- In this video I'm driving the new generation BMW M240i, even though I. wasn't a particular fan of the new M240i for certain reasons, maybe this tuned version courtesy of AUTOID, I might think differently.

I love the auto ID guy at the end of the video checking the tyre tread on the rear wheels😂. After sideways Sid was done with it, I’d probably check too.
Enjoying the new series of videos. I quite like the new car, haven’t driven the M240i but a 220D and out of the box I was super impressed, particularly as I have a modified manual F22 M240i. The AWD stuff probably hinders the new car in that it might be a little too competent and not as fun but the aftermarket seems to have solved that. I like the looks too.

Really really brilliant video and I’ve watched so many thanks very much. Loved how you started with a kind of dystopian stance, not just raving about it. But then by the end, he just couldn’t help it 😂 question, is there a way of modifying the steering to get the feel back, I’ve heard people speak over and over about the numb feeling on the steering. Not heard of any modifications that would bring the connection back to the road. Please let me know and thanks again

Keep in mind the new 2 series (coupe) is based on the 4 series platform so its going to feel more like a smaller 4 series obviously

may be heavier, but the old 240 model was shocking and twitchy on handling (unless an M2), so amazed you thought old version better to start with.

All these cars are getting faster whilst the limit even on regular roads are getting slower, 20 mph London & they're probably going to drop the speed limit to 50 mph on motorways

No it’s not a M car but having had a M2comp this seems to be quicker even in stock mode,the M2 is essentially a track car all wind and bluster while this is a more every day car,also bearing in mind today’s fuel prices my M2comp was giving me 20 mpg in comfort mode
I love it. It looks better that than the M2.

I’m surprised of people saying is not an M car. So let me ask you a question do you make the car or BMW does ? Because for what I know it is made by bmw and if they put M240i then it is in fact an M car just not a full blown M car for track like the M2,3,4 etc…

Upgraded catted down pipe and JB4 piggy back tune.. that’s it!
Because you can get nearly 800bhp with an M4 running stage 3 and hybrids 👍🏻

There currently isn’t any flashing of the DME due to the encryption
yes tuning boxes can be detected even after removal, but bmw would only search within the parameters if you had engine or drivetrain issues.

Just don’t see how you can beat a manual M2C at the moment, £45k mark gets you one low mileage still in warranty, manual gearbox too

They are too heavy, sports coupe shouldn’t be above 1400kg kerb weight after that it’s saloon or a 4x4

Modern BMW’s Merc’s etc are so cheaply built. My mates dad got given a mid range 71 plate C class as a car courtesy car while his car was being repaired - the panels particularly the boot were paper thin. The interior was cheap and flimsy.
The new c class doesn't have the best of materials, because their main focus is the design but the 3 seires is much better in terms of quality but the design is more simple
Because the M4 is a better car?? Especially now that it comes in xdrive! G42 is more performance per dollar, but it'll never be an M4

Why buy an M4? Stock M4 f82 420whp STOCK M4 G82 480BHP+ STOCK. M engine. An actual semirace car this m240i could never handle like an M car. RWD FUN. DCT trans meaning less transmission loss %. Lets not forget abt to Theres alot of reasons why i personally would still buy an m4 instead of a stupid b58 garbage slow car. b58 has only forged crank and rods.

Why? Because the M4 is a much better car. That’s why. You’re comparing your tuned 3-series, that’s has a bunch of other modifications done to it, to a stock M4. Put all those same mods on the M4, and the 3-series won’t stand a chance. I don’t know why these stupid comparisons (tuned vs stock) are made. I have a modified GTI that’s plenty fast to beat a lot of cars, but I’m smart enough to know that I’m heavily modified, and I shouldn’t be saying my car is better because it’s faster. With that logic, I would just say, okay then a Toyota Paseo with $30k put into it, of which would destroy most $80k+ cars in speed, is better. NO! It’s a modified car. It’s still a Paseo. The M340i is still a regular 3-series car. Sorry, not sorry…
