This is a very in depth recap, well done! It's incredible to see everyone so excited for future content and we're so excited to eventually share it all with you ♥ From a developer, here's a few minor inconsistencies or things people may be a little confused about (and possibly a couple more teasers): 3:25 - This will only be the first of many Calamity whips planned. Most will be centered around post-ML, as that is the stage of the game that needs whip support the most. Either way, whips are coming! 4:15 - The Murasama alts are no longer shimmer based, and will be instead selected from the same UI used to upgrade the weapon. 6:15 - This image is a little out of date, the core has been resprited again and will look much different. 6:24 - Ravager's retier will be absolutely massive in terms of content, and will feature a new arena to fight it in. Fun fact, many of the plans for the retier are actually scrapped plans from Catalyst that Calamity absorbed (This does not mean Catalyst or any of its content will be merged or official. Simply developers sharing ideas between each other). 8:00 - The Sea God will not be ingame at all, this is simply concept art. 8:40 - Statis and Braelor are what some historians might call, roommates 😉 9:35 - Endothermic Energy and Nightmare Fuel are being removed entirely and replaced with Distortion-themed materials. 9:55 - These Monolith sprites are all community made! Whenever a mod comes close to being a competitor to Calamity, the Calamity devs just fucking make it ten times better Edit: want my personal take? As someone who did full master mode playthroughs of Mod of Redemption and Stars above (plus calamity obviously), I can say that they are all very unique in their own ways and are all worth a try. Stars above just slaps different though. One more thing to note, I do believe that Calamity deserves its number one spot in terraria modding as a whole, but I do agree that too many Calamity fans only stay in the Calamity circle...
Bruh MoR is going to be 100 times better than Calamity , Calamity just adds a shit ton of content and thats it , theres 0 originality / innovation compared to it .
It's annoying for mod devs just how hyperfixated players are on Calamity. Every mod they play revolves around Calamity. Players don't bother experiencing mods by themselves.

Could calamity please add functionality for swapping ammo mid fight with use of a hotkey or something instead of having to open inventory for it? Would love to swap ammo in fights according to each situation and for applying debuffs and stuff. You could even have some ranger armour sets that use a random ammo type from your inventory each time you fire a bow/gun/launcher as a set bonus.
Ravager getting a rework is needed, typically right out of hardmode if you hoiked into the temple you have every material needed to summon him right after a mythril anvil, and being a somewhat easy boss to deal with you can get post golem bars and echo plasm right out of hardmode
I don't know how much this video took to create. I don't wanna know, that number is probably bigger than the size of an Eldritch Horror, I'd go insane simply by thinking about it. Thanks for the efforts man.

One thing you touched on but was missing some info that was mentioned in the patch notes, was that terratomere is getting 3 projectiles alongside the homing, and with that the Exoblade is getting a 4th projectile but losing a bit of projectile damage in return. Not sure if it was just missed or if it was back padled on at some point. Ill need to go find the specific changes note, so ill make an edit once i do. Edit, 382 - Made Terratomere fire 4 homing projectiles, greatly increased projectile life time, decreased use time from 83 to 54 and decreased damage from 370 to 145. - Done ✅ 383 - Made Exoblade fire 4 projectiles instead of 3 and decreased the damage multiplier for the projectiles from 0.46 to 0.35. - Done ✅ There I found it.
@@Murasama1 understandable, though it's a major rework for Terratomere, since Terratomere is currently very bad unless you true melee, since 80% of it's damage is from the swing, and the projectile is not very good to aim currently, and then balance changes for Exoblade. Though I'd mention it since you did say that Terratomere was getting homing, but nothing about it getting triple the projectiles.

This is gonna be fire, I'm glad they're taking this slower approach and actually planning everything better to not deal with annoying issues in the future.
Really hope the new Miracle Matter weapon is a summoner one. Currently there's basically no endgame weapon you can use the Angelic Alliance with, so we'd need an endgame summoner weapon hat focuses on multiple minions instead of the single, 5/10 slot minions we already have in droves.
Oh wow this is amazing. I really am looking forward to boss summon reworks as it feels like the progression loop is just making the boss summon item to summon it instead of any unique interactions
If AAA trash is gonna push this $70 shit then Fabsol and the team deserve a piece of it. I threw them $50, over payed for DM Dokuro's album, and I'm going for that Cal plush next.

Sure, that might be more underwhelming conceptually, but it definitely makes Xeroc much less shallow as a character. All-powerful entities get really boring really fast, since nothing is beyond them, no one can stand against them, and they often lack goals/motivations/purpose. New lore Xeroc is a cunning scholar who, witnessing the end of an Era, took the zenith of earthly power into their own hands. While the current presence of Xeroc in the lore is just a part of what's to come, you can already grasp a good deal of their character.

you know since infernum is mostly done being worked on all together, i wonder if calamity main (considering they seem to never want to stop working on this mod) will take over working on that extra difficulty. because there are some players like me that really love it and its kinds of challenges and it would be a shame to loose it when calamity gets its billionth rework
it's very likely that infernum will be outdated in the next 1 to 3 major updates, since from what i know there really isn't a lot of passion behind it anymore, so it's unlikely that they will do any major changes to it to accomodate the new changes in calamity, possibly even in 1.4.5, if there are enough core changes or additions that need extra bits in base terraria, that effect the mod, so play as much as you can rn, since there is a real chance that Infernum won't be playable at the end of the year.
Incernum was made by a fev who was on the team before the massive dev split over a year ago. There's definitely too much tension there for new calamity devs to pick it up.
@rpzamer1218 fabsol was going through dark times IRL and the rest of the dev team suffered for it for years. Eventually, the entire old team got fed up and fully quit some time in 2022. Infernum was a passion project by Dominic Karma, one of those developers. He continued development for a while, but has since discontinued it. He made some amazing follow up mods though, like "Wrath of the Gods" which adds 2 late game calamity balanced superbosses, and "Hunt of the Old God", which adds another late game calamity superboss themed around slime. The visuals for the slime boss were done by another previous Calamity developer, and are fkn amazing. Tldr though; Dominic and Fab have a rough history and a lot of tension, so infernum is pretty disconnected from the current dev teams reach.
We should be able to use Calamitas' thighs as a bed. Ok, like hear me out. We should be able to sleep on Calamitass thighs. Wonder if any dev would see this, but listen: First of all, we dont have any super interesting bed in Calamity Mod. But beds are just furniture and there are 14 of them you might say, but no we dont even have an auric bed, and all the other beds are not interesting. Ok the plague bed looks different but imagine if we could ask Calamitas to sleep on her thighs, thats a feature no other mod adds, and would add diversity to the game. I dont wanna stare at a boring old bed, I want something new, something fresh. Speaking of sleeping, it has a single feature in the game: setting a spawn point. And how interesting would it be to spawn on a NPC? A lot! Forget about all those boring set spawn points, we can have a dynamic spawn point that would spice up our gameplay. Im tired of looking at the same exact frame every time I die, and Im sure you are too! So think about it, you can spawn on an NPC! Wow! This would also encourage players to build and actual home and not use NPC prisons, which is a fair deal and would help us to acquire NPC equality and treat them fair. #StopAbusingNPCs! Ok lastly, it would let us relieve stress. Calamity is a stressful mod enough, requiring constant attention especially while fighting bosses, and the gameplay itself puts pressure on us. So an activity to take a break and relieve ourself would be great. Now I as you, what can you do in Calamity to take a break? Go mining? Fishing? Grinding? No! All of them require constant attention, you cant just go and relax while doing any of those, those activities themselves or the risk of mobs still require some work! So sleeping on the laps of ~~our waifu~~ a character that also needs love would be awesome in order to relieve stress and change the pace. I think those 3 reasons above are convincing enough. Think about it, wouldnt it be awesome? Im sure that many others like me would love to sleep on the thighs of Calamitas NPC, and it is beneficial to the mod, so this is a must-have feature and would take it to the next step. There are no other mod that lets us sleep on the thighs of an NPC, so it would also make Calamity the most unique mod out of all.

Listen ima say it bros been popping off with the views. Also, haven’t played calamity in forever been playing RLCraft which is just as fucking horrible if not worse than infernum. Actually, it worse. But it looks beautiful so far and I’m glad calamity is still getting fixes for weapons that are shit compared to others WHEN THEIR SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER
Is it just me, or are some of the things shown off kinda... bad? maybe just overproduced? Like I know there's a lot of effort put into it all and stuff, but I really prefer a lot of older things, like the current sprites for the crawlers, Slime God, Desert Scourge, and Yharon. Plus, changing the DoG sprite and drops is criminal imo, that boss was perfect as is. The new armor sets heavily rely on hotkeys/gimmicks, which sucks, and I really don't like the Adrenaline rework, as it feels less hype now. I do like the resprites for Signus, Clam, Armoured Digger, and Omegablue set bonus, so it's not all bad, but they stray away fron Terraria's style a lot. I should also note that I miss the old Siren/Leviathan, Bumblebirb, and Calamitas/SCal. I like the new Plaugebringer, but it's not entirely worth it. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few resent-ish changes I like/dislike, but you get the idea. I'm sure the bosses will have better fights and gameplay and all, but the whole mod feels way too overproduced. Like, seeing the new Slime God standing next to King Slime looks so weird, and it makes me wish Calamity stayed closer to the original game (I would rather have Calamity downgrade than Terraria upgrade). I just hope there's a more "vanilla" way to play this mod, similar to how it is now or even earlier. The dev team is doing a great job making The Calamity mod, but a bad job of making a Terraria mod, especially for how synonymous Calamity is with the base game. I feel like they need to tone it back for the mod, and just work on their own game at this point. But honestly it's probably just me, I'm practically a boomer when it comes to this stuff ig.
im pretty sure in calamity vanities theres an item called the cosmic scarf thats literally a 1 to 1 size of the current DoG as a pet, it would be hella funny if they did that with the new one aswell

I cant play calamity everytime im about to start a playthrough I see a video like this showcasing whatll be in future updates so I think "Oh I wont start a playthrough yet, I have to start only when all this cool new content is out!" then as soon as its out theres new spoilers to further post pone my playthrough.
I'm beginning to experience something similar, but I have never played with mods before at all. How many times would you say you've postponed your playthroughs so far? And what's your best guess for when everything in this video might be finally released?
i stopped playing terraria about year ago mostly because i felt i beaten everything, i have finished most huge mods, finished many smaller and also many almost unknown that are very fun to play. One thing im still hyped for is a mod that would be as huge as calamity itself with its different gamemodes, thorium,fargo souls and MoR are great but arent that much packed with content as calamity does
and while playing calamity over and over after new updates is still cool, you end up fighting same mobs/bosses thousands of time just because of some small changes
what. a whip coming to calamity? impossible. I rember that one time they bullied another youtuber away cuz of the general hatred towards whips in the calamity community.
And the community doesnt hate whips, someone just had an opinion that whips where just melee weapons, you know the same kind of opinion like saying melee swords are just magic weapons xd, the thing is... that youtuber got too defensive of that claim and things escalated
@@sebasblos1 from what I rember he had pretty much overwhelming evidence of his claim but the people in the discord still wouldnt believe it. But whatever. In the end of course not the entire community hates whips. Just tragic that a few nutjobs will always reflect negatively on the whole.
i'll say it again and again, using EBF4 (and 5? idk) music is such a good decision, it's such a good ost and the few that will notice will have a VERY nice flood of memories coming in

The most usefull addition to calamity would be an in-game wiki for every type of weapon armor and stuff they have since it is extremely tiresome to tab out everytime you wanna find your next upgrade
I understand the reasoning around why this is taking so long but maaaaaaaaaaan is the waiting painful! I have such high hopes and interest in Calamity that I want to make an entire RP around it. But the constant changes and missing content at the moment makes me feel like I have to wait an EXTREME amount of time before this mod could be considered "finished" and could finally do a full playthrough and RP around it. Seeing this roadmap just makes me more excited for these changes and additions to come through, but it means I'll have to wait extra time before these pull through, meaning I can't really play Calamity until then... I mean I have played it, but it means once those changes come through, I would be resetting my progress, effectively making me start fresh each time... That's why I usually prefer to wait. But I guess at some point I just start feeling impatient...

Sure, that might be more underwhelming conceptually, but it definitely makes Xeroc much less shallow as a character. All-powerful entities get really boring really fast, since nothing is beyond them, no one can stand against them, and they often lack goals/motivations/purpose.
New lore Xeroc is a cunning scholar who, witnessing the end of an Era, took the zenith of earthly power into their own hands. While the current presence of Xeroc in the lore is just a part of what's to come, you can already grasp a good deal of their character.

you know since infernum is mostly done being worked on all together, i wonder if calamity main (considering they seem to never want to stop working on this mod) will take over working on that extra difficulty. because there are some players like me that really love it and its kinds of challenges and it would be a shame to loose it when calamity gets its billionth rework
it's very likely that infernum will be outdated in the next 1 to 3 major updates, since from what i know there really isn't a lot of passion behind it anymore, so it's unlikely that they will do any major changes to it to accomodate the new changes in calamity, possibly even in 1.4.5, if there are enough core changes or additions that need extra bits in base terraria, that effect the mod, so play as much as you can rn, since there is a real chance that Infernum won't be playable at the end of the year.
Incernum was made by a fev who was on the team before the massive dev split over a year ago. There's definitely too much tension there for new calamity devs to pick it up.

@rpzamer1218 fabsol was going through dark times IRL and the rest of the dev team suffered for it for years. Eventually, the entire old team got fed up and fully quit some time in 2022. Infernum was a passion project by Dominic Karma, one of those developers. He continued development for a while, but has since discontinued it. He made some amazing follow up mods though, like "Wrath of the Gods" which adds 2 late game calamity balanced superbosses, and "Hunt of the Old God", which adds another late game calamity superboss themed around slime. The visuals for the slime boss were done by another previous Calamity developer, and are fkn amazing.
Tldr though; Dominic and Fab have a rough history and a lot of tension, so infernum is pretty disconnected from the current dev teams reach.

Ok, like hear me out. We should be able to sleep on Calamitass thighs. Wonder if any dev would see this, but listen:
First of all, we dont have any super interesting bed in Calamity Mod. But beds are just furniture and there are 14 of them you might say, but no we dont even have an auric bed, and all the other beds are not interesting. Ok the plague bed looks different but imagine if we could ask Calamitas to sleep on her thighs, thats a feature no other mod adds, and would add diversity to the game. I dont wanna stare at a boring old bed, I want something new, something fresh.
Speaking of sleeping, it has a single feature in the game: setting a spawn point. And how interesting would it be to spawn on a NPC? A lot! Forget about all those boring set spawn points, we can have a dynamic spawn point that would spice up our gameplay. Im tired of looking at the same exact frame every time I die, and Im sure you are too! So think about it, you can spawn on an NPC! Wow! This would also encourage players to build and actual home and not use NPC prisons, which is a fair deal and would help us to acquire NPC equality and treat them fair. #StopAbusingNPCs!
Ok lastly, it would let us relieve stress. Calamity is a stressful mod enough, requiring constant attention especially while fighting bosses, and the gameplay itself puts pressure on us. So an activity to take a break and relieve ourself would be great. Now I as you, what can you do in Calamity to take a break? Go mining? Fishing? Grinding? No!
All of them require constant attention, you cant just go and relax while doing any of those, those activities themselves or the risk of mobs still require some work! So sleeping on the laps of ~~our waifu~~ a character that also needs love would be awesome in order to relieve stress and change the pace.
I think those 3 reasons above are convincing enough. Think about it, wouldnt it be awesome? Im sure that many others like me would love to sleep on the thighs of Calamitas NPC, and it is beneficial to the mod, so this is a must-have feature and would take it to the next step.
There are no other mod that lets us sleep on the thighs of an NPC, so it would also make Calamity the most unique mod out of all.

Is it just me, or are some of the things shown off kinda... bad? maybe just overproduced? Like I know there's a lot of effort put into it all and stuff, but I really prefer a lot of older things, like the current sprites for the crawlers, Slime God, Desert Scourge, and Yharon. Plus, changing the DoG sprite and drops is criminal imo, that boss was perfect as is. The new armor sets heavily rely on hotkeys/gimmicks, which sucks, and I really don't like the Adrenaline rework, as it feels less hype now.
I do like the resprites for Signus, Clam, Armoured Digger, and Omegablue set bonus, so it's not all bad, but they stray away fron Terraria's style a lot.
I should also note that I miss the old Siren/Leviathan, Bumblebirb, and Calamitas/SCal. I like the new Plaugebringer, but it's not entirely worth it. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few resent-ish changes I like/dislike, but you get the idea.
I'm sure the bosses will have better fights and gameplay and all, but the whole mod feels way too overproduced. Like, seeing the new Slime God standing next to King Slime looks so weird, and it makes me wish Calamity stayed closer to the original game (I would rather have Calamity downgrade than Terraria upgrade).
I just hope there's a more "vanilla" way to play this mod, similar to how it is now or even earlier. The dev team is doing a great job making The Calamity mod, but a bad job of making a Terraria mod, especially for how synonymous Calamity is with the base game. I feel like they need to tone it back for the mod, and just work on their own game at this point.
But honestly it's probably just me, I'm practically a boomer when it comes to this stuff ig.

I cant play calamity everytime im about to start a playthrough I see a video like this showcasing whatll be in future updates so I think "Oh I wont start a playthrough yet, I have to start only when all this cool new content is out!" then as soon as its out theres new spoilers to further post pone my playthrough.

i stopped playing terraria about year ago mostly because i felt i beaten everything, i have finished most huge mods, finished many smaller and also many almost unknown that are very fun to play. One thing im still hyped for is a mod that would be as huge as calamity itself with its different gamemodes, thorium,fargo souls and MoR are great but arent that much packed with content as calamity does
and while playing calamity over and over after new updates is still cool, you end up fighting same mobs/bosses thousands of time just because of some small changes

actually super excited for this update, calamity is literally what got me into terraria
I understand the reasoning around why this is taking so long but maaaaaaaaaaan is the waiting painful! I have such high hopes and interest in Calamity that I want to make an entire RP around it. But the constant changes and missing content at the moment makes me feel like I have to wait an EXTREME amount of time before this mod could be considered "finished" and could finally do a full playthrough and RP around it.
Seeing this roadmap just makes me more excited for these changes and additions to come through, but it means I'll have to wait extra time before these pull through, meaning I can't really play Calamity until then... I mean I have played it, but it means once those changes come through, I would be resetting my progress, effectively making me start fresh each time... That's why I usually prefer to wait. But I guess at some point I just start feeling impatient...
