  • Hey, guys!
    In this video I'll be talking to you about the process of becoming a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines, as well as some tips and tricks I learned along the way.
    Update: I've received questions about whether you can still be hired if not asked to hang back after the F2F interview. 100% you can! Most people I met on the line didn't receive job offers on the spot. Please keep that in mind :)
    Thanks for watching and feel free to subscribe if you enjoy my content :)

      Hey there, Lauren! Congratulations on the F2F interview! So happy it helped you :)
      I would say be a heightened version of yourself.
      If you're not usually outgoing, you don't need to be the leader of the group.
      Make casual conversation with the person next to you and then, if you make eye contact with someone who's on their own, ask them a question and engage that way.
      Bubbly is always good, the biggest thing is to keep smiling and maintain a positive mindset!
      (Also, keep in mind that if they don't call your name at the end of the interview, that doesn't mean you won't get hired.)
      Wishing you the very best for your interview! I'm sure you're going to do great :)

    Thank you for the insight to the process! I have my face to face in a few weeks. Unfortunately, Delta is no longer paying for the hotels and related expenses if we choose to fly down the night before our interview. However, I'm glad to know that we won't have to keep our luggage at the hotels during the interview process. (Of course, I will send a follow up email to Delta to confirm that this is still the case.)

      Any time, so glad you liked it! :) it can be tricky at first, but once you get into the swing of things, it's about 3 days on then 3-4 days off.
      You can move around your schedule and swap trips with other flight attendants to make your schedule work for you, but there's no guarantee you'll get the trips you want :)

    Hi Cassandra! I’m planning to apply with DL as a f/a when they open in the fall of 2021.My question is:I worked for a major airline as a f/a for 30 yrs,will that be a positive or negative as far as being considered? Thanks….Jorge

    • @CassandraRi
      @CassandraRi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      hey there, Jorge! That's fantastic to hear! It's great on the resume since it shows you have experience in the profession and know what to expect on the line.
      The biggest thing that gets FA's from other airlines is comparing their old company their new one.
      So long as you're willing to be malleable and restructure yourself according to Delta's standards, policies, etc. you'll be just fine!

  • @brittanywhitaker5781
    @brittanywhitaker5781 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hello! Thanks for all of this great information. I do have a question. I always hear with being a flight attendant, it can be hard since being away from family is going to be often. At the same time you always hear “you’re always going to be off 3-4 days in a row even- sometimes even a week at a time! You’ll always be there to spend time and raise your family” can you clarify, if you don’t mind?
    Thank you

    • @CassandraRi
      @CassandraRi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, Brittany! Of course - so when abiding by an airline's schedule, you'll normally be off 3-4 days, etc. as you mentioned. You'll also have trips that last up to 3 days (2-3 is usually the norm).
      So it's kind of a balancing act.
      You work 2-3 days, traveling around, then you come home.
      The great thing about a career in aviation is, once you leave the airport, you have no work to do at home.
      You have a few days off to spend with family (it can be during the weekday while most people are at work) and then you head back to work after those days are up!
      It's definitely doable to have this career and a family so long as there's support while you're away on trips :)
      I hope this helps!

    • @CassandraRi
      @CassandraRi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! Of course speaking English/being able to work in U.S. without being sponsored is a given - after that, they look for someone who has graduated high school (having a college degree is preferred), has over 1 year experience in customer service, and has asserted a role ensuring the safety/care of others in the past. This could be working as a security guard, doing your first aid training course, even caring for a loved one. The more diverse your resume is, the more you’ll stand out :) hope this helps!

When you went through training, were there any middle-age trainees or is everyone in there 30s and younger? Or did you hear of any from previous classes? I'm surprised that nobody ever brings up the age questions. I know it can't be discriminated against. But more out of curiosity. I'm not going to say how old I am but I still feel I can meet the qualifications.
