If you need to scramble the colors evenly throughout the quilt, take a picture of it with your phone and look at the black and white version. It will give you an idea of the contrasting of it without the actual influence of color. I have found it very helpful. Once in a while you find a dark spot or a light spot really stand out you didn't notice before.
Hey there 👋🏾this was SUPER HELPFUL for me this morning. I’m not good at knowing what goes together or looks best. That’s why I buy precuts lol. Even so, I’m still not good at figuring out what order to assemble the blocks in. I did what you said an hour ago. It totally helps! I just evenly spaced out “black” and “white” and kept taking photos until it was even. Thank you so much!!!!
I watch all your tutorials and anxiously await the next one. You explain things so anyone can understand plus you use examples for those of us who are visual learners. Thanks, Donna and a big Hello to Matt and your staff!
I agree... and I'm your best advertising agent ever (but I'm not alone.) On the FB quilt groups, daily someone posts, "Where is it safe to order fabric online?" or "Who is reliable to order from? I'm anxious when I give out my card number to order online." or "Who has a decent selection so I can reach the minimum purchase for free shipping?" I always give you a plug and a hearty recommendation. Thanks for all you do!
I love both, and I love to watch her sew. I wouldn't mind if the videos were longer to watch Donna fly through the quilt as she makes each patch. She sews so fast and I'm sure even faster when she's not showing us. She's amazing on that machine!
I absolutely love this quilt! All your choices were just perfect. I hope one day I can make this quilt for myself, following your specific design choices. 💖
Yes she is....definitely a great teacher and I love her eye for color! I can’t wait til I get out west next summer and go to her shop, I’m bringing a Lot of moneyyyyyyy $$$$$$$$$$$$$
I did not think I would like that quilt at all, but again Donna is the Master of color and selection. Well done. The quilt is beautiful, the large dark border makes it pop. Well done.
Thank you Donna brilliant tutorial. I am an 80 year old and new to patchwork and quilting. Using my time in lockdown to learn a new craft so very much appreciate your very clear and concise video.
You are a great instructor! I’ve watched so many quilt tutorials and there is too much time spent talking and having to watch each and every piece cut and sewn. It gets boring and I loose my patience. You have the perfect teaching system, articulate, precise and efficient. Thanks for all your advice on improving skills and tips focused on accuracy. Very talented!
Thank you Donna for explaining all the steps for this quilt, which is beautiful. and how you finger press the seams for the bias edges. You are a woundfull teacher. Thanks to all your team, you've definitely made me a better quilter.
Thank you for another great tutorial. Some observations/requests: 1. It was awesome to see colourful flowery fabric instead of batik and/or grunge. 2. I would love to see a bio video of you & your husband explaining how you started in the quilting business 2a) Donna, you once said that you quilted around 2000 quilts, I’m so curious to know more about that. 3. I would love to see a video where you explain how you get the whole quilt done on your longarm...we only see the start, I would be curious to see how you get the second, third rows done until the end. Finally I learn a lot from you and wanted to say thank you. From Montréal Canada 🇨🇦
I just found Donna's videos tonight and started scrolling the comments...such an overwhelming amount of positivity and delight, nobody has a single bad thing to say and are just enjoying themselves and these wonderful videos :)
I love your videos. You are a great teacher and your colorways are always spot on. Today is 9/11 and in watching the national news I see that some of Oregon is experiencing wildfires. Please stay safe and out of harm's way. You and Matt are like family to so many of us.
Donna, love the way you present the information. You never talk down to your audience. You always show us how you do it. That, and the camera work, sets your videos apart from all the others. Thank you for making learning a new skill so much fun. Pat Walling p.s. When I tried to enter the giveaway, the computer said I was trying to subscribe and wouldn’t let me enter.
I love your videos. I've learned so much from you. Keep posting them please! Thanks Donna and Matt and everyone at Jordan fabrics. You are all awesome!
The bit of darker blue that you sprinkled in that was beautiful. This is an awesome quilt. It looks like a flower garden and I love this. Everything you make is always gorgeous and you are so calm and teach so well. Thanks for another great quilt!!
Wow such a complicated looking quilt and it’s so easy! Just one block!! I probably would have skipped over this pattern thinking it’s got to be a more difficult one. Then Donna does another incredible video and teaches us that it’s not hard at all. Thank you so much Donna!
You are awesome! Your tutorials are my favorite because they are easy to understand and follow, and the constant tips you give are time and energy saving. This quilt is beautiful with the prints you chose. Your fingernails are always beautiful, but the faceted one on the ring finger is something I have never seen. Love it and love your tutorials. Keep those tutorials coming.
I was watching my emails like mad. I pounced on this email this morning during my coffee break. It's made my rainy morning , here in Cape Town, all the more sweeter. Donna, you make amazing projects. This is my favourite colour. Thank you so much!
Another great video from Donna. She always makes each step look so easy, that even a beginner can feel confident in starting a quilt for the very first time. Thanks to the whole crew at Jordan Fabrics !!!
Thanks for showing us how to get the best possible results. While waiting for another video from you, I was binge-watching quilt tutorials from some of the big names in the business. I couldn't help noticing no one was ironing the fabric until it was a complete block! No finger-pressing, either. While I believe it is more important to have fun instead of perfection, I have too many quilt tops that were ruined because I didn't pay attention to bias or corners, or didn't take time to iron. Your tutorials are truly inspiring, because you help all of us, beginning to old pro, with your sound advice. I love seeing the gorgeous quilts that your viewers make from your patterns, proof positive that you are an excellent teacher.
I just started quilting during pandemic. Learned everything I know from Donna. I was always afraid to try but after watch one of her videos I couldn't wait to start working on one
Good morning Donna and all at Jordan fabrics, it's so nice to see you back doing what you do best....making quilts. Although i would have matched up more to bring out the squares and various other patterns that it makes stand out. I realise that i am defeating the whole purpose of quilting, but i've got to be in order and i can't help it. There were some really lovely pieces of fabric in that fat quarter bundle to choose from and the light ones that were so pretty, they can be used for something else where they will shine. Thank you flower for another great video, i so look forward to these weekly gems from your talented hands. Thank you to your son also for the brilliant job he does of videoing, because he really knows where and when to get the best shots so that we can enjoy the up close and personal video that we see. Have a great week across the big pond and i hope that you are all keeping safe. Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland
Love this one
Donna is like the Bob Ross of quilting. So relaxing, and I have learned so much from her. Thanks Donna. 😁

It's SO PRETTY omggggg
Brilliant as always
I watch all your tutorials and anxiously await the next one. You explain things so anyone can understand plus you use examples for those of us who are visual learners. Thanks, Donna and a big Hello to Matt and your staff!
Those ties on fabric bundles or rolls make great ties around a quilt you're giving away.

I love the sound your sewing machine makes.
I love the sound of the steam iron!
I love both, and I love to watch her sew. I wouldn't mind if the videos were longer to watch Donna fly through the quilt as she makes each patch. She sews so fast and I'm sure even faster when she's not showing us. She's amazing on that machine!
And the sound of the rotary cutter!
Your tutorials are my absolute favs. You don't push fancy machines and notions and make everything so simple. Thank you!
Love you shows
Lovely nails Donna
What a happy quilt
You are really helping me. Just starting. Made a few top but scared to finish I didn't know how. Till I found your videos.

Danielle Miele I think they’ve already done a video or two about their history in the quilt business. 😀👍
@@trishblakely3476 Really? Do you have a link, 'cause I haven't found it yet!
Trish Blakely I know they did but it wasn’t detailed ...it was just an overview. I’m speaking about a real bio .
Donna thank you for your videos are always great !!❤️❤️❤️
Great analogy. I get sooo relaxed watching BobRoss same here except I am going to try this.don't think I could oil paint😉😷
