It’s coming soon! I would have loved for her to get one because Punisher was other-worldly but the categories she was in were tough b/c 1)she up against fan favorites for Best New Artist 2) she was going against legends who had long established themselves (i.e Fiona Apple) in the Alternative category. But as long as Phoebe continues her masterful writing and beautiful sounds, she will have one soon!

Also here’s my view point, the reason Doja probably didn’t receive an award is because she’s signed under Kemosabe Records and after the entire Kesha legal battle with Dr. Luke and the Grammys kinda supporting her when they asked her to perform Praying at the 2018 Grammys; then to give Doja an award for Say So which is produced and written with Dr Luke would completely undermine the entire point of standing up for Kesha and other victims. It would attract unnecessary hate towards Doja and I’m just hoping she gets out of that contract soon
i dont think the grammys really need a reason to not give a deserved award for a black woman but on this particular case i agree. she seemed like a grammy type of person. i feel like the discovery that dr luke was her producer really black listed her for now. i also don't think the academy cares enough about social issues (tbh, out of all of the big award shows, they are the most inrresponsable ones. like they're not even trying) but it would be inconsistent to show support for kesha and let that man get even more prizes. the nomination is enough. it's unfortunate cause she is really talented but that will teach him a lesson. maybe next time she will no longer work with him and get her accolades. really rooting for her.

a few years ago, a song won record of the year and it was produced by Dr. Luke. the grammys HAD to pretend to support Ke$ha because the entire planet was rooting for her but in reality......i really don't think they care about them and Dr. Luke is free...like...he didn't pay for what he did.

I mean I'm glad they got a nomination, it was cool, but the fact that it was their only ENGLISH song that got nominated and not any of the other 20 songs they released that got a lot of hype as well. it just shows that the grammys were waiting for an English song. and I think bts were testing them. the original creator of the song explained that the lyrics were just phrases from American slang he piled together.

I mean compared to other years this one wasn’t bad actually. The only two snubs I can think of immediately are Doja and BTS. Don’t get me wrong, I live for Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande in Rain On Me, but denying the power BTS and their fanbase has is just pointless

@Kerry Foerster No they weren't "lucky", they were used. It's painful for us fans to admit it but it's the truth. They used them for views (which didn't worked well for their rating anyways) and I can tell the nomination wasn't even genuine. They didn't even get an intro like the other performers, like WTF was that? AND they cut 17 secs of the time the original song last. AND they had the audacity to flex the 12M viewers they had on the pre-ceremony when we all know that 90% of it was BTS's fandom.
"Stop pretending not to be Korean and submit better music than Dynamite"? They literally submitted their album Map Of The Soul: 7 (WHICH IS IN KOREAN and topped the charts of IFPI: Global Album All Format Chart AND Global Album Sales Chart) for AOTY, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Pop Vocal Album, but STILL got nominated for their ENGLISH song, what does that tell you? Anglo-centrism sounds perfect to me and xenophobia, too.
And yeah, believe me, ALL OF US FANS agree that Dynamite is definitely not their best song, they have such masterpieces that deserve more and I'm more than sure that they'll release more amazing music IN KOREAN, but I don't really have faith in this industry, because until now they've shown us how they play.
Of course they'll be fine, they have us and things have always worked for their good even if they seem not to for a moment.
