I'm so happy I found this video, after cleaning carpets the wrong way for 20 plus years I followed step by step and it worked like magic and I won't be dreading cleaning my carpets anymore....it was great to have spent 30 mins from start to finish on a carpet rather than hours...Thank you!!
I just saw your video, nine months later, and I was glad I clicked on it. I always vacuum the carpet first and just like many others, I add the soap mixture to the tank, well after seeing your video, I put the cleaner in a sprayer and followed your directions. This not only worked, it cut my cleaning time down and my carpet looks great. Thank you for the tips.
I use a separate sprayer too but I use water and a little Clorox Laundry Sanitizer in the machine. The Clorox product is meant for the rinse cycle of a washing machine so it doesn't need rinsing. It kills bacteria and makes the carpet smell great!
@@giselsilvabecause the sprayer in the vacuum puts down way too much shampoo. It's like dumping a whole bottle of laundry detergent into the washer when you only need a full ounces. Also, using separate sprayer gives the shampoo time to penetrate the carpet before being vacuumed up.

I'm gonna have to get one of those rake looking things! That looks so satisfying! I JUST cleaned my carpet this evening in my house and am SO proud of myself as it looks absolutely spectacular!!!!
This was the easiest to follow videos I’ve ever seen on using one of those carpet cleaners! I’ve been doing it wrong all these years. Thanks for the tips!
Your carpet cleaning tips have gone the Stanley Steemer seal of approval. It's so satisfying to see someone who actually knows how to clean a carpet and not completely destroy it.
Thank you. First room I did with my Bissell I added recommended soap to the tank. CONSTANTLY having to empty the tank of suds. Then went over it TWO more times to get the soap out. That’s why I’m here and I’ll pre-treat and use the tank for a warm water rinse.
Just use tide with oxi in the yellow bottle. It's the exact same enzymes as carpet cleaning shampoo, low suds & it actually works better as well as leaves a better scent behind. It's the best smell & not too scenty either
definitely dry it fast. and definitely go over it with just the suction repeatedly till nothing comes out. ive had carpet smell after and had to re shampoo everything cause it dried too slowly.
So I'm looking at videos to best clean my carpet with my brand new Hover Smartwash and came across yours. THANK YOU! The carpet doesn't dry 100%. It didn't occur to me that turning the temp up, a ceiling fan or opening a window would help. You've also convinced me that I NEED a carpet rake. I'm subscribed and super excited what else I'm going to learn from your videos!
As a carpet cleaner this is exactly how to clean carpets. These are the steps I take all be it with higher grade equipment and a wider range of cleaners.
Awesome video bro !! I never have watched cleaning videos before and this was super entertaining haha !! Cant wait to see your progress throughout the CREATOR now program !! Let’s GOOOO TEAM 8
What you should mix in into the clean water tank is a rinse, such as Prochem all fiber rinse, or Prochem all fiber deep clean rinse so that the ph level will be balanced out so that it doesn’t re-soil as quickly.
Thank you! I tried this and I was surprised at just how much cleaner my carpet was than when I did it by putting water and soap in the tank of my carpet cleaner!
First things first, let's get all your furniture relocated to a different spot in the house. Next, go ahead and open up those windows to let some fresh air in. After that, grab your vacuum and give your carpet a thorough cleaning on the highest setting. Then, spray on some pre-treat to help loosen up the dirt and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Once that's done, it's time to start cleaning your carpet. Finally, use a fan to help dry out your carpet. Happy cleaning!
Thank you so much for these tips. Wish I had them when I used to clean my mother’s house 😂😂😂 I’d have been done in a jiffy 😂. Now I moved into a carpeted place and I was like oh gosh! But these tips will help. Off to buy the carpet cleaning machine thing 😅
I used fairy washing up liquid on a carpet, and it came out just as clean I pre-treated it using a household spray bottle (rinsed out) Before vacuuming, i swept the carpet with a stiff brush to lift the fibres and again after rinsing out
My mom had a grooming rake and I've been looking for one for years. My friends all go. A what? A carpet rake. Yes. And yes I can see how they would be addictive
Can’t wait to try this method out! Been dealing with pets my whole life and every time I clean the carpets, it doesn’t look so good after and it smelled worse than before
If you're dealing w/ pet issues, like vomit, urine or pooping, the Vacuum Wars guy consulted w/ a professional cleaner as well. Hydrogen Peroxide, the strong solution as a pre spray apparently works way better than any of the stain or odour removers he tried. He was testing w/ coyote urine and it got it all out, sometimes w/ some redo for stubborn spots.
I used a carpet cleaning company. Did a terrible job! $120 and I had to redo the cleaning. Thank you for this video. I will never use professionals again.
To pretreat a carpet I just open that spot cleaning attachment hose door (I use a bissell proheat 2x revolution pet) and run the cleaner with it open, it’s gonna spray the solution and rub it into the carpet but won’t suck it back. Spray pump looks easier though if there’s one around
Did all of this the last two days never seen this vid before. Also use a carpet rake to work pre spray into the carpet fibers before using the shampooer then again at the end for quicker dry time
Absolutely Great video thanks! Advice please....my carpet has been washed several times with soapy solution ,dried and vacuumed....now very dirty....how do I get the previous soap out first , so that I can then use your method of cleaning? Really need your help as the house has just been painted and there is a lot of mess. Thanks in advance 😊
Thanks so much for the kind words! So I would recommend just flushing with warm water a few times to remove the soap residue. I would finish with the method in this video. :)
I see you added carpet cleaner from the spray pump but that machine has a canister in the back that you’re supposed to add solution to. Does that stay empty in that case?
@@carnavs if you are not pressing on the button for the soap to come out does that mean its rinsing or is it just pulling the water up? I have a home bissell machine and despite its lack of complexity I have no idea what Im doing w it
I love Brandon's vids and followed the directions to a T. Brandon, do you add water into the solution tank, leave it empty, or something else? For anyone who buys the Hoover Smartwash: know that it can be incredibly finicky with it's in 'dry mode' setting, whether it's 'dry only' or the normal dry mode. As in, it will say it's in dry mode, but the device won't suck anything up. I've had to turn it off and on many times to get it to do what it says it's doing. Be careful!
I have older carpet and it has stains. I did have a smaller Bissell unit to clean animal stains until I realized the Bissell and its recommended soap were actually taking color off of my carpet. Until I am able to get another carpet (or figure out if I can afford to re-finish the hardwoods below). Does this procedure remove stains? Or do I need to treat those stains separately. I enjoyed the video. 🤩😍😍

I've been meaning to get one for a while, but have no idea which one is worth buying. Thanks in advance. Getting tired of sweeping up daily. 🙄
I use the pet purple ball dyson vacuum… I will vacuum twice going each direction and I still get TONS of animal hair up if I use an uproot clean rake. Should I use that rake on my carpets too prior to deep cleaning them? I thought I was getting a good pet vacuum, but I guess not 😢
