I love it, it looks so cozy and welcoming. One of those places that you feel comfortable in straight away. At the same time it is a feast for the eyes, with lovely colours and fabrics and design.

I think it could look really great to switch the arm chairs in the bedroom and living room. The mid century style chair would make it look more airy. Plus the colour does well with the pink pillows and purple plant pot. The black leather arm chair could be covered up with a beautiful blanket like the one you have in your sofa (white and yellow/mustard coloured one), that would tie in very well with your Olive green headboard. With those colours it wouldn't look so large and in charge.
That is a BRILLIANT idea 😍 sometimes you need a fresh perspective and this is it! I’m going to measure it and see if it fits 💖 it might be slightly too big for the bedroom but I hope not because that will be the perfect place thank you soooo much!!!

I am always rearranging my furniture, and I never get tired of it :)

I would switch the chairs in the bedroom and the living room. And rethink all of the furniture in the hallway. But no ones home is perfect and we all have to find what works. Very refreshing to see decor with a small flat with things you can't change and storage issues. Well done Hermione. Do you think you would be allowed to make permanent changes one day? We used to have a small flat and it was such a struggle especially in the kitchen. Minimalism isnt always practical.
It’s been so fun to share the journey as, like you’ve said, the storage issues and space have been difficult to navigate but so many of us live in flats like this 😊 I think when I move out my family (who own the flat) will put in a proper wet room bathroom and hopefully I can share that process 😁 but I don’t think it will be while I live here.

This is a pretty spacious flat by London standards. It's good that she has a separate kitchen and not an 'open-plan' living/dining/kitchen type ones that only estate agents think is cool. They are just trying to flog a tiny flat that has been made to look large by opening up everything. Those open-plan flats are really difficult to live in (messy/smelly) unless you are a neat freak.
Love this and I adore what you have done with the place and how comfy it feels. Well done! And don’t apologize for having a REAL lived in home - that’s so much more relatable and endearing than AD videos.💙🙌🌿
I LOVE how you mix antique pieces with fun bright and funky pieces and colours! I love these two styles but I'm always struggling with how to make them work together and you are NAILING IT!

i love how fun and bright you've made the space!! you could use a shallow shoe shelf (ikea has some) that doesn't take as much space because of its depth!

i really like how realistic you've been about clutter and making do with what you have, because that's, as you said, reality! sometimes there's a corner of shame, or a room could use a full reno, but that's a whole lot of time, money, and if you're renting, just not up to you. i think this is really helpful to see for people who also live in flats! your place is looking really fun and cozy, good job!

You will have a problem with the landlord if you try to change the colours of doors and walls from the original. She was able to change them because her parents own the flat.
Wow Hermione, I think you have done such a beautiful job making over your flat, things are looking so beautiful and I love the colors of things you have chosen, that beautiful green headboard, the peel and stick tile in the bathroom, that one wall you painted that darker color and it is looking so good. I love the kitchen how it is looking and who wouldn't love a pink fridge, those counter tops that you covered with that peel and stick paper looks amazing, they look like actual wood. I also love the tiles you put on as a back splash. Oh gosh you always give me such vibes to get going on my own rooms in my house. I also love all of the plants you have placed all over your flat, I am somewhat of a plant freak, so plants always give that beautiful vibe as well. Thanks for the lovely tour of your flat. Love the colorful hallway. The entire apartment is bright and cheerful. The only thing I'd change is to have all of the storage furniture in the hallway white like the wall color.

you’ve done some great work on taking an older build and making it seem new and fresh without losing its character. speaking of the dishwasher, i think it would be worth trying the saloncare 40 method to fix the yellowing on it?

I love it! For the dishwasher, it would certainly look slick to cover up the comparatively dingy surface with a clean white, but it also seems like the perfect opportunity for a pink patterned peel and stick wallpaper/backsplash on it to connect up with the other pink accents in the room and add a hit of texture
I think the flat is adorable ! It’s homey, eclectic (as am I) & no it’s not perfect! Thankfully! Perfect lacks personality. NOTHING wrong w/ butcher block in the bathroom. I like it! Love the colored doors in hallway (I’ll have to explore that) & it’s alive. Love it!
I love everything! The bath panel I'd carry the floor sticky tiles up. The chest of drawers in your bedroom, lighty sand and wax. I've done some antique bedroom furniture and it looks amazing xx

You've done a great job transforming it into a cosy, stylish home without (1) spending a fortune or (2) upsetting Nan by throwing out her items. I LOVE the yellow door and tiles out from bathroom into hall. Bathroom and kitchen look 100% to what they were, due to your creative mind and hard work. Congratulations !! The changes you've made are great. I'd possibly put a fun patterned contact paper or peel n stick wallpaper on the dishwasher for a pop of cute color.
Looks great! I’d add art or mirror over the sink, do the dishwasher in a colour and switch the freestanding trash bin for a more elegant one like a brass coloured or something. I would also put a more interesting colourful rug in the bath. But overall you’ve done so much here, congratulations!

Love your flat. I lived in London for 3 years many years ago and family all from there. Love your Shower Curtain. Very happy. Hard to find print shower drapes these days.

Great tour! For the sconces in the bedroom- maybe spray painting them to better fit the vibe (maybe make them the same color as the wall, or copper, gold, or a matte white, etc.) :)
I LOVE that you're not afraid of colour or injecting whimsy into your home. Tbh I've been getting quite sick of the minimalist/scandi/farmhouse trends lately (especially farmhouse - just not my personal taste). Your flat looks gorgeous.

II love those dining chairs. If they are yours, you can always paint, if not they are just great.
The dishwasher looks pretty old and beat. If you think you'll be there for awhile, maybe consider going in half with your landlord for a new one (I think you can get them relatively cheap), or do the diy covering.

Hmmmmm…. Sounds like something’s up! What do you have up your sleeve? Your flat looks cozy and relaxing. Now you will have to branch out and do other peoples flats! If you come across the pond, my home is up for a revamp! Thanks for the tour!❤️
I would take the small table from the kitchen and use it as a lamp table in a corner of the living room and maybe re-arrange the furniture. Or dismantle and store it... I would get some jif/cif onto the wooden drawers in the bedroom and scrub it clean, and maybe some thick bleach. Then put clear wax onto it which will buff up to a nice sheen when its dry. The kitchen cube unit is similar to the ikea ones and l would buy another and stack them up, giving you a lot more storage....the bathrooms fine and l like the shower curtain 😊🌺🏡
You can always use rub & buff on the bedroom sconces. It comes in quite a few different metallics. The flat looks amaze balls!
I thought the same! Maybe a paint of a rose copper colour to match the mirror? :) Depending on the heat factor of course.

I think in 10:18 the bed was there because it doesn't interrupt the entrance into the room and window in case of emergency. Also, the brick wall is more at sight when the person lays on the bed. Even more if there is a tv.

Hermione, I love pops of color and will def go watch the video on Lick's channel. I think you're way too hard on yourself about the kitchen. It seems like a cozy place to have a cuppa. The brick wall in your bedroom - so pretty!! I'm a reader also and usually have at least 3 books going at a time. You speaking about that made me smile. Weirdly, what gave me the most joy was that Fleetwood Mac album. haha! I actually have my Pop's Jimi Hendrix and Doors albums. Much love xx

@@HermioneChantal Hi Hermione. Thank you for asking. I was staying at the top of the cliffs above Shanklin with views over Luccombe Bay - simply breath taking! I was born and grew up in central London. I chuckled at you taking Mr Carrington to see The Barbican, my dad took me there to see it being built!! With each house move I've made, I have got nearer & nearer the sea and now live on the south coast so on a clear day I can see across to Bembridge & even the church spire at Ryde. It's beautiful but I do miss all the galleries, museums and theatres that I so took for granted in my London days. You made the right decision and I look forward to hearing what comes next.

You could put a panel of wallpaper on the dishwasher to match with the pink fridge or a piece of the fabric that I have seen at Peter Jones shop on King’s Road
I think you should definitely contact paper the dishwasher! But maybe do a light pink color that matches the fridge? 😍 I feel like it would look so cool & definitely match your style!
Also, maybe you could put tiny lamp shades on the sconces and spray paint them? I saw Lone Fox have something similar... Unless you wanted to change them out completely? 🤔
