I really liked your recommendation to prepare three main points on a topic. The key here for me was “preparation”. I’ll try to block out a few minutes before a meeting to always have at least three points to proactively interject, or respond to if called on. Great tip!
The third point would move the needle for me. My colleagues love to talk. I am sure commenters here can relate. Sometimes they repeat themselves rephrasing their points. I have struggles interjecting at times. I could talk over people but that seems rude. Thanks for speaking about this particular topic.
Love your positivity! Thank you for this. I'm on a new job that is my first ever consulting role that requires me to schedule and lead Zoom meetings training clients on software migrations which is WAY outside my comfort zone. Videos like yours are very helpful!
I understand you were COO at Morgan Stanley Europe. How did you display authority when speaking to diversified audiences with variant English language capabilities?
Awesome content! I’m definitely guilty of over setting the expectations of a meeting which puts unnecessary pressure on myself. Will definitely utilize your techniques!
If I know what I am going to say then I can prepare and practise. But when something unexpected occurs, (every time) then the words don't flow and I feel foolish. Hence its better to remain silent on the topic.
- you are in danger to be fired if you speak up something stupid - meetings is not the place to learn but bring your experience into a team Am I right? Anyway, nice video
I don't think the risk of being fired because of sharing an idea is big. However, the risk of not being seen as leadership material or the risk of being removed from a meeting because you don't contribute enough is worse. I like your second point!

Wow, I really appreciate you sharing your valuable insight. I'm glad you found it helpful!
Preparation and speaking early in the meeting are key - especially for introverts. Great tips!
The most powerful strategy for me was to speak at the start of meetings because of the "what if's" as well!
I agree that speaking at the beginning of a meeting stops those creeping doubts...great advice!

This was actually way more helpful than I thought it would be. Sitting on my watch list for a few weeks. Glad I listened to it.
Thanks so much for watching! It makes me so happy you feel that way.
The rule of 3 / power words / speak early…Posture. In the beginning, get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Probably less about saying something stupid, more if you say something inappropriate or offensive.
you remind of Andrew yang
