You can do that with a Pixel or any android phone with an LED notification light. there is an app called light flow which allows to fully control and custmize your LED. I have set my charging light to be red and when it reach 95%, it turns green. you can even set a sound when you (plug in /out) the cable.

From an owner of an iPhone 7, I've been an apple fan for a long time but now I started to like Samsung more. It is more cheaper, I've always been a fan of the curved edges in the edge models, and I like the colors of it. And also that 1440p display while the iPhone 7 can go up to 720p. I don't hate Apple all that but Apple should start catching up with its competitors or shit will go lose in Apple.
No, its not cheaper. If you go to Samsung's official website, the msrp for the Galaxy S7 is still $672. Where as the iPhone 7 on Apple's official website, the msrp is $649. Also, although the battery is larger on the S7 and charges faster, the iPhone battery actually LASTS longer due to software optimization. Samsung is overrated and bloated with all kinds of hardware to make up for the shitty Android OS. I am not biased, I had a Galaxy S6 Edge and an S7. The phones work great for 6 months then they slowly start going to shit. OS upgrades come dead last and the battery lifetime is way less than an iPhone.

Look guys fast charging is cool and all. But ask anyone who knows a fast charge at 12v 2 amps or 5v 9amps is going to get the battery hotter and less life span over a period of time. If u change your phone every year then fast charge away my brothers and sisters. If your going to try and keep a phone for a few years then 5v 1 amp is the way to go. Just my 2 pennies it's your phone do what you want. P.s the iPhone Android debate is old. Buy what u like. They all work great.

rmp5s I don't know how accurate this is I have a 7 plus and it takes about an hour and a half for mine to fully charge and it can go a maximum of 2 days without charging for minimum usage.

All I know is that my 6p's battery life is ok for the most part...I usually get 4-4.5 hours of screen on time with normal use...but being able to plop it on the charger for 20 minutes and be good to go for a night out or whatever, no problem, is SUPER convenient. And this doesn't even have wireless charging OR the newest quick charging tech... Apple needs to step their game up. Big time.

good test nothing unfair about it. but fyi the fast charger for the pixel is only 9v where Samsung is 12v. I work with batteries every day I am a technician for battery powered products. I highly recommend using a slower charger to preserve the life of your batteries on day to day charging. the pixel has the best middle ground fast charger because its still fast but doesn't force so much all at once. That said I still recommend getting a 5v 2.5 amp charger for day to day use and save your quick charger for when your truly desperate to charge up. not only is it safer but your battery will stay at peak performance for years to come! That's to many steps lol I have a mother and a grandmother that both use Samsung phones (nothing against Samsung really!) But if it's something in settings that they have to go through sub menus for they ask me. Unless your a teen poking around in the settings menu people won't even know that setting exists until you tell them. I was hoping some kind of pop-up that offered fast or normal charging when connected to a fast charger.
It tells information about fast charging or normal and how long it will last but i think it would be annoying if there is a pop up every time charging but anyway its so easy to find in settings and even if you dont find just tap search button and you will find everything... 😂

The S7 Edge lasts nearly twice as long as the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus lasts a little longer than the Google Pixel XL. For instance, when playing a game like Pokemon Go at 100% brightness, the iPhone 7 Plus died after barely 4 hours whereas the galaxy S7 Edge still had 58% battery left even though the Samsung has a much brighter display. iPhone 7 Plus is very bad at battery life. Last year iPhone 6S Plus does waaaaaaaay better.
Kameel I seriously doubt that, my wife has the S7 Edge and I have the iPhone 7 and she's always struggling with battery and so was I when I had the Note5 and my son with his Note7. Samsung phones do charge much quicker, but they also do not last as long.

I love the freedom on my note 4 rather than ios on my iphone 6s which looks like easy mode in Android.. just dreadfully ugly.

Great video! Having owned both the iPhone 7 Plus and currently the Galaxy S7 Edge, you really had to test with the iPad charger. It really gives the Samsung a good run for its money in the charging department. Anybody who owns an iPhone 7 Plus needs to invest $19 in the iPad charger. I got rid of the iPhone 7 Plus due to it's awful Intel modem, that comes on the T-Mobile/AT&T variants. Loved the phone but and really enjoying the Samsung. In fact, I do a lot of email and texting, and the Swiftkey app and haptic feedback during typing are a revelation. I was originally going to go back to the iPhone when the iPhone 8 comes out in the Fall, but am pretty smitten with the S7 Edge.
What if you come home on friday and your friends want to go somewhere. but your phone is on 59%. this is when samsungs fast charge comes into play. this happens to me alot so fast charge comes in handy.
iPhone actually charges when the battery is 0% but after it reach about 5-10% of battery, the iPhone will turn on automatically. Android phones need to be manually turned on if you started charging from 0%.

Samsung phones last quite a while for me but I must admit I don't know why iPhones last a bit longer than Samsung when they have a bigger battery. Probably the resolution but I just take a power bank with me and it's fine.

The iPhone Plus charging does take longer to charge but I must say my battery lasts a very long time. Starting my day at 7AM. Using it regularly all day (browsing the internet, TH-cam, texting, calling etc) and by 6PM it is still at 75-80% battery remaining is impressive. This is my first iPhone and I gotta say I'm happy with my switch after owning a Lumia 1020, S6 Edge, Lumia 950XL and a Xperia Z5.

Quickly in the morning 30mins in the charger and boom, ~50% battery! 50% should be enough to pull through a heavy day ;) But with an iPhone 6/7 Plus? Nope. Either leave the iPhone at home or scout for a charger at wherever place you'll be going.
Peichen01 That is empirically proven not true. I own my Nexus 6 for over a year now and its battery hasn't worn out yet. It charges quite fast, about an hour I guess, and lasts long - about 5 hours of screen on time with 20 percent left. I hope that clears it up for you. And I have tweaked the kernel, so that's a main factor, some people use their device without knowing what they use. 😐
Kevin C. If you tweaked the kernel that's no longer a Nexus 6 is it? If your tweak lowers max clock, limits background process, change charging profile it could make it last longer or shorter.
Peichen01 Tweaks done to the kernel don't change the hardware they're done on, which is the Nexus 6. I didn't lower the frequency or limit the amount of background processes. But that doesn't matter anyway, what matters is the fact that the battery doesn't wear out in a year. I have the proof and wanted to clear it up for you. Thanks for acknowledgement.

I don't know where and how he's doing this test but my iPhone 7 plus charges to 100 percent around and hour and 40 minutes and can last me 2 days with moderate use compared to my stupid iPhone 6 that drained within 3 hours ( think the battery got damaged or something).
Charging speed on the iPhone 7 Plus is very slow but no need to recharge it until we sleep so it's not important at the final ! Don't forget that the original charger is just 1A. Try to use a 2A charger and you will a difference !

Well, on Phonearena.com, they did a test of the charge speed and it says that the charge time from 0-100 is 2h and 2 minutes in their case. I haven't see anywhere times under 2h, despite looking for it.

I saw a great comment below saying it's better for the battery to use slower charging. I would add a tip as well that you don't need to charge to 100% - the battery will live longer if you don't fully discharge it to zero (easy) and don't fully charge it to 100 (difficult). But having said that, most people don't keep their phone long enough anyway.
Yep they said "Get up to 7 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes" on their official site, some other sites I've seen is they said 70 percent in 7 minutes, either way both claims proven false in this video. I also did a hands on video of the Pixel if you're interested. :)

rmp5s I don't know how accurate this is I have a 7 plus and it takes about an hour and a half for mine to fully charge and it can go a maximum of 2 days without charging for minimum usage.

All I know is that my 6p's battery life is ok for the most part...I usually get 4-4.5 hours of screen on time with normal use...but being able to plop it on the charger for 20 minutes and be good to go for a night out or whatever, no problem, is SUPER convenient. I work with batteries every day I am a technician for battery powered products.
I highly recommend using a slower charger to preserve the life of your batteries on day to day charging. the pixel has the best middle ground fast charger because its still fast but doesn't force so much all at once.
That said I still recommend getting a 5v 2.5 amp charger for day to day use and save your quick charger for when your truly desperate to charge up. not only is it safer but your battery will stay at peak performance for years to come!

I have a mother and a grandmother that both use Samsung phones (nothing against Samsung really!) But if it's something in settings that they have to go through sub menus for they ask me. Unless your a teen poking around in the settings menu people won't even know that setting exists until you tell them. I was hoping some kind of pop-up that offered fast or normal charging when connected to a fast charger.
It tells information about fast charging or normal and how long it will last but i think it would be annoying if there is a pop up every time charging but anyway its so easy to find in settings and even if you dont find just tap search button and you will find everything... 😂

The S7 Edge lasts nearly twice as long as the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus lasts a little longer than the Google Pixel XL.
For instance, when playing a game like Pokemon Go at 100% brightness, the iPhone 7 Plus died after barely 4 hours whereas the galaxy S7 Edge still had 58% battery left even though the Samsung has a much brighter display.
iPhone 7 Plus is very bad at battery life. Last year iPhone 6S Plus does waaaaaaaay better.
Kameel I seriously doubt that, my wife has the S7 Edge and I have the iPhone 7 and she's always struggling with battery and so was I when I had the Note5 and my son with his Note7. Samsung phones do charge much quicker, but they also do not last as long.
I don't know what she does with her S7 Edge, mine gets me at least 5 hours of screen on time with Bluetooth connected to my LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition constantly.

Great video! Having owned both the iPhone 7 Plus and currently the Galaxy S7 Edge, you really had to test with the iPad charger. It really gives the Samsung a good run for its money in the charging department. Anybody who owns an iPhone 7 Plus needs to invest $19 in the iPad charger.
I got rid of the iPhone 7 Plus due to it's awful Intel modem, that comes on the T-Mobile/AT&T variants. Loved the phone but and really enjoying the Samsung. In fact, I do a lot of email and texting, and the Swiftkey app and haptic feedback during typing are a revelation.
I was originally going to go back to the iPhone when the iPhone 8 comes out in the Fall, but am pretty smitten with the S7 Edge.

The iPhone Plus charging does take longer to charge but I must say my battery lasts a very long time. Starting my day at 7AM. Using it regularly all day (browsing the internet, TH-cam, texting, calling etc) and by 6PM it is still at 75-80% battery remaining is impressive. This is my first iPhone and I gotta say I'm happy with my switch after owning a Lumia 1020, S6 Edge, Lumia 950XL and a Xperia Z5.

It charges quite fast, about an hour I guess, and lasts long - about 5 hours of screen on time with 20 percent left. I hope that clears it up for you. And I have tweaked the kernel, so that's a main factor, some people use their device without knowing what they use. 😐
Kevin C. If you tweaked the kernel that's no longer a Nexus 6 is it? If your tweak lowers max clock, limits background process, change charging profile it could make it last longer or shorter.

Tweaks done to the kernel don't change the hardware they're done on, which is the Nexus 6.
I didn't lower the frequency or limit the amount of background processes. But that doesn't matter anyway, what matters is the fact that the battery doesn't wear out in a year.

Well, on Phonearena.com, they did a test of the charge speed and it says that the charge time from 0-100 is 2h and 2 minutes in their case. I haven't see anywhere times under 2h, despite looking for it.

I saw a great comment below saying it's better for the battery to use slower charging. I would add a tip as well that you don't need to charge to 100% - the battery will live longer if you don't fully discharge it to zero (easy) and don't fully charge it to 100 (difficult). But having said that, most people don't keep their phone long enough anyway.
