I love your quilt! Fabrics are beautiful and you were so wise to not cut them up.
My 8 yr old grandson Jack, asked me to help him make a quilt for a pioneer assignment in his 3rd grade school class. He decided he wanted to “shop” my stash and chose 9 favorite fabrics which I cut into fat quarters. He then arranged them on my design wall until he was satisfied with the arrangement. He sewed each row together until he had the quilt top completed. This took a few hrs of one Saturday. I then loaded it on my long arm and the following Saturday he “drew” with the needle squiggly lines, circles, triangles etc, until his quilt was completely quilted mostly by himself with a little steering from grandma. I then bound it with scrappy binding like you did. His favorite part was the quilting and there never was a more proud little boy! I wish you could see his picture of him in front of his masterpiece!
Oh, please send me a pic on my email craftyquiltingstore.com I'd love to see it what a lovely story thanks for sharing with us all.
What a beautiful way to encourage people new to quilting it’s important to know that you don’t always have to make a specific block it’s okay to relax and enjoy ❤
@@toniharrisont5200 great comment love it
Great idea! I’ve never thought of not cutting the fat quarter either. Thank you! You do such great work and you’re a joy to listen to!
You are right, cutting the fabric would have been a disrespectful. You allowed the fabric to shine. BEAUTIFUL! You also have the best background music.
Beautiful way to use that quarters that you don’t wanna cut up or even cut pieces off of you like in large patterns. Love your videos. From NC USA.
Absolutely beautiful! Fabric is GORGEOUS, and the curvy line quilting brings wonderful texture! I believe I just might try it!!!
A very creative way to use fat quarters (especially when you don't want to cut it up). Enjoyed this video!
Oh my goodness is so beautiful I totally love the wavy lines that really gives it a gorgeous look I don’t know if I want anyone sitting on it at the park but I do love it as a throw or a wall hanging, colors are awesome❣️🪡🧵✂️💓💕💗💖
Thank you so much!!
🤯 it's never occurred to me to quilt in shorter rows, I'll DEFINITELY try this method!
Same here! I usually just go from end to end but this is fantastic.
I noticed that too and thought how genius and why hadn't I thought of that. 😅
Was the fabric canvas? It looks like canvas which could be a heavier quilt. But, some like heavier. And would make a great picnic quilt as well. Love how modern and bold it is! And can't forget how quick!!
I am loving your I Iron. I have never seen one like this before. Cool quilt too. ❤ from NZ
Finally I can make a quilt! I dreaded because I get confused with cutting and placing. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help! but im sure your confidence will grow as you make and learn the basics well done for getting the confidence please do reach out if you need any help

Love the quilt and the quilting
I really like the way you quilted it, one block at a time! Can’t wait to try that! Your quilt is so cheery and vibrant! Thank you for sharing!!
@@Stitcher_in_MD best approach 1 block at a time
The freehand stitching really took it to another level! Love it and will give it a try.
I learned some thing from you today. I never thought to stand while quilting on my home sewing machine. I’m going to try that on my next quilt. I also like the wavy line quilting you chose. Also that you quilted each square individually, rather than do the whole length of the quilt. Thank you! Have a blessed day.
@@bltsews8375 you are very welcome

Fabulous and inspiring! Thank you for showing us how you free motion quilted the wavy lines. Block by block ~ I think I can do it! FMQing scares me, but you simplified it enough I will try it on a sample quilt block. Your intuition was correct not to cut up those beautiful large pieces of fabric! The final piece shows you have great vision for color and arrangement.
It turned out so beautiful. I could not have seen that coming out so pretty. I just love the look of it.. just amazing.😊
Omgoodness I absolutely L❤️VE this
👏👏👏. Thank you so much for your expertise AND willingness to encourage us🥰. And oh ya, that dong was awesome tooo! ❤️😀
I also love the scrappy binding. Your quilting and color choice is so creative. I love the waves too.
Thank you so much!
BEAUTIFUL! ❤
The fabrics are beautiful.
HAVE THEM FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS NOW
Love the fabric
This is a great pattern for those prints and it made a great wall quilt as you showed. It might work well with our Kaffe Fasset fabrics that some of us can’t bear to cut up. I’m gonna keep it in mind for the large prints that I have in my stash. Also a really fast to piece and quilt idea for charity quilts I’m thinking.
@@christinereeves353 yes I agree Kaffe Fasset fabric will be good use for the idea you are totally correct
Beautiful Karin. You are so creative. TFS

Very beautiful
It looks so good just put together. I never would have thought of quilting one block at a time. That really makes sense..and not so daunting. You have given me yet another great idea. I'm starting to pack my checked bag (of fabrics) this week to take on three month vacation. Thank you Karen for your wonderful content. I missed Jackson this time. 😘

Beautiful!! I loved watching the video!
Yes, I have beautiful African fabric I refuse to cut. I just stored it away. Maybe I will just do what you said and sew without cutting.
You can do it!
Beautiful,, but I thought you were going to make the quilt on the picture. Please make the Quilt as picture
@@yogievillegas1142 ok will do
What stitch number you use to quilt the top..ohh and what size did you trim the fat quarters to....Love your work..Smile
trim to 15 inch sq and i used free motion quilting but if you have brother 1800Q it's a preset for wavy lines
Love it!
Beautiful❤
Enjoyed your video! 🙂
With your other 2 florals, could you put plain colour piano key borders on 2 opposite sides, and make 2 pillow cases to go with the quilt? Or put one flower on each side of one pillow case? Or just make 2 square cushion covers for you couch, and throw the guilt on the back? Lovely idea you had. Have fun.
great ideas will defo use them
Stunning quilting. I have some aboriginal fabric I have been collecting for a few years to make a quilt for myself that I was thinking to leave the fat quarters whole. And also some Ankara African fabric I brought back from Ghana West Africa. But this way of quilting is very exciting. Can you please tell me what color thread you used? I was thinking its a light grey maybe? Just found your channel new subscriber.
HI thanks for subscribing I use Rasant threads it was a cream color light peach the number is x0511 I also made a few aboriginal quilts here are the links

I like the way your quilt turned out! It looked like a canvas fabric. Was it regular quilting cotton? The quilting idea is great, too! Thank you very much!
Yes it was!
It’s beautiful. It looks like there is stabilizer on the backs of the fat quarters.
Where did you get your iron and ironing pad? Thanks.
TEMU AND THE IRON ALSO
I love your fabric, a beautiful choice. Did you use starch or interfacing?
a little Stach at the start to stiffen the fabric as it was meant to be wall display but normally i don't starch for bed quilts
