    My buddy had a mark 8 when we were younger and it surprised A LOT of people. Theyd think they were rolling up on some geriatric, and then get gapped. Your car is insane. Awesome to see .

    I'm diggin this car dude!! I can't believe it took me a year to find this!! I need to bring my Mark's to leave my 14 second marks at Rock Falls! I spent half my childhood on 94 to that track! I actually bought my Collector's in Eau Claire!!

    • @MrHotrodlincoln
      @MrHotrodlincoln  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Waldner Wow. Small world huh?! Thanks for the kudos. I'm going for 10s this year on stock engine! If that happens....a record will be set in the Mark8 community. I have a lot of people watching and waiting for my car to run this fall. 😁

    • @michaelwaldner9661
      @michaelwaldner9661 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahahah definitely a small world with huge ambition!! I do my own tuning on my ecu... and that pass I just heard on the low psi would make most Email SCT tuners shit themselves!!.. btw are you 4.30's or 4.56 gears?!

    • @MrHotrodlincoln
      @MrHotrodlincoln  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael Waldner 4.10s on 28" tires so it actually turns out to be like a 3.92 gear. My only complaint is the crappy street converter I bought does not hold lockup so we commanded it wide open. If it locked up in 3rd I would be a couple tenths quicker even and probably a couple more mph. I havent decided if I am going to send it in for an upgrade to get lockup or leave it as is. With the smaller pulley I have that will give me 3 more psi and the timing bump on corn....I would not be surprised at all to see another 50-70hp. It will hit the dyno soon for these tweaks. Stay tuned.

    • @michaelwaldner9661
      @michaelwaldner9661 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice!! I definitely need a set of 28 10.5 stickey thompsons cause my base will be turning 4.30's soon! It'll be teaming up with a 3800-4200 stall speed converter from Road Runner... cheapest one I could find... don't judge!! But I know what you mean about that weird lag going into 3rd, it almost sounds like its bogging down from being too rich!! Are you running the stock 24lb/hr injectors??

    • @MrHotrodlincoln
      @MrHotrodlincoln  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Waldner My car doesn't bog in 3rd or run rich. It just spins out on the tach and loses momentum on the backhalf due to no lockup. My injectors are certainly not stock. They can't be. I run 80#ers

      joe27077 First, major parts being out of production. Stuff like the air system control is junk yard part. Same goes for the rear neon light. You will also wish to change headlights to xenon or halogens. Performance wise, the limits are your wallet. Some do 5 speed swaps. Also this motor uses coils on each plug.

    I've been wanting to build a sleeper for a very long time now just haven't done it yet and I was considering the options and almost completely forgot about the Lincoln Mark 8 and I was leaning towards an old supercharged Riviera from Buick until I remembered about the Mark 8. I have owned for Lincoln Town Cars and every single one of them I loved more than the last. I am 36 years old and I have bad back problems and really bad knee problems and buying a Mustang GT would be fun but it wouldn't be fun for me to drive because it would beat the crap out of me every time I drove it. So I'm wanting something with some luxury that I can drive for 500 miles at a time and not feel it when I get to my destination and in my opinion Lincoln's have always been the most luxurious car made. I have a couple of friends who love Cadillacs and they're all about a Cadillac I converted one of them to a Lincoln man after I took him for a very short 60-mile journey in my last 94 Town Car we didn't even make it onto the Interstate before he passed out in my backseat because he was so comfortable he finally woke up when we had reached our destination and he was shocked that we had already made it because he had no clue simply because he's been asleep in the back seat the entire time. I've always loved to Lincoln. I had a 1984 Town Car Signature Series right out of high school when I went to college. My dad actually gave me the car because I was going to college 450 miles away from home and he wanted to make sure that I had a good reliable car because the car had at the time I was constantly having to work on it everyday to keep it running so he surprised me by handing me the keys and the title to his Town Car and I can remember driving around in that car and feeling like a million bucks. I loved driving that town car. It was so comfortable so when I came across another one a few years later I jumped at the chance to get it and then some years later I came across another one and I jumped at the chance to get it. Typically I love dodges I love the Hemi Rams and the Hemi Challengers and Hemi Chargers but I've also always been the type of guy that enjoys the underdog or the less conspicuous and less common vehicle. I don't like driving a car and feeling like I'm one of a million cars just like it on the road. Anybody can go get a Dodge Charger from a used car lot with $500 down and drive off on it and you'll be one of about 500000 of them on the road but it's not everyday you see something like a Lincoln Mark 8 coming down the road because they've kind of been forgotten about over the years. That's why I like them I've been wanting to build a sleeper for a very long time now just haven't done it yet and I was considering the options and almost completely forgot about the Lincoln Margate and I was leaning towards and hold supercharged Riviera from Buick until I remembered about the market. That's why I like them. the only problem with buying a Mark 8 at least in my area is that because the Summers could so hot here in Texas that people tend to overheat the 4.6 V8 that's under the hood of the Mark 8 and they crack ahead or they blow a head gasket. so the ones that you find for sale around my area all usually have cracked heads or blown head gaskets. And I don't want to buy a car and immediately have to take the heads off and put a set of head gaskets on or even worse instead of heads. if I'm buying a car like the Lincoln Mark 8 I want to be able to drive it home when I buy it. I don't want to have to load it on a trailer. the other problem you run into is the other 1% of the Mark 8 Lincoln's that you find for sale on Craigslist in my area have been one owner cars that have belonged to an elderly couple since the day they were new and the elderly couple tends to think that the Lincoln is worth 15 times it's actual market value simply because they've kept it in a garage most of it's life and it has eighty thousand miles on it. They think that just because it's clean like a new car and it has low mileage that it should be worth what a new Lincoln goes for or what they paid for it the day that it was new. They don't take into account that it's a 20 year old car and that it has depreciated in value. They have unrealistic expectations of what they think the car should be worth. And it's virtually impossible to negotiate with people that have such a high price sit on their car because when you offer them the market value they tend to get insulted and think that you're trying to lowball them even though you can show them what the Blue Book price of that car should be. so my search for a reliable clean Mark 8 may take a while. Lol sorry for the rambling. But the video of this one is amazing I love how fast it ran the quarter-mile I want mine to be quick but not that quick I'm not ready to sink $30,000 into the motor of that car just so I can run an 11 and a half second quarter mile on a drag strip. I'll probably never get mine on a drag strip. I just want to see the look of shock and all on someone's face as I blow past them on the interstate. Like for instance a little punk driving a Camaro and he thinks his V6 Camaro is the fastest car on the road so he wants to race every single person he comes across and all I have to do is put my foot down just a little bit and I blow the plastic doors off of that Camaro. and the next red light I pull up to next to him I get to roll my window down and ask him how it feels to be beaten by 20 year old car that weighs double what his Camaro weighs

For a Gen1 you need to make custom pipe from the blower to throttle body and figure out your draw thru setup for the mass air flow sensor. His pass in this video was just an 1/8 mile test pass and then he let out at half track. He was just feeling the car out. He ran a 10.8 here, but after this pass he was running 10.0s and 10.1s the rest of the day.
