@petermaier-supercellstar7079 oh i got you ha ha I forget that being online is mostly sarcasm lol. And yeah the videos can be a little awkward, but they're getting better with the edits and stuff. But it's authentic and authenticity is in short supply these days.
This episode brings me down memory lane to the time when I went camping with my Auntie and Uncle, and they fried up a trout like that in a mix of oil and butter. Crisp as a chip but oh sooo tasty... Gosh, I can't get enough of this Hawaii series!
One of my favorite types of fishing when I was a teen was to run with a dip net through the schools of smelt that were in the Punalu'u river shallows. I used to surf there too. It was all gravel and I don't know how I didn't break an ankle but it was no problem to teenage me. I'd dig a hole in the sand that would fill up with water and I'd get e1-3 smelt each pass. When I had enough I'd take them home (we lived next to Kaya's) and fry them up. I've tried smelt I've bought at the market here on the mainland and they don't taste anywhere near as good. I'm going home to Hawaii in two more years and I'll be an old buggah but I sure plan to do plenty of fishing.
Your videos are a thing of inspiration. I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s feels this; whenever I get stagnate your content rekindles a love for cooking and the outdoors
just about everyone from Hawaii I have ever met is is like that. the base level of empathy and compassion people have is admirable. not enough of that here.
It is an absolute joy to watch Taku filet a fish. One of the first things that drew me to his channel, that and his infectious chuckle whenever he catches a fish.
Love the professionalism of handling the burn, both being a chef and video host/creator, mans has a good poker face. Just found this guy and love his stuff, so glad he's currently enjoying the beautiful waters of my big little island nation of New Zealand!
Amazing video as always Taku, Justin, Ryan thanks for the amazing content nonstop!!! Oi Taku message me your hand measurements and I'll send you some fire pit gloves so you never have to worry about a handle again. 😉
I don't know why I'm always so hungry watching your show. Man the fry jumping Kole looks amazing. I miss spearing those in Hawaii. I didn't know about the Kole until some local told us to spear them some. Eating them raw, too is amazing. Great episode. Just love how Taku eats everything, bones, fins, tails, and everything; just how we eat, too.
Ain't too proud to admit that I would be staying back on shore with Jocelyn! I got caught in a rip tide in 3 feet of water as a kid and almost bit the dust.
Love seeing those hala trees in the background. Before you leave, be sure to pick up some stuff made out of lauhala (hala leaves) like placemats, little boxes, etc. The stuff has a wonderful feel to it.
Great Vid Taku, Glad HI is Treating You Both Well, BTW, met Your Kelp Collaboration Ketchikan Couple at the Las Vegas Fancy Food Show!!! I'm a Outdoors Guy, but also a Wine and Spirits Distributor in Las Vegas!!! Cheers!!!
I told you Taku have Ryan get Justin Lee and you would understand why I have so much respect for Justin and what he does. And I told your fan's who was hating on Ryan to check out his videos with Justin Lee so they would know why Ryan was a great choice for your Hawaii series. Justin is a local Hawaiian and he respects Ryan and Ryan respect him and the island life.
Awesome! I live on Maui but I have never seen kole prepared that way. You are so creative and talented! Been following you since da beginning brah, always look forward to Taku Tuesday’s.
I’m sure u won’t see this but big fan for a very long time. I can’t believe how far along you guys have came and the editing is incredible!!!!! Love all the places and people u guys have meet and all the yummy food ya cook. The only thing I wish is that more video please lol.
Story of my life about ladling oil where it shouldnt go 😅. I hope you slept alright that night and have healed by now. Kitchen life is hard, and outdoor chef life is HARDER! Can't even count the burns and stinging eyes. We all got the scars haha. Beautiful unique presentation. Very jealous watching y'all eat!
Growing up in the water, we used to pick up our nets at five in the morning and lay them out again at five in the evening every day. I learn to free dive with a three prong spear at a very young age. Jocelyn even I might have thought twice about jumping into the water where these guys are diving, the current seems rough so I think it was a good call on your part. Kole and Manini I grew up eating almost daily lol
I thought the comparison of the noodles to a cast net was a great idea for the name of the dish. Kole in Castnet would be a great name for the dish overall, and it really speaks to the visual aspect of the presentation. Awesome video.
I paused right when you started opening the mushroom package and how did you get the title to align perfectly above the sea horizon at the top of the screen. Great job on everything...
Justin's love and passion for Hawaii is amazing! He's a wonderful ambassador and adds so much heart.
All the content with Justin Lee is gold. Dude seems amazing to be around.
Never get tired of these Hawaii episodes!
Yes i'm getting tired too
@@D.H.1987 What you on bro.

@Peter Maier-Supercell star🤩 borh wrong. I was the one that was sarcastic. How can you not love this channel and these episodes!
If I could cook with anyone's confidence, ability and humility...I would choose Taku. Inspirational man!
I would choose Thanos.
I would choose Heisenberg
Taku Tuesday coming in clutch after a long day!

@@alexcarter8807 thanks for sharing! That sounds so fun. Nothing like childhood fishing memories and the recklessness involved 😂😂😂
This show just gets better and better! I’d love to see what y’all could do with some Texas red drum.
Your videos are a thing of inspiration. I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s feels this; whenever I get stagnate your content rekindles a love for cooking and the outdoors
I wanna be friends with Justin for real. My guy is golden! His perception of things is deep and light and full of love.
Jocelyn, I don't think anyone caught that you almost drowned! That's crazy, so glad you're okay!
I caught it. Sounds scary. I've almost drowned a few times as a child so... I'm still afraid of water.
The conversation that was happening during prep sounded exactly like me and the boys high out of our mind! Lmao.
Master class in appreciation, gratitude and respect. The cooking and fishing is dope too.
