    You make jump roping look so good. You're majestic. I look rediculous XD. I think it has to do with my off sized rope. Saving up for one of your nice ones!

    Dave, from 2:05 until 2:09 you're doing a cool movement with both your hands that I was hoping that you'd drill down into. Don't get me wrong, this is a great video, but that type of side swing movement is the coolest of all of them all because the rope and the metal hardware doesn't get all tangled up like it does with the other techniques where you're gripping both of the handles in one hand or the other. I hope this makes sense, it is very hard to explain!

      Yeah I know what you're saying. I thought about going into more detail on that - I call it the double side swing. Text is not as good as video, but basically when the rope is on the left side, your left hand should be behind your right on the first rotation and then you cycle your left hand in front of your right as you cross to the right side of your body and now your right hand is beside your left on the first rotation and then you bring your right in front of your left as you cross back over to the left side.

      @@Crossrope this is a great explanation of I believe is called the double side swing

    For some reason, your jumps in side-swing reminded me of the great Sugar Ray Robinson. Though his jumps were more spectacular for sure, there is some similarity in the basic form of your side swings with his - at least to my perceptive eyes. Keep it up!

    My rope seems to tangle when I go side to side and then to the middle for a jump. The rope does not separate. any feedback would be appreciated.

    Dave, any tips on how to avoid my rope tangling when I open my hands after swinging? I think it may be because I am opening my hands too late before I attempt to pass the rope beneath my feet. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, it's the best way I can describe it.

    What if my rope gets tangled as I swing it together in one hand? What am I doing wrong?

    • @Crossrope
      @Crossrope  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Very good question. I regret not addressing this in the video because I should have hit on it. You're actually not necessarily doing anything wrong. The amount of tangle depends a bit on rope material and design. The best suggestion I can provide (and this is mostly from my own experience) is to try to perform comparable numbers of side swings on each side. So either back and forth side to side, or 2 left swings, 2 right swings ... or even 5 left swings, then 5 right swings. In general, that will even out the tangle.

      Crossrope Jump Ropes can you do a video just on this tangling issue. It’s super frustrating, please and thank you! 🤗

    Thanx for the tutorial. I hv a thin reebok speed rope but if i do more than 1 side swing with both hands the rope gets entangled when I try to jump through it. So I cannot do consecutive side swings and jumps. Is this because I am side swinging too slow or too fast?? Its frustrating. My jump rope is the correct length as I can do crossovers and double unders. Any feedback will be appreciated.

    • @Crossrope
      @Crossrope  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps you're swinging too slow. However it may also be the rope. The wrong material may get tangled. Try out a few ropes and see what work for you. You can check out our ropes at crossrope.com

    Why is my rope getting tangled up when I do the side swing?!

    • @inquisitiveprecursor975
      @inquisitiveprecursor975 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crossrope Jump Ropes im using an RPM speed rope. I do also have the 0.25lb infinity rope but I find slightly too heavy to move quickly at the moment. My rope is only getting tangled when I use one hand, with two hands side swing it's okay

    you talk about how to do the proper side swing while still moving, but lke so many other videos...it isn't executed. you say you can do this or that....but don't do it. you aren't the only one. most all the videos do the same thing. I can't find one where someone actually does it while transitioning and doesn't stop to talk about what could be done. if you read this and want to complete the video that would be awesome! good stuff though..not hating at all.

    Squat jump rope how

    • @Crossrope
      @Crossrope  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Rasool. You can do a jump squat while jumping rope. We don't have a video on this yet, but essentially, you want to maintain a slow rotation speed. Don't come up all the way up, and make sure that the squats are not too low. Jump back up, and have the rope under your feet as you jump up. When the rope is above you, you should do your squat, quickly. Hope this helps!
