  • Dr. Kendra Campbell is bold, brilliant, and honest. A traditionally trained psychiatrist, Dr. Campbell recognized the irreconcilable flaws at the core of modern psychiatry--the invalidity of its diagnoses, its bogus chemical imbalance theory, and the harmful nature of its treatments--and changed her ways. In the most admirable fashion, she takes responsibility for misleading patients about the nature of their conditions, and for prescribing the wrong treatment. Dr. Campbell now offers a multi-faceted, whole-person based treatment protocol that does not include drugs. She also specializes in guiding people through the process of drug withdrawal.

history repeats - barbiturate 'safe and effective' then twenty years later mostly due to millions of people being harmed turns out they are a not safe and ineffective, same with benzodiazepines, same with opiates, same with 'antidepressants' and 'antipsychotics' Drug companies have made billions causing a huge amount of harm - these drugs are now in the water supply, in the rivers and oceans and are changing a range of aquatic life. We need a campaign to get withdrawal clinics set up everywhere and paid for from drug company profits.

it would be great to do a deep dive on the common factors in psychotherapy - it seems the most important element of therapy is nothing to do with therapy - the most helpful element is the persons resources coming in for therapy - resources is the broadest sense. Then placebo, then relationship then shared goals. Given the most important element is resources is it cruel to offer therapy to just about everyone most of which are not sufficiently resourced enabling a closer relationship to wellbeing? - not to mention we are all living with myriad cultural disorders - these cultural disorders are the ultimate cause of most of our suffering - our 'symptom's are simply our reactions to these cultural disorders - meaning we are treating the wrong thing and essentially trying to force square pegs into round holes.

This is very powerful. I am now two years off polypharmacy after 40 years. Most of it has been during the pandemic. It's been horrendous, mum died of covid in Dec 20 refusing to believe in withdrawal only seeing relapse of supposed bipolar. She only believed medical model. It left me dealing with this in complete isolation in lockdown but fortunately I landed up with a phenomenal psychotherapist via an open dialogue contact and I wouldn't be here without his support and solid belief in me that I could come through this.

I'm still waiting for the same study coming out regarding dopamine. There are people forcefullly overdosed on neurotoxines and bullied into suicide because psychiatry lies about the dopamine being responsible for the development of psychosis...
And what purpose does it have to have patient fixated naked over hours? How can we accept this as a society and normalize treatments like this? (I still think psychiatry has completely lost it - let's not forget about the decades of lobotomy - and I don't know why we hold a profession that treats people like that in high regard. For me, every psychiatrist who prescribes drugs without informed consent should be put in jail and forced on their on "medicine". I know it's radical, but their resistance to learning - shown how they react to the serotonin studies - makes me think they are - per their own definition - psychotic themselves.)

Thanks PI for this talk. Dr Kendra, I have no problem forgiving you and like minded psychiatrists. In any case, Psychiatry, like any human endeavor, is evolving. My problem is with psychiatrists who would rather pretend they are 'not aware' and continue dishing out the poisons. Big pharma perks are irresistible. For instance, some psychiatrists still give a month's supply of free abilify and aderal to most new clients, and a prescription thereafter. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Saying 'I was wrong' is the mark of maturity. Well done Kendra.

Where are the class action lawsuits? If this had happened in any other medical specialty, there would be billions paid in malpractice settlements.
Now some psychiatrists are making*more* money (and none of them take insurance. Like Witt Doehring charges $1000 a consultation.).

I thought psychiatrists were supposed to look at the data themselves.
Great but too late for a lot of us. I was sent for ECT because I didn't respond to the SSRIS Klonopin etc. They said that meant I was treatment resistant. After the ECT they said the ECT didn't work because I had borderline. Then they added antipsychotics and mood stabilizers to the mix but for some reason they never stopped with the SSRIs.
I never got help for the trauma which was the original problem.
I've been disabled for 15 years. Bedridden for 3.

Only half way thru this vid but so great. It really is crucial to understand how all these different levels interact. I have severe childhood trauma and a good amount of trauma around food and body, AND it turns out I have hypoglycemia, hashimotos and probably celiac and lactose intolerance. My therapist is integrative like you and helped me figure all of the 'bio' pieces out (although my hypoglycemia and hashimotos are both downstream of chronic stress FROM childhood trauma [disorganized attachment, parental and sibling abuse, sexual abuse, other ACES], another example of how interrelated these levels are!) AND was super gentle and supportive of finding the right way into lifestyle change given my food/body related trauma. It's been a long journey and it's still going, but it is soooo important to have someone who is working on all of these levels. Wish there were more people like you out there! Another aside is she is heavy on the energetic work, I was very skeptical at first but that has probably been the most helpful side of things for me, so I'm glad I suspended my disbelief.
Also as an aside she also helped me figure out I probably had sleep apnea, which I got tested and confirmed thru a sleep md and test. Now I'm on a cpap and oh my god does that make a difference with my mental health! If you guys aren't doing this you should definitely look into the connections between labels like depression and ADHD and sleep apnea and UARS. Stephen Park is a good resource.

Parkinson Disease is listed on my son's Death Certificate as the cause of my son's death. The immediate cause of his death was cardiopulmonary arrest. He would never had Parkinson's symptoms in the the first place if... if the MDs (psychiatrists) had NOT prescribed the powerful, devastating meds that they did. My son never had a chance. My son could have survived a disability, but his body and mind could not withstand the incessant variety of potent, destructive meds that were prescribed to him for years by every psychiatrist that he "worked with"... As a father and conservator, I deeply, deeply regret that I did not oppose vigorously the attempts by these psychiatrists to carte blanche give destructive meds to my son. The prescribed meds worsened his condition, depressed and weakend his brain and his body and eventually killed him. I swallowed all their medical school malarkey and B.S.without question, that was my weakness in deferring to "experts..."

True happines is when you see clearly, and you can only see clearly when there is continuation due to rigurous rituals and habits. Moreover, conscience and personhood are created; they ARE true meta-structures in the brain, and if it got built faulty, it will be faulty forever.
Everybody misses the point of the brain, that it is here to generating a most accurate model of reality and it does so in ways that AREN'T akin to a computer program. It's also complicated by the fact that we have reason and we have to CHOOSE what is real and then , the problem arises, in very complex societies, that there are different interpreted realities , so yet another hard one to deal with. Plus, we evolved in small societies, in which your peers had complex mental models about you, so one was at less of a risk to have his actions or state of mind misread, which happens a lot nowadays.

This is the key.. understanding our basic biology and why intrusive thoughts are coming full spread ahead trying to send us back to the toxic drugs/behavior/etc. Stand firm and don't be fearful and it will lose its strength and go away.. and if ever those thoughts come back don't hang on to them.

Studies are funded by the billion dollar pharma industry and are usually biased. In Canada patients must be tried on big pharma drugs before cannabis is an option. She states how sorry she is, which is almost believable until the next sentence which sounds like a lesson to all of us:
You see, I’m not afraid to admit that I make mistakes.....
It’s not about making mistakes, it’s about taking responsibility [for] when you do.

I hope this doesn't seem too much like cuing up Dark Side Of The Moon to the Wizard Of Oz. I love the doctor's frankness. However, I was glad I wasn't eating when she revealed her so-called "safe" specialty of taking away medicines after people already and dependant on the damaging drugs (she) prescibed.
So what is the Wizard Of Oz irony? Of course 1720 minus 420 equals 1300. I would say the irony is like a pothead Freudian slip admitting the whole mess still invites people figuratively back to the dark ages (dark times ahead ouroboros) rabbit hole.
Also 1300 seems to imply double jeopardy bad luck for the decades-in patients the MD doctor (see previous posts on this channel about removal of "PhD" from doctors credentials) claims to be able to somehow restore to anything like their former healthy selves "safely"(?).
Not saying the hat means anything or anything either for or against 420.
