Yah holy shit. No one fucking talked about Water Resistance as much when Samsung had it for like 3 years before the iPhone did. But now since Apple did it, all of a sudden people are just demanding every flagship to have water resistance. Unless you're using your phone near a pool or something I literally see no reason why this is a deal breaker. I live in Seattle and it rains half the time here, and none of the phones I've owned has ever been screwed over by rain or water. I've dropped my iPhone 4S once in the toilet (don't ask how), and it still works fine.
It is actually even less useful than that, I have a Sony z5 which is waterproof and the warranty only covers fresh water, and I'm sure its the same or similar with other waterproof phones, really not important
I feel like google named those colors that way on purpose, so people do get confused and say the name of the color wrong. One thing for sure, no one is going to confuse the names between black and blue and call blue, the quite blue.

I'm really surprised anyone would consider any android phone over the pixel unless cost is the issue. After using it for a couple days and then using my 6p or s7, I notice a huge difference in performance, all round snappiness, ease of use, battery life. If you would pick anything else, it's because you either have not used any other android phone long enough or haven't used the pixel long enough. Even just holding it your hand feels nice. The design is great. When using the phone, I even love the bottom bezel that I thought I wouldn't like as it gives me something to hold without hitting any buttons or anything when holding the phone sideways. Wireless charging is stupid until it becomes cheap enough to have wireless chargers integrated into tabletops, desks etc. And the price that google picked is the perfect price to show they mean business and are ready to compete with samsung and apple. When designing portable electronics, I would think you want to balance the features, power, power consumption and usability. I really believe Google picked just the right elements to focus on to create the right balance. When you try to pack too many things in all at once, you get what I like to call the samsung effect, which gives you a great phone on paper but leaves you feeling cheaped out on when you get to really using the thing.
I kinda like the bottom bezel. Makes it easier to type, since it makes the keyboard a bit higher up than it would be without the bezel, making it so that your thumbs actually rest over top of the center of the keyboard.

I just really prefer the iPhone as a daily driver. the imessage, the integration with my MacBook and iPad. not having to worry about picture and video quality getting butchered via text. when I'm home though I tend to use my Galaxy for browsing, videos and other stuff. I feel the Pixel is a huge step in the right direction for android. if they can nail down a proper messaging app and a reason to want to be in their ecosystem exclusively I think it'll start to spell trouble for Apple who is advancing at an insanely slow rate. I love my 7 plus but to say it's a huge upgrade from the 6s is a joke.

Instead of a launcher, I can actually just root it and install AOSP or CyanogenMod, to get the clean interface I'm looking for, but the point is that Pixel comes out of the box how I want it. I don't need to root it (voiding warranty) or install more software to make it look and feel how I want, which is the entire point of buying a Nexus/Pixel device. I've been using an HTC One M8 for the last 2.5 years and I'm pretty much in love with their Sense UI, so much so I might even buy the HTC M10, or just postpone upgrading my phone until HTC come up with another brilliant phone. In the end, it's all about personal preference I guess.
+LreviewsT Agreed. It would be a very minimal, and mostly unnoticeable (if at all) dip, especially on a beast like the 1+3. The Nova Launcher is also pretty smooth in terms of performance. But when I was talking about OS, I didn't mean only the launcher. When the 1+X released there was a big issue with how it read SD cards and people couldn't access it for quite a while before they came up with updates. A recent update broke the Play Store on a lot of Indian devices. Nova Launcher can't solve all those problems, right? Other than the OS and their not so great customer service (at least in India), there is literally nothing to complain about the 1+3, though. The specs are amazing and the cost is definitely a huge plus point. There is very little to differentiate between the S7, M10, V20, 1+3 and Pixel at this point, except their individual quirks. V20 has that 2nd display, the S7 has that camera, the M10 has the Sense, 1+3 has those specs at that amazing cost, and the Pixel has the Google Assistant/Clean OS. As I said, it all comes down to personal preference after all the arguments.

OIS wouldn't make this any better. The camera is very software based and you wouldn't see that much of an improvement with OIS for pictures and especially for videos. Their EIS is killer.

I just bought an XL and have to say the phone is AWESOME! The camera is so good, the screen has you wanting to watch movies and it is fantastically fast! I was using a 5x and it does not compare!

if it cost 500 ish than yes, it worth it. I have a nexus 6p, and I think it better than the pixel, other then the spec. Why, How? 1) dual speaker 2) bigger (my opinion) 3) looks better 4) pricy af. 5) $700 no water proof or resistance 6) no gesture or new feature like wave to wake stuff like that. 7) pixel launcher doesn't look great. 8) google assistance is still not ready 9) some material design choice is gone for example ( google search on your home screen)

Id go with the Iphone 7, I've been with phone for about 2-3 months. I have a 6+ and I love it. Its sleek and smooth. However The pixel seemed slower in the UI area, and the camera isnt as good.
Depends what u using the phone for as a main use, for gaming, iPhone 7, but with the pixel phone, u can do split screen so u can watch TH-cam n be on Facebook or read ur message at the same time without having to come out of it. Google assistant is also really good as it uses google search itself. The camera is good enough as it has excellent dynamic range n gives u truer colours.

About the pricing, it is a matter of a brand. With a brand like Google, they can't put an average price because you're simply paying for the brand not only for the hardware. Plus you have a device that has got it's hardware and software plus the support provided by a giant like Google. I'm an Apple guy 100%. I write iOS apps and totally obsessed by Apple in all ways. However, this is the first and I think the only Android phone that I liked and wouldn't mind to have as a personal phone beside my iPhone 7 Google are making it to the market this year. And they are coming forward for a real competition. Thumps up for these amazing people :)

My thing with those bumper cases is that often when you drop it onto gravel or something, it will still break, the bumper really only works on smooth surfaces such as wood, concrete, etc, but the second you drop on a not smooth surface or a surface with some debris, the protection of the case goes right out the window

I just really prefer the iPhone as a daily driver. the imessage, the integration with my MacBook and iPad. not having to worry about picture and video quality getting butchered via text. when I'm home though I tend to use my Galaxy for browsing, videos and other stuff. I feel the Pixel is a huge step in the right direction for android. if they can nail down a proper messaging app and a reason to want to be in their ecosystem exclusively I think it'll start to spell trouble for Apple who is advancing at an insanely slow rate. I love my 7 plus but to say it's a huge upgrade from the 6s is a joke.

Instead of a launcher, I can actually just root it and install AOSP or CyanogenMod, to get the clean interface I'm looking for, but the point is that Pixel comes out of the box how I want it. I don't need to root it (voiding warranty) or install more software to make it look and feel how I want, which is the entire point of buying a Nexus/Pixel device.
I've been using an HTC One M8 for the last 2.5 years and I'm pretty much in love with their Sense UI, so much so I might even buy the HTC M10, or just postpone upgrading my phone until HTC come up with another brilliant phone. In the end, it's all about personal preference I guess.

But when I was talking about OS, I didn't mean only the launcher. When the 1+X released there was a big issue with how it read SD cards and people couldn't access it for quite a while before they came up with updates. A recent update broke the Play Store on a lot of Indian devices. Nova Launcher can't solve all those problems, right?
Other than the OS and their not so great customer service (at least in India), there is literally nothing to complain about the 1+3, though. The specs are amazing and the cost is definitely a huge plus point. There is very little to differentiate between the S7, M10, V20, 1+3 and Pixel at this point, except their individual quirks. V20 has that 2nd display, the S7 has that camera, the M10 has the Sense, 1+3 has those specs at that amazing cost, and the Pixel has the Google Assistant/Clean OS. As I said, it all comes down to personal preference after all the arguments.

OIS wouldn't make this any better. The camera is very software based and you wouldn't see that much of an improvement with OIS for pictures and especially for videos. Their EIS is killer.

I just bought an XL and have to say the phone is AWESOME! The camera is so good, the screen has you wanting to watch movies and it is fantastically fast! I was using a 5x and it does not compare!

Id go with the Iphone 7, I've been with phone for about 2-3 months. I have a 6+ and I love it. Its sleek and smooth. However The pixel seemed slower in the UI area, and the camera isnt as good.
Depends what u using the phone for as a main use, for gaming, iPhone 7, but with the pixel phone, u can do split screen so u can watch TH-cam n be on Facebook or read ur message at the same time without having to come out of it. Google assistant is also really good as it uses google search itself. The camera is good enough as it has excellent dynamic range n gives u truer colours.

I am actually let down that "the best Android phone", which it probably is, is basically an iPhone 6S rip off. Google is able to make great looking hardware. Look at the other Pixel devices. My thing with those bumper cases is that often when you drop it onto gravel or something, it will still break, the bumper really only works on smooth surfaces such as wood, concrete, etc, but the second you drop on a not smooth surface or a surface with some debris, the protection of the case goes right out the window
