Lately with taku leaving the bay for bigger adventures, I couldn’t help but think taku is living the best life. Then I see Jocelyn at 5:50 sitting in the background sipping wine made me realize “no, Jocelyn DEFINITELY the one living the best life.” 👍😂
The amount of work to film and edit a one hour video does not go unnoticed, I’ve edited a few 20 min ones in the past and it took me like 2 hours!! I could only imagine the hours put into this. Thanks Taku!!

seeing the footage of you guys driving around new zealand sends back so many memorys. back in 2011 two friends and i fly to NZ, converted a van and traveled around for a year. i freaking miss those days for sure! i wish you a unforgattable time in NZ, amazing people and beautiful country all around!
I hope you guys are going to come back soon after this is all done. I've been here all my life but have rarely gone exploring. Its great seeing a different side to the country i call home.

Taku I was worried for you when you went swimming at the French Pass. It is notoriously dangerous and has claim many lives over the years. It’s pretty much where the oceans collide hence the currents. Take care in NZ, some of our beach’s and bays can catch you out.

Hi Taku, I enjoy watching your fishing videos. I am based in Auckland and used to fish a lot. There are a couple of places in west Auckland called Whatipu and Muriwai that I went before. Always wanting to go back fishing there. The only thing is that you have to wait until low tide to get to those area. There are a few hours of fun/excitement haha.
I feel nostalgic watching you use Temuka ware as a dipping plate. I grew up with it, born in NZ. Come and visit Melbourne Australia next ? Loving your NZ tour xx

I love cormorants so I was definitely happy you gave one a little snack. So cool to see how fast they are underwater (that’s why they ride low when they are on the surface, they are made for diving and underwater swimming). What a cool video!
Wow, nice view from the drone. Sorry to see you missed catching the Kingfish. Hopefully you'll get a good one next time. That fishing spot looks nice with the lighthouse in the background. I can just sit there all day (from sunrise to sunset) eating, chilling, playing games on my phone or portable gaming device.
OMG I just got to the Cormorant part! So charming! I love those birds they are probably my favorite animal on the whole planet. Some species have been seen diving up to 45 meters (150ft)
Terrific viewing. You make a fishing day very enjoyable to watch. Blue cod 💙, Kahawai and yes 💙 Kingfish that you will eventually drag in and cook up a treat. Or sashimi. Our first of Kingfish we ate 4 different ways. Your Blue cod dish 💙 looked SUPERB. ESPECIALLY the dishing up with Korean pancake. Bon appetite friendly healthy couple. Gorgeous.😊😊😊😊😊

I love this channel. One of the best on youtube. I only have one opinion, that is not exclusive to Taku. IMO, so many go fishing with underrated gear. I love light tackle, especially for sport fishing. If I want to make sure I land dinner, I gear up. I think so much comes down to rod sensitivity. I've caught (and released) a half pound whiting, then landed a 35 pound drum on the same setup. Nothing different at all on the rod, reel and line. The rod sensitivity makes all the difference.
Thank you for filming. Those Kingfish are quite the elusive fish, every failure to land the fish will make even more gratifying when you finally catch one! The dynamic between Taku and the Kingfish could be captured in a great anime! lol.

One essential NZ food you gotta try is the FEIJOA fruit. It's currently Feijoa season. A lot of people have feijoa trees so I never pay for them, but they are available at the supermarket.

Another great video Taku. But you need to come to the Bay of Plenty! I too am on the hunt for my first kingie. I'm going to Ohope holiday park in a couple of weeks time to try and get one. They frequent the channel into the harbour often. Also, the lakes around Rotorua are renowned worldwide for their trout fishing! Holla if you come up this way ✌️

0:58 It used to be that way in the US. Long long time ago at a Sinclair far far away (just down the block). After full service went away, I remember gas stations mostly operating with a pump first pay later scheme. Then yeah enough people stole gas that it ended. lol It was cash/credit prepay for a while then the pump scanners came along.
Pump then pay used to be the common practice in the US from the late 1960s on. It died off in the 1990s. It worked pretty well actually. Pumping and dashing did happen, but it wasn't very common.
