    I use the castile soap, a few drops of baby oil, a few drops of scent and water, nice foaming and perfect for my two yorkies.

    I use this on my RBCH and his coat is so shinny! He get complimented everywhere we go! He gets clean and I have to keep him from licking while I shampoo him and I do notice he has much less flaking of his skin using this recipe. Thanks

    I agree never to mix them together but to vinager after.
    But it will leave a tacky salt build up on Any thing.
    At least you know what's in the shampoo.
    Most Dog shampoo are ment for dogs anyway and lanolin is a good moisturiser .

    Coconut oil can also help with skin allergies

      I mix a tablespoon of raw honey and coconut oil for my two large German Shepherds. They each eat half a tablespoon 2-3 times a week. Both are antimicrobial, good for them and the coconut ingested can help with dry skin and has vital amino acids they need.
      You can also sparingly apply coconut oil to dry spots on their skin

    Does the coconut oil need to be melted? What happens when the the whole concoction cools?

    Does this help with dandruff?

    • @jessicaremmer5566
      @jessicaremmer5566 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does! The oils help with the flaking. Coconut oil or any carrier oil will help with the flaking but Coconut oil also kills fleas and ticks and sooths the skin

      Eucalyptus oil is toxic to dogs!! Ask your vet about the tea tree oil. I know lemon and all citrus is toxic also for dogs

    Any expiration for this moisturizer?

  • @DeterminedDIYer
    @DeterminedDIYer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    There's no way that will work lol. Not enough soap for a dog, and you don't need to add oil to castile soap. Castile soap is made from coconut and vegetable oils. If you rinse your dog in vinegar you should do it after you wash them as a conditioner. Which I can't do because no matter how many times I rinse him he smells like a salad and my husband complains lol.

      I was wondering about a thinking agent. For my DYI shampoo I use Guar Gum. Wonder if that ok to use!!??

    • @minniekillen764
      @minniekillen764 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gum stuff i also wondered that and researched it after watching....
      My biggest thing is lather.... I made not this one but another.... Gonna try it tomorrow.... Really hope it lathers up nice but im skeptical as i tried washing my hands with it to test it out.

    • @thuongb2715
      @thuongb2715 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Prasanna Pradeep foam really doesn’t do anything for cleaning. It’s sodium lauryl sulfate that makes foam in a lot of soap.

    Nooooo why do people keep mixing vinegar and castile soap they cancel each other out

    • @sabrinamassie5606
      @sabrinamassie5606 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you, Britney ... I can see adding a couple tablespoons but a CUP? Far too much! I make our elderly dogs' shampoo ... I do put 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in mine.. but the KEY to moisturizing your dog's skin is ground (Colloidal) oatmeal!
