I friggin can't get enough of these exact videos you used to always make back in the days. Super adventurous type. Keep em comin. Stay safe and have a blast . Thank you for sharing
Hello Spencer, old timers say to use the catfish slime in the finned hole and the same antibodies that work for the fish work on the fin wound. I’m an amateur at best and have gotten finned while cleaning them and it’s worked with no infection or real soreness. I guess the web of our hands are vulnerable because of how we hold them
I was about to say something along the same line. I seem to remember that the small young catfish about the sins of your palm always seemed to hurt the wrist to me, but smear the slime all over it, and you truly all but forget about it in no time at all. Hopefully the youngster will read our little bit of ancient lore, or backwoods medicine.
I have not commented on videos lately. But I highly enjoy the log jam fishing, these videos and you ,got me into buying a kayak and trying log jam fishing. 🗽🎇 America🇺🇸
Never not once have i not enjoyed watching one of your vids. Ive been quiet for a while now but i dont think ive missed one so far since i tripped over you in the feed. Pleasure as always Sir
A small Creek, a kayak, and Plenty of Fish!! I could almost taste that plate of fish you cooked up and didn't share with the rest of your audience!😅😅 love these kayaking videos keep them floating, and thank you again!
Hope the hand heals up Spencer. Small packets of vinegar from fast food joints work in a pinch, not quite as effective as rubbing alcohol but good enough if you need something on the way home. I grab a bunch (and a burger) and keep them in my vehicle/tackle box.
Nice fish Spencer! Looks like a great float capped off with a beauty flathead. I find up here in Michigan the scorching weather really turns on the flatheads, and makes them less nocturnal.
I definitely got a couple ideas for my kayak. Little channel stuck me a week ago. Being on blood thinner I’m glad it didn’t bleed much. As always the kayak videos are my favorite. Tight lines!
16:50 I always run my hand down the line and gently take them by the head. The fins serve as handles for me. Just my $0.02. Thanks for the good videos. I appreciate your approach.
Spencer, for my likes, you make the best catfishing videos; I could watch them all day. Everything about you (other than constant fishing), screams married man. Your rugged good looks, your yard, garage and house all look like a gorgeous wife & handsome kids are just off on the side. Can you fill us in any more on your background? My wife would never have put up with me fishing 10% of what you appear to fish. Do you have another career, or do you guide full-time? Perhaps you have a shy wife & the kids are too little to go fishing? Love the monster flathead videos the best, just curious. Thanks.
I'm loving these Kayak videos. Ya caught some fine fish, especially that Flatty. Sorry about the injury hope it doesn't cause you problems.Stay safe and God bless you and yours. 😊😊😊😊
Been a few years back, had a channel flopping in the floor of the yack and got me in about the same spot. Could have put a pen in the hole. Great video, love the skinny water vids!
I keep what I'm gonna eat and let the rest go. I forgot fish in the freezer once and felt like a jerk, so I don't do that anymore. Thanks for watching.
Do you know Spencer, when I was a kid many years ago. I jumped into a boat to go out fishing. Not realizing that there was a bunch of catfish down in the bottom of the boat. Well, I ended up getting the door open in the bottom of my foot went all the way through. Ended up going to the hospital and they had to remove it surgically. Not smart painful though.😊
Love the vids buddy!!! I know how your feeling from the sticking they are wired and mean hope your all good and it doesn't stop ya or put you down a day keep sore cheeking big Fatty's love the kayak aspect I get the jitters when a rod caves
Awesome video once again Spencer, I had a channel about that size get me right through the web between my thumb and my index finger, went clean through. So yea I know what it feels like.
Find some holes in that clay bank , flathead are in there. Friend Pulled two 30+ pounders out this weekend. Same climate as you well at least close enough central illinois. In a medium size creek.
They definitely like to spawn in those, it's just hard to target them in there cuz there's no clear spot to cast. At least for ignorant anglers like myself.
@@RiverCertified well, your far from ignorant. Lol we run trot lines and bank poles. My friend stuck his hand in the hole and pulled it out. We call it hogging, most call it noodling though. I think hogging sounds tougher. Lol
Hey Brother hope all is well just giving you a life update birthday was last Tuesday wife and I went fishing got some nice drum and 10 pound carp we are expecting my second baby girl in September keep the videos coming my first daughter loves watching you with me
Sooo I’ve never tried this, but you got me thinking. When I moved to Maine I noticed a lot of guys using these like, o-ring clip rings. They use them a lot while striper fishing. This way they can easily switch out lures. They hold 50lb stripers. So it seems like you already use a swivel that stops your slide sinker. What about using those clip rings with a hook tied on the other side, then just clipping it to the swivel? It seems easy enough. If that clip ring can hold a saltwater striper, it can hold a flathead.
I want to start catfishing out of my kayak in the rivers which I already have done some but I was wondering when do your kayak fishing do paddle back up stream when your done fishing or have like an end location you go to?
Bud, you and I are alike, I refuse to use snap swivels for anything for that very reason. Once I learned to basic palomar knot and snell knots, that's all I used until I started fly fishing heavily, then your typical double surgeon's knot or the blood knot and the good ole clinch or pitzen knots.
I have a question for you,Spencer. When I lived in North Carolina on lake Gaston, I caught channel cats. I also caught a lot of cats that were nearly black with a wide head. I’m at best, as I said an amateur when it comes to fishing many freshwater species
@Spencer! I know it's not your norm, but would you show your creekside cat cleaning? Those of us big on yak fishing can always use a few pointers, especially if it's down and dirty! 😉 😜
Nice flatty in the small of a stream also side note spencer you should carry hand sanitizer with you for cuts and such burns like hell for about 30 seconds but would have killed any bacteria in the hole I do it all the time and so far have not got an infection just a thought Spencer stay safe out there
Another killer video 🔥 I posted my first Kayak Fishing video from the other day today! Went back out today on the H10 and fished all around an old WWI and WWII Ship for next weeks video. Tons of neat stuff to be explored on the Yak!
Love these type as well. And may have said before but you didn't know kayak set up video lol why do you notch your paddle that way? Sure to keep from falling off or in garage set up but wanted to know. Thanks brotha😊
Those sail cats are mean too. I had two different buddies take me out when I lived in northeast Florida and I saw the one get finned, but the other wouldn’t even let one in the boat. It got him in the foot and he couldn’t walk without real pain for a week
I caught a little channel cat (no more than 12”) the other day and as I tossed it back it decided to flop. When it did it sliced my thumb right next to the nail deep enough that I had to cut off the chunk of skin to keep it from snagging on everything.
