Your since of humor is what I love. We have a small garden but in younger days we had big gardens. We can only do small now but we must keep at it. Do keep me laughing. You are doing a great job. Hugs and blessings

Loving the update Emma. One tip for the netting is to put small plant pots upside down on the top of the sticks. Just helps keep the net from sliding down. Keep up the good work

I sowed 156 Sweet Pea seeds a few days ago, in my unheated, glassed in porch. In little pots with 4 seeds per pot. I noticed your channel. It's great. In Ohio. I'm going to make a long row using bamboo poles and twine. It's beastly hot in Ohio. So I have 3 kinds of climbing runner beans i will put thete, and pull the sweet peas out when they are done.

I listen to TH-cam sort of like podcasts. This particular video was an auto play. However, I am subscribe to you and I love your channel and I love what you’re doing with the new plot. 16:33

I wished I would have seen this video before planting my sweet peas. You mentioned that you soak your sweet pea seeds first before planting them. Unfortuntely I skipped this step but will hope for the best. At least now I know how to build a sweet pea teapee. thanks

Fab watching, great to see you at the allotment. I don't have one, but I grow in pot's in the garden.

Get some hooks on the wood piece to the left side wall to hang your scissors and stapler or just get an old container or even a washing up bowl for bits of tools. I have a set of 3 drawers to put mine in and Home Bargains are doing them now You could put it on your table, as the unit doesn't take up much room. Make life easy is my motto.

135m2? Amazing .. here in Haarlem (North Holland) you get 5m2 and that's if you're lucky. Yay for you 🙂

i have planted sweeet peas for the 1st time this year. im so excited to grow them this year! i was so worried about growing them with a young child as she will walk throiught the allotment/garden and eat freely. now she is older and we have a flower garden ill pop them in there and im much less worried about growing them.

Hi Emma hope your well. With any netting what I use is....
The cup.. mug hooks they have a thread pressure drill side of the raised beds and screw the cup hooks onto place then hook the netting across the beds so it's taught and nit touching what's growing.
I use this same simple cheap method when I put my debre netting over the water pipe hoops to jeep the netting taught and in place yo keep out foxs out yo stop them useing yhe beds as a loo and also keep the birds out and the flying rats pigeons there such a pain in the behind at our sight there's millions of them.
The mug hooks you get from screwgix toolststion and I think wilkos do them.
Hope this may have been dome help all yhe best.

I love the self=chatter and banter you have - it's very much like my own little running commentary when I'm doing stuff that I'm not overly confident about, so it's probably a way of managing my lack of confidence. This was a great vlog. I've recently started to follow as I've just managed to finally get my own allotment and your info is great!

Your pea teepee will need to be about 5 feet taller, and a lot bigger round the base. Those things grow to about 8 feet high!

Tip to raise the net over the beans, Get some empty 2l drink bottles, cut the bottom off and then you put them on the poles/sticks and then net over the top, you can then peg or weight down the net.

Plott looks fantastic! I'm so excited for starting seeds! Just started 2 days ago here (Tomatoes and Artichokes) in central US. Micro greens and sprouts in a window seal : a great way to grow a little - if it's not time to start garden seeds yet for you! Well wishes, happy spring seed shopping 💗🌱💗! Nice sweet pea structure! 💖

i sowed some sweetpeas in late october to over winter in my un heated greenhouse. They have some how managed to survive all the freezing weather we keep getting and are still looking great. i even planted them out about a week ago and they are neary knee hight. I will also sow some now too and im hoping for early flowers from the winter sown ones and then flowers from the others in summer. that way i might just get flowers for most of the year.

The bean damage looks like mice they nip the base of the beans. They also eat the beans when they swell and are nice and sweet. Good plan to protect them. It’s a constant battle. In London it could be rats eating your crops.

Have you thought about hanging a bird feeder with seeds and oranges for the birds as they are making their nests and getting ready to give birth. Maybe they would leave your new plants alone.

Looking good, young lady. I've got a bunch of things started inside. Won't be transplanting till early May here in mid-MO, USA.

  • @woutmoerman711
    @woutmoerman711 ปีที่แล้ว

So you grow the peas in the same place as last year on the high net? I thought you shouldn't do that. But for small gardens and mixed plantings it probably doesn't matter much. Were not growing acres of the same crop.
All the best from the Netherlands!

Hihihihi.... Why bother.... Just try to live with the nature around you.... Is a lot cheaper and better for the environment.... Just don`t buy extras like Nets.... Risebeds.... etc.... etc.... Gardening like in the middle age.... cheaper, healthier.... Who knows what the acidic rain washed from all that artificial stuffs of the Material to your ground.... A square without border.... etc.... So you can work through, over it and dig it in and shuffle.... Whatever and each milimeters of your ground can be planted.... Stuff, plants, vegetables, which.... suitable to your area without the birds shows interest in it.... etc.... etc... a bit different from many.... Have fun!
