment of His power, to behold His true form would be physically impossible for any mere mortal, even one with as much power as yourself. To exert his true power would be to, in layman's terms, retrocasually erase your being from existence. You would cease to exist, or rather would have never existed at all. Entire galaxies could be snapped out of reality at His command. But He is merciful, and sees such barbarianism as below Himself, relegated only to the falsely divine, whom only steal and cheat their way to power. He seeks to care for His endless garden, and to those who seek it, He shall test their strength, to see if they are worthy of wielding even a shred of His essence. Sadly, with how cool the concept is, this depiction of Xeroc unfortunately doesn't reconcile well with the new lore, as I don't think even the Primordial Light would be capable of such feats like this. But the old version might be what this is aiming for though, with the whole "Xeroc is literally *the* Capital-G God of Terraria" schtick...

It's often been said that Calamity and accompanying mods feel like a different game from vanilla Terraria, but this thing is just about the only time that platitude is actually valid.
It took me a while to realized that someone gave the boss rush music actual lyrics and it's extremely in theme for being really chaotic like the battle.
Really love the ammount of "Flowey" Dominic put in here, the ammount of mismatched artwork, and addressed videogame mechanics, combined with the censored face really makes it the Final Boss of Weirdcore for me, really top notch stuff

It's not Xeroc. It's based on old lore Xeroc, with a lot of added stuff, and it's called the Nameless Diety specifically so people don't mistake it for the actual Xeroc.

I think. It's a bit blurry, and the distortion effects from the ongoing attack makes it difficult to read.
Lets be honest, This isnt xeroc. They just made a ‘generic god boss’ and slapped the name xeroc so its a calamity boss. That being said the boss is frenetic and well made, Ill probably never try it because ill get dizzy from it but its great nonetheless.
yeah, it looks amazing while watch but there's a reason that visuals like this are incredibly rare in games where you'll be expected to replay the fight a lot, it's just way too much for more than a few minutes or so

What I notice is that this background flash seems to be of code, and, from further inspection, it looks to be the actual source code for animating Xeroc's sprite during the teleport-and-slash attack... I think. It's a bit blurry, and the distortion effects from the ongoing attack makes it difficult to read.
Lets be honest, This isnt xeroc. They just made a ‘generic god boss’ and slapped the name xeroc so its a calamity boss.
That being said the boss is frenetic and well made, Ill probably never try it because ill get dizzy from it but its great nonetheless.
yeah, it looks amazing while watch but there's a reason that visuals like this are incredibly rare in games where you'll be expected to replay the fight a lot, it's just way too much for more than a few minutes or so

Xeroc is testing you not trying to kill you. So I assume he's intentionally doing less damage than he can just so you're actually able to survive.
