The thing i love about playing a new monhun for the first time is that those first encounters always feel so impossible until you calm down and learn the moveset
Ray Dau's a pretty cool monster, and it was challenging to fight with the gear we have to work with. Felt rewarding to beat alongside one of my friends. Heavy Bowgun with its sleep ammo in the beta is nice for setting up the sleep bombs for Gunlance.
It was fun watching the stream! Can't wait to get my time in as well, GL looks fun as usual and Rey (King) Dau is cool especially the big oof slam attack.
Me encanta tu gameplay cuando no tienes que explicar nada tu destreza sube como a 1000 genial caza! Pusieron un aviso cuando lo duermes! maravilloso! menos noobraging para los artilleros!
I thought chargeblade was gonna stay my main but the new playstyle is gonna take some getting used to. Gunlance is so fun now though and its gonna be my wilds main no doubt, that double full burst isnt easy to get off but its so awesome lol
It's because this is most likely a generic low level set with only one or two relevant skills like 1 level of Artillery and ATK boost. Just look at how much damage a single shell is doing. Wyvern Fire is doing 4x the shell damage per tick. You're fighting the first big monster with (presumably) a low amount of relevant skills, which is usual in a demo. If you know how to build, at the point in the game where you fight Rey Dau, you'll probably have more damage.
all shelling is less than demo footage. by about 50% across the board. it was a bit suss in previous footage how close the numbers were to lv2 shelling so its not too surprising to see them changed from a place holder. but disappointing non the less
I love everything about this monster. The lore the fight except for that one RNG one shot that has no business being in this game. I thought we left that back in rise
this is just me but i hate the decimal values. i hope i can turn that off and let the damage numbers be whole number. overall i cant wait for the demo!
Lance and GL both had the same shield values and angles. The difference was how often they utilize the shield. As a Lance player, yeah... GL barely used the shield. It's why most GL players play with evade extender.
In the case of gunlance, shells never have got any hitstop at all that makes sense because a shot don't cause friction. the sweep is also a bit weaker and faster than before.
@ gunlance seems fine but the other weapons have nearly zero hitstop, switch axe especially feels bad. If you turn off numbers and mute the game it feels like your weapon is sliding through the monster. I’m using the survey to complain about it to capcom
Tbh looks pretty easy so far. I'm sure it takes forever to actually kill with that set though. Lots of punishable openings from what I'm seeing and hit boxes are so crisp you can just ignore most of his attacks lmao.
"Heals inbou-" *Rey took that personally.*

The shell sound effects are so satisfying
I just went CB as my usual main, with Gl as my 2nd. Weapons all go brrrrr
Funny. I went all shielded weapons in world. Gonna switch it up and go with shieldless weapons this time around. *wish me well* 😂
@@bigcsbigbrother3685 I use all weapons, partial to GL and GS though. You'll be fine, man. Lean into them all. Go ham with dual blades even.
That reload sound is so crispy, I love it.

I love how chunky things feel in this iteration. Looking forward to it!
MH always had that "clunky" feeling. If you came from Rise, that was the only game where combat was much faster paced.

Congrats bro really enjoyed the gameplay 🙌🏼
Great video. Rurikhan can finally beat it now.
He did it also in the morning.

Did they add the pause game feature like they did in rise Cao? Lack of it in world caused a lot of troubles for fathers of babies like me =/
You can pause. Just up from options
You can pause.. but only when offline.. online or inside the lobby doesn't work.
@@caoslayerawesome! better than world by default.

This the gl goat right here
Yea he da man

Wyvern's Fire doesn't look to hit as hard as it did in the gamescom demo, did it get nerfed or is that just against Ray Dau?

Seikret is the new wirefall move...so useful in crucial moments..but got some delay to it tho
Yeah, the delay is quite random is useful but you shouldn't rely on it for everything.
I love everything about this monster. The lore the fight except for that one RNG one shot that has no business being in this game. I thought we left that back in rise
Even with flaming espinas it wasn't based off of rng
this is just me but i hate the decimal values. i hope i can turn that off and let the damage numbers be whole number. overall i cant wait for the demo!
Actually it's a whole number by default. But I think he modified his settings so it's showing decimals instead
Mhwilds duskborne will have dmg looking like this: (3x+2y) × 2.7 😅
OMG looks like GL's shield level is more like lance's shield level now.
And seikret is surely a game changer here, can use pot healing more safe now.

Rey dau rays you
I feel like the hit effects on weapons need more hit stop

it look so damn good
Ill miss blast dash
Can the after digit numbers tourned off? Thats kind of useless imo.
Yes, it’s off by default.
Gave it firehole.
Can't stand with that paclico voice, nice gameplay tho
You can change it to meows thankfully
Still better than Navirou

Looks easy but rey hits like a truck
Rey Dau is the kind of monster that does feel a bit easy to avoid BUT if you get a little too overconfident it kills you and you die
