Glad to hear 👍 All done in Davinci. I exported from MLV App as H.265 12 Bit untouched, then graded in Resolve. Exported and finalised in FCPX. File sizes varied from 8-25MB lol..
Thanks for the tips. I've been following your videos in an attempt to learn exporting from MLV. In the past you've exported Apple Pro Res, sometimes DNG, and this time H.265. How do you determine your MLV export workflow? Is there an advantage with H.265 over DNG? Also, remind me which color profile you prefer shooting with on your EOS M...cinestyle, neutral?
Davinci is the quickest export. So for long clips or a multitude of recorded clips, I like to export as DNG for the quickness of it as well as the beauty of Grading in Davinci which I just like. Prores Export from MLV App allows more flexibility in post if more work is needed or if you just want to export from MLV App as Alexa LOG, S LOG etc.. and prefer to do grading in post e.g. premiere or final cut. H.265 is new in this latest MLV App, so i wanted to test how it performs. The bell ringers where spectacular at Fed Square but I only got to see them at night. The day performance on your video looks great. I'm guessing from where you're standing you'd be zoomed in to 35mm?
@@mannietravels Not really, I like shooting wide with the canon eos m in general as the crop modes can get quite shaky. I also used a speedbooster which worked great. Highly recommend this combo ;)

Hey Zeek, how long is the record time of the Canon M with Magic Lantern? Are there any limitations? I tried ML on my Canon 6D - more than 15 seconds of continuous recording were impossible (aprox. 1080p/24fps). Cheers!
Continuous in 1080, 2K and 5K FRTP Mode. Continuous in 2.5K Raw Mode @2.35:1/2.39:1. 2.5K 16:9 and 2.8K 2.35:1 are only up to 15 Seconds or about continuous if underexposed by a stop or more.
Hi there, great video BTW, as usual. I use a canon 7D with ML but I can't figure out how to shoot 10bit or 12bit, it only let's me shoot 14bit, which is massive. I can't find the settings, any advice? Thanks
Not all the ML version allows the same settings, it might be possible that the 7D version miss that feature but I can't tell you for sure, you need to check other videos/tutorials to check if this is an option for u.
I have this set up but i have one question. I have a speedbooster and a standard eosm to ef adapter. Since the sigma is designed to be used on a crop senor camera whats the point in putting on the speedbooster verus using a standard adapter? Thanks
On my mlv app workflow tutorial vid with the laptop thumbnail, there are mlv files. But the videos produced now will look better, especially with 2.5K/2.8K RAW.
I use it in crop modes e.g. 2.5/2.8K, no vignette from 18-35mm even with a speedbooster. If using full sensor 1.6x it will aslo be fine, but with a speedbooster in 1080 mode, you will need to zoom up to 24/26mm for vignette to dissapear or become minimal.
@@dckites Anything can be continuous, depends on the settings, some sacrifices will need to be made, e.g. in 2.8K maybe reducing resolution to 2.6K. 2.5K 2.35:1 is continuous.
Do you have an issues with vignetting with this lens and the speedbooster on that size of sensor? I'm considering picking up the 18-35 and a speedbooster for my m6 mii, but have heard that such a setup might cause vignetting at the lower end of the zoom.
Great footage, but I'd say that it definitely looks like film footage from the 60s and 70s. Wouldn't you agree that it doesn't look like what even cheap cinema cams made today produce? It's definitely vintage.
🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀 - Hi again Zeek! - Lens 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art has no stabilization. - How do you achieve such image stabilization and smooth movement in your videos? 🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀
I use C mount lenses, like 8mm, 12.5mm or kit lenses like 15-45 IS etc. Crop isn't a big deal with these wide lenses, just calls for a different approach or style of shooting.
Ah....okay..it's not about which is better. I have a pocket 6K. It's just a great feeling using a cheap camera that can shoot amazing raw quality for the price.

2.5K 16:9 and 2.8K 2.35:1 are only up to 15 Seconds or about continuous if underexposed by a stop or more.
@@ZeekEOSZ Thanks a lot!
Awesome!
YES YES YES
Does the sigma come with those thick rings or was that somehow added?
They were added. Zeek bought those rubber focus gears on Ebay, I just found in one of his comments. 👍🏾
More behind the scenes please!
:)
All these things can’t be working with M6 ii?
I didn’t find anything like that for my M6 ii ..!
Only the M/M2 cams in the M series support it. Development slowed down or stopped for the M50.
I get pink / dropped frames a few minutes in shooting raw on the Eos M. Any tips?
What mode?
Don't shoot 30fps, use SanDisk extreme pro, enable 10 Bit
this is amazing 👍👍👍😲
Thank you :) Hope to do more in the weeks ahead.
magnificent!
😎🙌
Speedbooster for a lens that covers the same size sensor (just different mount) how is the vignette?
I have this set up but i have one question. I have a speedbooster and a standard eosm to ef adapter. Since the sigma is designed to be used on a crop senor camera whats the point in putting on the speedbooster verus using a standard adapter? Thanks
Hi man! How do you stabilize your footages?
Hey, the rig here helps remove that cheap jitter from small cams. I also used post Stabilisation in FCPX.
@@ZeekEOSZ thank you. May I ask you to share some footage to play with? I'm still thinking of buying this camera but have doubts.
On my mlv app workflow tutorial vid with the laptop thumbnail, there are mlv files. But the videos produced now will look better, especially with 2.5K/2.8K RAW.
@@ZeekEOSZ thank you! But can you share some new ones? I'll be very thankful even for a one new better footage😌
18-35 is the best. I haven't taken it off in 1.5 years.
Haha, yeah, you can become quite complacent with this one!! 😆
I know what you mean, I feel the same way about these underpants. Wait, what?
@@raksh9 😆😆😆
I got one for $200, is that a good price?
Yes! 🎥👌🔥
Hello.
Does this sigma 18-35mm on the Eos m having vignette problem ? As it’s happening on m50ii
Can i install magic lantern in my canon eos m3 ???????
Unfortunately not. Only M or M2. M is better 🔥
Hello Zeek, by using the Sigma 18-35, you can only use it at 35mm ? if you go lower, it would show vignetting at the corners? Thanks!
@@ZeekEOSZ Thank you for the reply. I will start testing in crop mode but with Crop modes, the recording time is short right, not continuos right?
@@dckites
Anything can be continuous, depends on the settings, some sacrifices will need to be made, e.g. in 2.8K maybe reducing resolution to 2.6K. 2.5K 2.35:1 is continuous.
Thank you! Will give it a try.
Just think if this thing had some kind of slow mo!
I can do max 30fps 2K RAW, but would be cool with high resolution @50fps. Would be beast!
Do you have an issues with vignetting with this lens and the speedbooster on that size of sensor? I'm considering picking up the 18-35 and a speedbooster for my m6 mii, but have heard that such a setup might cause vignetting at the lower end of the zoom.
Vignette will happen wider than 28mm + speedbooster. 28mm and up will work fine. Otherwise, I use crop mode on the Eos m with magic lantern.
WE CAN GET THE SAME RESUT WITH EOS M50 ,?
The M50 won't be as detailed, I've owned it, but I still do prefer the EOS M.
Wow ❤️🥰❤️
Great footage, but I'd say that it definitely looks like film footage from the 60s and 70s. Wouldn't you agree that it doesn't look like what even cheap cinema cams made today produce? It's definitely vintage.
It's vintage yes I agree 👍

- Hi again Zeek!
- Lens 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art has no stabilization.
- How do you achieve such image stabilization and smooth movement in your videos?
🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀 🏀
Stabilise in post (FCPX). Also neck straps can help.
@@ZeekEOSZ - thanks a million =)
What's the crop factor on this setting?
2.96x
So close to Super 16
@@ZeekEOSZ so that means if you were at 18mm on the lens, the sensor is capturing it as 37mm?
@@MalayKim yep, that field of view.
That crop on canon is so annoyng, dont alows wide capture on an already crop sensor
I use C mount lenses, like 8mm, 12.5mm or kit lenses like 15-45 IS etc. Crop isn't a big deal with these wide lenses, just calls for a different approach or style of shooting.
Sir can we discuss
Any idea of the beat name at 3:24? would really appreciate it
I can't remember the title unfortunately
@@ZeekEOSZ Shazam did it for me eventually: High Cruisin by Lana en Pure . Really useful content you'd shared Zeek! Thanky!

Blackmagic pocket cinema camera / 4k much better anyway
Ah....okay..it's not about which is better. I have a pocket 6K. It's just a great feeling using a cheap camera that can shoot amazing raw quality for the price.
@@ZeekEOSZ be interesting other cameras test. Not only eos m

I've recently done a pocket 6K Video.
