Must be a Ford thing Cleveland's used to be bad for that back in the day with hv oil pumps. I got caught out with my mid ninties build. Run both mains and big ends. After pulling it apart re machining crank and reassembly i put in oil restrictor kit, modded stock pan to 8 litre capacity and the falcon 351c was back in business. What happened engine was dry started with no oil in the system. Dry oil pump, pickup, filter, chain tencheners, lifter/followers, & oil galleries. You have to use a pressurized oil can to prime oil system on these engines. By time oil pump picks up oil distributes oil through engine & pushes all air out of these small parts & galleries the bearings has done ran dry for no telling how long then ran on airated oil foaming causing metal on bearing wear.

If you're not going to degree the cams you should at least check piston to valve clearance since you have bigger cams. Big mod motor guy here. Excited to watch the build.
As an automotive machinist I think you should find another automotive machinist... What really probably happened is it was dry run at initial startup, smoked the rod bearings causing the crank to get hot enough to bend which took out the center mains and then completely blocked oil flow to the rod journals. I don't think you could find many other machinists that thought that was caused by harmonics .
I had a 93 mark viii some years back, bone stock....but the transmission was perfectly fd up, would hold first gear to about 58 mph, then break loose like a monster when it hit 2nd gear at that speed. Keep-up the great VLOGs and projects !!
If you want to keep mice out get 100% Peppermint oil & some small glass dishes from the dollar store & a bag of cotton balls. Put 4 or 5 cotton balls in the glass dish add the pepper mint oil until the cotton balls are slightly covered & place 1 or 2 of the dishes under the hood & put a few in the interior & trunk to keep them out for good. I have this setup in my camper & in my 72 GTO that is sitting outside. Do not buy those bags of mint leaves they don't work & don't use plastic dishes the mint oil eats red plastic cups.
Big ford guy here. Not a big mod motor guy though. Fun fact, Coyote motors have the same bell housing pattern as the 4.6’s. I would have much rather risked it with a junkyard coyote from a F-150. But that’s just my opinion.
Maaaan, growing up reading car mags in the 90s and 00s being a car guy from Canada, it was always a dream sequence, rust free anything yeah right. You PA boys are straight up legit and down and dirty proper rust belt broskis. The work ethic and can do attitude of this channel is palpable, much love and respect!
My only experience with an aftermarket race crank I bought from a local performance shop for a sbc years ago with the matching bearings. Bearings ended up being completely wrong but I didn’t check clearances because I was new to engine building and assumed they knew more than I did . So I slapped it all together and boom , Next to no oil pressure . Took it out and had another shop mic it before and told me the bearing sizes I had were incorrect. They then machined it and gave me a new set of bearings which had all kinds of oil pressure after that .
Loving the content lately! What’s even better is that it’s local! Haha. Knew exactly where you were when you were driving. Hope to catch a glimpse one of these builds on the street soon!
As a young college guy, I worked in an oil change place…we would pick up and drop off cars for a few select rich folks….i fell in love with these cars…big fast coupes rule. Love the channel, TA and crew.

You guys are snipers. love it. the straight through exhaust might be a giveaway though when youre prowling corvettes hahaha. cant wait to see it hauling
DO NOT do the bread trick on a gen 3/4 ls motor! There is an oil plug in the back of the crank you will push inside the motor along with a bunch of bread. Great video Tony!
I bet that's why you only had 7psi oil. The oil pump was dry cause it sat so long. It never primed. So glad you guys stayed at it . Watched from beginning, nothing but great tv. And I don't feel so bad cause it's freezing out for you guys. I'm in upstate NY. Damn cold watching guys building cars in Utah, or Cali. Great work gentleman. Love the show
I've been around Mod motors for a few decades. Mostly 2 and 3 valve, but thought the 4 valve was supposed to be the toughest. Always heard oil pressure sending units were one of the common probs. I'd probably question if 7 psi was not accurate too LOL for that reason. Fingers crossed this one was a solid build and not some jackleg job. 😜
@bgee461 marauder and auto machs got cast 6 bolt cranks all manual machs and cobras 96 up had forged cranks 03 cobra had forged rods and pistons too that is all that is needed on 93-01 4v and 03-04 Mach motors to make big power strength wise. They can make 700+ wheel with stock heads and cams with the right combo. They're low key slept on for bigger power builds and that power level in an older much lighter mustang is pretty solid even in today's standards.
Absolutely love that your working on a lincoln, more commonly available and its not another cobra build. pure art shred some tires for me. Love your work guys please be safe

You guys could always add some water-Mathanol injection to SAVE from dreaded detonation that has obviously been going on with many of the power added builds. Cheap and easy insurance!
Keep-up the great VLOGs and projects !!
He'd probably end up getting the worst possible combo like a gen 1 truck engine with a quick 6.
Another awesome video! Gotta love it when i can watch Stay Tuned and Pole Barn Garage back to back!
Yes Tony I'm watching from the carribean... I have a view of the ocean while you kick ass on this build.
Wow, go Grandpa
Grandpa is not playing.
Nice work on getting it back together, Tony! Hope this one holds together! Scott
5.4 4V from a navigator next level!
Talk about perseverance! You guys put yourself through so much when it comes to these builds. Inspiring for sure.
Clutching your pearls 22:50 talking about wap block 😂😂😂🤣
Big ford guy here. Not a big mod motor guy though. Fun fact, Coyote motors have the same bell housing pattern as the 4.6’s. I would have much rather risked it with a junkyard coyote from a F-150. But that’s just my opinion.
We talked about it but would have to redo all the exhaust fab etc, that would be the next go around if needed.
One of my favorite car channels for awhile now. The episodes are only getting better and the builds are all so sick!
Loving the content lately! What’s even better is that it’s local! Haha. Knew exactly where you were when you were driving. Hope to catch a glimpse one of these builds on the street soon!
So happy you guys are working on the Lincoln again, can't wait to see this thing rip!
Yessir! Right back at it tomorrow! Thanks for watching!
@StayTunedTA hell yeah! Keep up the good work boys 👌
"It's BACK! They're working on it again!" -me, regardless of what car Stay Tuned works on because they're all awesome
Ha, I really appreciate that!
can not find enough 4v/intech build videos...
edit: I own a 4vContinental and did not expect to watch the entire video. 10/10
As a young college guy, I worked in an oil change place…we would pick up and drop off cars for a few select rich folks….i fell in love with these cars…big fast coupes rule. Love the channel, TA and crew.
That's rad. I was a valet for a short while and these things did JAM.
Whew!! All of this new technology hurts my brain! It ain't like working on a small block Ford from back in the day! Can't wait to see what it does!👍
Damn I'm happy you brought this project back. Felt bad about how things turned out before. Can't wait for the next installment
Friday , sleeper Lincoln and Pizza !!!! You’re too good to us T/A, I can’t wait to see and hear that motor come to life. Remember don’t eat yellow snow !!! . Cheers 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it!
Heck of a rebuild! Hope you can enjoy the snow!
Haven’t seen a Mach Viii in years. It’s gonna rock with a turbo. 🤘
I'm stoked to see the Lincoln back for more beats!
Front street 😂😂😂
Thanks for bringing the Lincoln back. Kinda biased being a ford guy but this is one of my favorite builds. I really hope you have good luck this time around.
I understand the "rebuild" after you've been hurt by a project.... Proud of you guys!
You guys are snipers. love it. the straight through exhaust might be a giveaway though when youre prowling corvettes hahaha. cant wait to see it hauling
These are my favorite videos. Thank you guys for crushing it!
DO NOT do the bread trick on a gen 3/4 ls motor! There is an oil plug in the back of the crank you will push inside the motor along with a bunch of bread. Great video Tony!
Glad you are sticking with the 4v for now. I'm a mod motor guy myself
With the surplus of car content on Fridays this is by far my favorite episode I’ve watched tonight. Excited to see the Lincoln hit the streets!
Hey, thanks so much! Was a wild week with this weather.
Yep. Gotta yep to yourself or it won't go together properly. great episode.
That thing is dope! Nobody is gonna take that thing seriously, until you gap them!
I knew from the opening scene when we saw The Lex in the snow bad things happened to that motor. Great show guys looking forward to next week.
Always a good day when Stay Tuned drops a new video.
Oh ya get one at the junkyard-work excellent every time
An ozone generator will do wonders for bad smells in the interior. Also, This is a dream project for me! I love sleepers and quad cam Ford motors!
You guys are killing it. Thanks for the great content!
Every hot rodder/muscle car guy/gal needs a Larry. Another awesome episode, gents.
Love the show
The $10,000 pizza donation button is hilarious! Enjoy the pies guys. I love these videos.
Ha, I mean, if you need the option, it's there!
Late 4 valve use a normal 2v bottom end. My marauder ate a crank, and the casting was a normal gt crank.
From a mk viii owner I love these videos I’m about to buy my 3rd one soon
