Idk if you're still keeping up with this channel, but i just wanted to say thank you for this awesome and easy recipe for dry shampoo ❤ My boy smells wonderful and he loved getting the rub down lol Hope you are well 😃
This is all I ever used on my dogs after their show career. Afterwards I saw that they were whiter than the other Samoyeds in the show ring and their coats felt heaps better. I never wet washed my Samoyeds again. That's about 7 years of saving water. They never smelt (but then, Samoyeds don't have doggie smells anyway) I never used any essential oils either.
Tea tree oil is toxic to pretty much everything (including humans) which is why you should keep the bottle away from dogs/children. However, it is used as a antiseptic and antibacterial agent in lots of oral care products in a diluted form for both pets and humans like this one. I use it on my own teeth in both natural toothpaste and I have extracts of it in my floss :)
The same terpene that is responsible for the antimicrobial/anti-inflammatory properties of tea tree oil is also present in cannabis. So there's that...
Use a whisk to mix and blend. It really distributes everything equally and breaks up any clumps without stress. If you don’t have a sifter, use a shaped strainer.
Yeti and I enjoy watching your videos. You have some good tips. I would like to know how you trained them? They listen so well and I love how they sit with you, looking happy for the camera.
I'll give this a try with peppermint oil. I like it because I already use it as a bug killer/repellent. It kills ticks, and mosquitos, spiders, ants, etc.. hate it. I might try another oil with it for scent. Thank you!
Hi Kait I have a 3 month old samoyed her name is snowy and she is just gorgeous. Anyway I have been told that samoyeds bark a lot does tinks and Meeks bark all the time?x
Hi! i have a puppy poodle and he is always in the backyard playing with the kids. my question is how many times can I dry bath my puppy with baking powder and cornstarch? thanks :)
I love this! :) Any suggestions for other fragrances? As I somehow just can't stand lavender :( One of the things we make for our pup is paw balm/wax, it is amazing to protect and heal up the paws during the winter months and also when going on long hikes (especially hikes on rocky surfaces, which can be tough on the paws). We have two versions at hand, a softer one and a solid one (this one we take with us on multi day hikes).
+Marlot Johanna Haha- I have a friend who is the same way! Lemongrass and peppermint are also good (just be sure to use a small amount of peppermint- if applied directly to skin when not diluted enough it can burn.) And yay paw balm! I'm currently working on perfecting a recipe to add to my line of holistic bath and body care!
Lol she is like omg mommy has a bowl and some liquids she's making me food yes mommy hurry with it or I'll just take it lol so adorable they are beautiful
OMG girl thank u,,I haven't even thought of doing this when I can't give her a bath..she acts like she's being abused when we try bathing her lol... Hmm I have tea tree essential oil,,wish I had lavender,,but would eucalyptus oil be alright?
I been looking at tree oil for dogs, and it says is toxic. but, also noticed some dogs products do have tree oil. should or should I not put this on my dog?
Copy and pasting this from another comment I responded to: Tea tree oil is toxic to pretty much everything (including humans) which is why you should keep the bottle away from dogs/children. However, it is used as a antiseptic and antibacterial agent in lots of oral care products in a diluted form for both pets and humans like this one. Kait is spot on. 100% tea tree oil is toxic. A small amount of tea tree oil mixed with other things is fine. Most veterinary products contain highly diluted tea tree oil.
@@kellynguyen1709 no, it doesn't depend on the dog!! you have to be extremely careful with the dosage of EO's -- they can be toxic (as tea tree can be) to dogs -- and you have to remember that their sense of smell is 1000 times more sensitive than humans !!
I know this is an old reply that you made regarding this dry shampoo I don't know if this will get through to you or something I've never done this before leaving a comment reply this is the very first time but I did leave a reply about dry shampoo being a health hazard and why. Please see my reply for this video for more information. If we think about whether the dry powder is natural or not it's still a powder form is a dust thing and we're not supposed to be putting anything into our dogs that they can inhale into their soft nasal capacities dehydrate that and get into their lungs. although it might freshen their coat or doing a very big Des Justice and could potentially be making them ill as the years go by. one of the things I said in the comment was isn't it funny how so many of us today are using air purifiers to take fine dust out of the air to keep ourselves our children our family and our pets healthy but yeah we want it dry shampoo powder and put it into our dog's fur? Isn't powder any type of powder very dusty if you also take a very good look at the video when she was sifting it she waved her hand in the air because it went up into the air and of course it's not natural for us to be inhaling that in her natural reaction was to pull back and try to get it out of the way cuz she was inhaling it doesn't she think about that when it comes to her dogs? let's also think about the fact that she had to take the dogs outside in order to do this because the dust goes up into the air well even if that happens the dog is still having that dust in their fur and then potentially bringing it into their lungs putting it on their bed etc. please for anybody that has dogs or cats do not dry shampoo them we all knew that when we had dogs we were going to have to pay them and that's just part of the responsibility., Period.
Hi Kait. Love all of your videos. I have a few questions hope you could help me. I have an 8 weeks Samoyed puppy. We are potty training him but can't beat him to it because he pees every 10 - 15 minutes. We are struggle to keep him clean at night in his 42" kennel. We use odor eliminator, mop and clean but feel endless. So how can you keep up with two Samoyed. Are they spayed?
lemongrass and peppermint are pretty good other choices, just don't add too much of peppermint since it can burn. or you can just skip scented oils totally. but it won't smell very good
I began to leave a comments and accidentally sent it through before I actually finished, nonetheless I guess I started in a way I didn't intend anyway.,so again here I go. I understand the reason behind idea behind the idea to freshen a dog's coat. The problem is that anything that is in powder form or any powder substance can be dangerous in potentiall respiratory problems. Think about it for a minute. We don't want to be "powdering" our dogs with anything even if it's natural because whether natural or not it can potentially get into the lungs in this situation the potential of that is very high due to the fact that dogs curl up and split their little nose into their fur they scratch they play with each other Etc they're always up in their fur you don't want to be powdering your dog with anything that can get into the respiratory system or their lungs the only thing that belongs in lungs is clean air and no other substance. If we look at baby powder and read the back of it., it clearly states to keep the powder away from the baby's face as much as possible; Now..,it's often necessary for a baby to have some powder to prevent irritation, skin rashes, Etc.. but we try to do it in such a way that it won't get in their face. The difference is that once the baby has their diaper on it's done and then that area is covered up. Again with the dogs this is all over their fur. dog scratch curl up into a little ball and put their nose in their fur to keep it warm when they sleep it's all over their bedding area they go there and put their toys and they get it in their mouth we don't want to be doing this people. I understand it can be a hassle to bathe the dog with a lot of fur but when you got your dog you knew this was part of the responsibility now please it's better for them to stay a little stinky than for you to potentially make them sick and give them respiratory problems. please share this with as many people as you can I keep hearing about this on TV, on the web,etc... about powdering your dogs to freshen their coat and finally,FINALLY!! I just had to say something about it.
please if you can look back into my comments or my reply on this video regarding the dry shampoo for dogs I don't know if people get any type of notification to their email when they get a reply or you just have to come back into this video I have no idea this is the first time I ever leave a reply for anything but please do not do not do not dry shampoo your cats even if the product is natural and it's made with baking soda and cornstarch cornstarch is still a powder that can get into their nasal passages and their lungs and cause potential respiratory issues and give them a higher chance of getting sick because now it's dehydrating the mucous glands in their nasal passages and their lungs and allowing for more germs to stick their and so they can get sicker during the winter months do not dry shampoo your cats do not dry shampoo your dogs do not powder your dogs cats with nothing.
not sure but I thought tea tree oil was toxic for dogs ?.... Probably need to be ingested in high concentration but I would be careful on really small dogs . Your dogs are tooo cute by the way 😍

Yes I have to add one more thing I just pause this video at 5 minutes and 45 seconds if you look very carefully you don't have to look too hard one of her dogs has his or her nose into the other dog's fur sniffing sniffing sniffing sniffing I'm sure the doggie my last like the scent of the oil but the doggy doesn't know is that he or she is inhaling whatever powder is in that fur right into their nasal capacities right into their brain and into their lungs it might not seem to be a problem now but eventually as the years go by this could be a very potential health issue dogs do this on their own inside with their own fur when they sniff they scratch again when they sleep on their bed they could leave this microscopic dust they bring their toys on it they put it back in there mouth Etc. again even if the product is natural it does not belong in the lungs or in the eyes or in the nose especially in the nasal tissues that can dehydrate the nasal passages. One last note and food for thought there are people that might be able to say oh I've done this with my dogs and they've never had issues of course maybe not not if they don't use it a lot not if they don't use it all the time that still doesn't mean that it's okay and that it's not bad and that the body isn't struggling after to take all of that junk out in some way or manner. isn't it funny how so many people now are using air purifiers to take dust out of the air but yet we want to put some kind of dust in our dog's fur. I wish I could like this 1000000 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG your dogs are so cute 😱😘
Always dilute essential oils when you are using them on humans or dogs. I love this recipe :)
Thanks, needed this for my Doberman! He gets a funk even after his baths
Thank you for sharing the vídeo. How often do you use the dry shampoo on your dogs?
Idk if you're still keeping up with this channel, but i just wanted to say thank you for this awesome and easy recipe for dry shampoo ❤ My boy smells wonderful and he loved getting the rub down lol Hope you are well 😃
We use this all the time on our Samoyed. It's a lifesaver since we live in the super-rainy Pacific Northwest! 🐾😊
This is really cool. Bananas fur under her ears gets oily and I think I might use this to help absorb the oils. :D

Hi , just a question , i have read that tea tree oil is toxic for dogs? can you tell me a bit more about this ?
Great video! I'm looking for a dry shampoo for my German Shepherd pup
OMG UR DOGS R SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
Hi! i have a puppy poodle and he is always in the backyard playing with the kids. my question is how many times can I dry bath my puppy with baking powder and cornstarch? thanks :)
Thank you, do you have ideas for cleaning ears? My dog is 6 months golden retriever. I’ll give the dry shampoo a try.
Third week with our bundle of joy so many ups and a few downs can you help with the constant biting please?

Lol she is like omg mommy has a bowl and some liquids she's making me food yes mommy hurry with it or I'll just take it lol so adorable they are beautiful
it works great for my dog except, my dog is dark and it's a white powder so looks spotty..
I have made this before but instead of oils I used herbs to scent the dry shampoo.
What kind of herb u used?
do u need to use oils
OMG girl thank u,,I haven't even thought of doing this when I can't give her a bath..she acts like she's being abused when we try bathing her lol...

hinami love I want to know too.
AnnaTheRavenclaw pretty sure itd work for them too idk
Just do the research of essential oils, so many are toxic for them.
Your dogs are so gorgeous😍😍😍

When I use small amounts of tea tree oil the shampoo smells strongly of Listerine. What am I doing wrong?
Cornstarch, Baking soda, 5 drops or essential oil.

A small amount is fine, and tea tree oil is strong, so only a small amount is needed
So is baking soda.

5 drops of essential oil is a lot, one should suffice! These oils can be highly toxic.
