I’ve had mine 3 months now (same colors and equipment as yours) and I think it’s fabulous. The car is beautiful in the flesh (including the rear) and it does everything well. An absolutely perfect every day driver. The only thing I would replace it with going forward is an M240i convertible when it’s available. I’ve owned 9 BMW’s and loved each one but this is the closest to perfection in size, performance, quality and looks.
@@nathanlindberg2378 I’m 6’ and have no problem at all. Don’t think you’ll have any issues at 6’3” either except nobody will ever sit behind you while you’re driving. You will love the car. My wife and I have had 8 BMW’s since 2011, 3, 3 series sedans, 3, 4 series coupes and a convertible and an X3 M40i and now the M240i and I’ve loved every one but this is the best. It’s a perfect car. Size, power, handling and looks. Enjoy yours.
Picking mine up from dealership next week! Too many haters of the design - same guys who ignore a gorgeous girl because of a longer-than-normal toe (Shallow Hal). The car is amazing and in my opinion provides more for the everyday driver than any of that noise coming from the Supra or Nissan Z.
Very nice review! Agree everything you say. I have an M2 since nearly 4 years now, and ordered the new M240i in February. But I choosed the all black whit red calipers🤷♂️😄
Good comment regarding colour choice, it seems like about 75% of modern cars are white, black or dark grey. A splash of colour goes a long way in making the G42 body pop.
Great review thank you. Mine is due in July 22. Brooklyn Grey on Red leather with Pro Pack Wheels,Tyres & Oil cooler. Plus black pack exterior. Reviews like yours help with the long wait.
Can't wait for you to get your hands on an i4. Seems right up your alley. Would be curious to see what an M owner thinks of it in terms of benefits and compromises.
In 2021 I went into the dealer actually looking for a manual 240, finding it no longer was offered with a manual. I ended up with a 21 M2 instead but honestly.. would much rather have the 240. The M2 has too much performance for 99.9% of even sporty driving conditions. Had the new M240 had a manual, I'd definitely trade for it.
Nice review! Looking forward to the M2 comparison. Just a thought, how about a comparison vid with the M240i and a Model 3? Both quick cars, AWD, and good handling but not track focused. Ps. I like my white M240i!
Nice detailed oriented review. Good to know what the pluses and minuses are on these cars even though I know the chances of getting this kind of car is slim. Good video
I think you’ll find a”base” 230i (without pricey performance options) best, especially for less than $40,000. With the Convenience Package as the only option I paid $39,500. I would only add lumbar support and a universal garage door opener.
I want to like the M240, but I can’t. The rear end looks unfinished while the front doesn’t have the dual-sided headlights like previous BMW’s. Also, love that you brought back the drone views!!
M2, just because it's more special. This generation M240i is more of a grand tourer. I had a F22 M240i 6 speed and I just sold it because the market is insane. My friend just got this new M240i and it's definitely a lot faster and comfortable than my F22 was. But when driving it, as I mentioned it felt like a touring car more than its B58 cousin the Supra or even my old 240. And that's fine, part of the reason I sold my car was because like you said, it was starting to get annoying to daily in traffic and such. So now I'm sitting here with a Model 3 Performance on order as a replacement, which is a compromise between daily driving comfort but also with the ability to satisfy my monkey brain need to go fast when I want to.
@Richard Roison We ordered it June 2021, Long Range, not performance. It seems to take forever. I don’t know why it takes so long to get a car, but I’ll be happy when it arrives!
Great video ! As a g42 owner I want to ask what you mean by slop in comparison to the M2 - are you referring to softer dampening and a little more body roll? I feel the car is precise, well controlled, and has no slop. It is less stiff than a car that is set up for more track duty for sure, even in sport mode. I am sure it has a little more roll than the M2, that is the trade off of the m-lite.
Softer dampening and more body roll is what I mean. It's not a bad thing and the only way you could feel it like I did is if your drive them back to back like I did which is rare. I was just amazed at how much more raw feeling an M is compared to an M-lite.
My 2015 mk7 Golf R needs a change. This m240i xDrive with an MSRP starting just under 50K is a steal... Might have to wait a while for the dealer markups to drop tho.
@@jroz34 oh man you're killing me. I have a lapis blue mk7. So you mean you traded in your mk7.5 for a 2022 m240i or you trade it in your 2019 m240i for a 2022?
@@jroz34 I freaking love that 2022 m240i. Everything about it. From the side profile view it's got that long Hood with the really short tail. Almost reminds me of the old z4m coupe but not really. I even love those triangle intakes in the front bumper. And the 2018 m240i that I drove had 335 HP and 369 lb of torque. But now you're HP has been bumped up to 382. It's faster in a straight line than the M2 competition. 0 to 60 and in the quarter mile, and it's obviously so much more comfortable and smooth and perfect for daily. Congratulations bro you must be loving it. Did you get the awesome purple or Brooklyn Gray or stay safe with black?
@@jroz34 and if you don't mind me asking if you're in the US.. were you able to get it at its MSRP of I think it's $48,980 starting price? Or did you pay a markup if you don't mind me asking. I'm just kind of curious what it ends up costing out the door when it's reasonably equipped
I'm not BMW fan and the 2 getting bigger, heavier, uglier & auto/awd only are all things I really don't like. But I'll be damned... I kinda like this. I could see myself driving this every day and not really wanting much more (would need to keep something with a 6mt though). Good review Gjeebs.

Thanks for the informative video I would like to ask which you recommend m240 or m440 if I don’t care about rear seats

Good review. Looks like a fun car. Too bad about the transmission. The blue one for me.

The Tesla Model Y! ✌️

What you are describing is the old typical BMW drivers but since then they’ve all moved on to Audi 🎉
Just picked up same car from Austria delivered to Germany. Whats your thoughts on color match wrapping of mirrors side skirts? Thanks
I think it looks great on this model. Came like that from the factory

Much nicer in person
No turn signals and not letting people go at stop lights 😂
In EU it has 374 horsepower 😅
Not as planted as the m2, because some don't want an m2.
