- Straight piped f22 N20, it’s loud on cold starts which the biggest downside in my opinion as it can get very obnoxious especially with neighbours. Once it’s warmed up it’s significantly quieter, it doesn’t drone in the cabin as the cars have very good insulation system from factory. You get nice amount of bubbles and pops, if you’re going downhill and keep it between 3k-4K RPM they become gunshots 💥💥. For a car without a tune it sound great and I would definitely recommend it 🤙
Sounds mint
Nice!
Thank you!!
is it a stock single cat or did you buy it ?
Sounds great but please do something with the suspension, that wheel gap makes your car look like it has a lift kit. Even some HR lowering springs would do the trick they're less than $200
I know what you mean bro, I’m getting wheels first when tyres are due
Did you have to cut your bumper for the tips to fit? What are the deminisions of the tips? (inlet/outlet size tip?)
On stock 228i diffuser i didn’t cut anything, inlet was 3” and outlet wat twin exit 2.75”
hey man, sounds great. i have a muff and res delete on my 428i but it doesn’t burble. do you happen to know how big the piping is?
Hey man, cheers for that. It’s definitely 3” or slightly bigger I’ll have to measure it again. I suggest checking your engine code again by typing in the VIN in one of the sites as it’ll tell you whether you have an N20 or N26. They look very similar but have their own slight differences, N26 has more restrictive exhaust which includes additional catalytic converter and res. I went dual exit recently and it made the biggest difference in sound, I’ll upload the video soon explaining everything so maybe you can compare it to yours and see what is different cuz I’ll be going under the car
I got a muff and res delete with a cts turbo intake and o get little pops in sport but loud pops and bangs in eco with the shifter pushed to the left. Any reasons why?
Is the drone very annoying during driving from stop to stop?
Not at all man, the drone is almost none existent. Our cars and F series BMWs have really good sound deadening in the cabin. It’s a perfect balance of quite and loud whenever you want it to be, if you leave it in comfort it’ll be not even noticeable with windows up
So just from the cat back, there is 3’ exhaust pipe that goes all the way to the rear into a dual tip?
Yeah man so with N20 engine you’ve got one cat and one resonator with one muffler. With N26 it’s two cats and two resonators. I just did muffler and res delete, in my recent videos I went dual exit into 4” tips and it made the sound more refined and deeper
Thanks man for getting back with me, I’m look to do the same thing…
Hello, where did you buy your exhaust tips ?
You can get them online, look up 4 inch exhaust tips. You need to weld them tho
plan on straight piping my 228i, how much it cost ya?
In total it was $420 AUD, it’ll be heaps cheaper if you buy your own tip from eBay or marketplace
thats a catback not a straight pipe
Whack
What pos you drive
